I’m picky with my shave ice, and honestly it wasn’t that great here! It’s hard to explain but if you eat a lot of shave ice, you know when flavors are generic, and that’s what this tastes like. Definitely try and get it at one of the other places that serve it in the area.

Great lil local place that gets forgotten… No lines, steps from the beach and an abundant menu!!! Add the ice cream fooo sho– calories don’t count in Hawaii!!!

This place is a rip off! It’s really pricey and it taste like crap no wonder this place has no lines, I should have gone to Matsumoto’s down the street instead and it’s well worth standing in line.

Wow. How do you serve bad shave ice? Well, they figured it out. No line though. Lol

Amazing shaved iced. We bought ours with condensed milk. I would highly recommend it. The line is much shorter than another popular spot around the corner. The syrup is definitely more juice than sugar. A must try!

Staff was nice but messed up every order that I witnessed whole waiting. It was a fairly short line but I still waited 20 min because of all the mistakes. Not a fine shave ice… more like chunky snow cone from the past. Syrup flavors tasted good, just not the consistency I was expecting.

When compared to its surrounding competitors this place isn’t worth your time. When visiting I had come to taste shaved ice from Matsumoto’s but it was closed. Walking about with my wife there was a long line, so like tourists we decided to try, but we were wrong. I tried one of there favorites menu items, a mix of chocolate and coconut, and I didn’t eat more than 5 bites before tossing it. Basically this stand serves snow cones with store bought syrups. The ice doesn’t retain any of the flavors because it’s more crushed than shaven.

Stopped here with my dad and Mr. Piano so the latter could try shave ice. Originally intended to hit up Matsumoto’s, but the line was ridiculous. On a weekday! The line here was practically non-existant, so it was a better deal at the time. I’ve had shave ice at a couple of other places, including Matsumoto’s, and this place seems comparable. Perhaps not as many flavors as some places, but they have the classic rainbow and aren’t stingy with the condensed milk(snow cap), so I think they’re a reasonable substitute if you aren’t hoping for a flavor or topping they don’t offer. Staff were friendly and quick at the time of our visit, and the syrups appear to be the standard kind you see pretty much everywhere. Matsumoto’s may have the historical appeal and famous name, but San Lorenzo’s is fine if you don’t want to wait in line and aren’t in for the famous name factor and/or a flavor they don’t have. I’d definitely go again :) Place is a-okay!

My boyfriend and I ended up here on New Year’s Day since Matsumoto’s Shave Ice down the street was closed for the holiday. First thing I noticed were the high prices. It was $ 5 each for the combinations they offered. I love the traditional lava flow drink, which consists of pineapple, coconut, and strawberry flavors; however, their ‘lava flow’ combination was made of orange dreamsicle, cherry, and coconut(I think — correct me if I’m wrong), which sounds delicious right? It was lacking so much flavor, even with the sweetened condensed milk on top. The ice was not fine — it was chunky. I was disappointed that we spent $ 13 on two bowls that did not taste as described. If you haven’t already, please try Matsumoto’s because you can spend half the money there for triple the quality. Also, we waited about 10 – 15 minutes for our order once we paid.

Terrible. I’ve eaten a lot of shave ice on the north shore and this by far is the worst. The ice is hard, poor flavor, plus BUGS were packed in two of the three shave ice that we ordered. I do not recommend this place. They shave the ice and put it in a bin to sit and then they pack it. I’m never coming back. Plus, it costs $ 16 for three small shave ice cups with ice cream. What a rip off.

Shaved ice is an interesting concept. It’s ice and syrup flavoring. At this location a small is really a large, enough for two adults so you can definitely share if you’d like. Ordered watermelon and cotton candy with condensed milk on top. Unfortunately, couldn’t tell the difference between the two flavors and the total came to over $ 5. If I had to choose again, I would go to the snow truck, which is a fusion of shaved ice and ice cream that give it a creamer texture, and bolder defined flavor.

Me and my mother in law love this place. They don’t have as many flavors as matsumotos but the ice is real shaved ice. We went twice in our trip and I love it much better and it is less crowded and I thought the staff was very friendly.

I love this place, and now that I’m pregnant I crave it and drive all the way from Mililani to get some. I always get the coconut, mango, watermelon with gummy bears. The servings are big and they put lots of gummy bears. There are never long lines when I go, and you get your ice fast. My husband opted for a smoothie the last time we went and he enjoyed it, it was made with all natural ingredients which we like.

The shave ice here is very big… lots of ice. It is way worth your money and no loong lines. This may be my new shave ice spot!

One star for this shitty ass place with shitty ass service. Got a large rainbow for my nephew with ice cream, mochi and snow cap. When he got his shave and into the car, and driving off. I realized there was no snow cap on it, no ice cream or mochi!!! I paid almost 7 bucks with ice and syrup?! What a joke! San Lorenzo needs to stay as a damn bikini shop and not no shave ice place. I honestly would have went to matsuomotos but, shit was packed and I didn’t wanna wait in the long line and deal with the huge swarm of tourists.

Crappiest flavors ever. I ordered the lihing mui flavor and vanilla. There was barely any taste. It just tasted like straight ice. That’s why there’s now line, perhaps. Nice staff.

Since Aoki’s closed, I’ve only had shave ice on the North Shore once or twice, always Matsumoto’s. Today we decided to try San Lorenzo’s shave ice. I wish I’d read other Unilocal reviews first. 1 star for the employees, who were nice enough. 1 star for a shorter line than Matsumoto’s. What I didn’t care for is that it seems they’re nickel and diming customers. For example, the price of the shave ice includes ONE syrup flavor. Each additional flavor is an additional dollar. ??? If you have 2 flavors, it’s usually half and half, so it’s approximately the same amount of syrup overall. There is also a sign stating that additional spoons cost 15 cents. I didn’t need or want an extra spoon but really? Seems«penny wise, pound foolish».

Just don’t do it… even if you see a line. The ice is overpriced and doesn’t even taste like the flavor it is supposed to be. I ordered mango and it just tasted like sweet syrup. $ 15 down the drain for 3 bad ices.

Admittedly, they were a little slow, but I just had the best shave ice I’ve ever had. I got the small, a lychee-flavored pink dream. It waa big and fluffy with tons of syrup for $ 3.50. No line. I saw the cones from Matsumotos and they looked dinky, like a snow cone. Not sure why their line was out the door. Maybe we’ll go there next time, but San Lorenzo’s was great.

The parking area is a bit small, especially now since there is construction. Service for shave ice takes a bit long, but other than that it worth going to! I drove from waipahu just to try their Acai Bowl! When I got there, I was lucky they had one left! The younger short Caucasian girl was really nice and didn’t make me run to my car for my Hawaii ID. The wait for the acai bowl was kind of long but it was awesome! They freshly make the acai infront of you and add strawberries, granola, blueberries, honey, poppy seeds, and coconut flakes(that I didn’t want on mine). My boyfriend and I agree this place is number 1!
