Our party of 9 people arrived at 4:50 pm on a Friday evening and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. No reservations are allowed on Fridays. After approximately 45 minutes of waiting, another large party that arrived after us was seated. When we questioned the hostess, she informed us that the party was the owner’s family and they had reservations. Wow, they only take reservations for family! We talked to the owner and although he apologized, we certainly won’t be recommending the Hale House or returning anytime soon!

Amazing blue gill fish fry! Crispy but not greasy. Wonderful potato pancakes and applesauce. Friendly service. This is a tiny place, so if you go for Friday night fish fry, make sure to get there by 4 or 4:30 because the place fills up quick and you’ll be waiting quite a while.

Décor 10⁄10 Staff 10⁄10 Food 4⁄10 I don’t recommend their fish fry. It Tasted more like fish sticks, maybe it was the quality of the fish or maybe it was the subpar breading that they try to save with a excess amount of salt … Which ends up making it worse . I got the wings as well. They asked if I wanted ranch or blue cheese … The first ranch I got tasted like I was eating straight up dill. I thought maybe they gave me the wrong sauce so I ordered a second ranch. It came out the same. I told the waitress to tell the cooks to maybe go easy on the dill(in a half joking half serious tone). She said that is how it’s suppose to be, they don’t actually have ranch they only have the dill sauce they advertise as ranch. Why not just say that in the menu? Especially if someone has a allergy, you can’t advertise a dill sauce as ranch. Two completely different things . The portions are big on their meals . My friend got the salad and it was giant and looked fresh . We got the nachos as well which were giant, but the toppings were only enough to cover half the chips so we ended up leaving the other half of the chips on the plate. Let’s be honest, people get nachos for the fixins not the plain tortilla chips. Warning: they WILL charge you for each sauce you get … Including additional tarter for the fish fry … Each additional sauce is 50cents. Their burgers look really good so I would maybe suggest going that route. The salad looked amazing as well :) I do suggest the wings … Just get blue cheese unless your a dill fan . They do offer different and innovative food options . I say try this place if your really interested. I don’t necessarily recommend it but I don’t recommend staying away either. I would say if your going to come, maybe do it tapas style and order one of their unique dish options :)

The fried cod is perfectly done. I skipped the potato and opted for a side salad. Hearty portions of each. One thing I love about this restaurant is the staff. They are always friendly and attentive. I haven’t experimented with the menu but there are some items that I’m excited to try next time.. the elvis burger is on my list.

My daughter and I stopped here Saturday night for dinner. It was early, 5:00pm, and not at all crowded. Drinks were served almost immediately. Our server came by three times to see if we were ready to order, though she didn’t leave us much time between each inquiry. We shared 3 appetizers: the Whitnall Park nachos, cheese curds and the duck potato skins. We’d had the cheese curds before, and they were as good as I remembered. The nachos were huge, and would have been enough for the two of us on their own. Spicy, lots of ground beef, my daughter and I both loved them. The potato skins were good, heaped with duck, though the duck could have used a touch more seasoning. The only negative was the slow service when we were ready to go. My daughter wanted a t-shirt, and even after the wait while our server found out if they sold tees, she chose to stop by other tables rather than just grab the shirt. Boxes and the check were also slow to come. Baffling, as there were still more open tables than full ones. Good food(a 4) beats mediocre service(a 3).

What an unexpected find in this area. The beer list is fantastic. Their burgers are great and can be built to order. Get the bacon and haystack onion rings. The onion rings are some of the best I ever had. They have a special every Sunday related to the Packers’ opponents. I think that’s a fun idea. I haven’t had the time to partake but a lot of them sound really good. This place is worth the drive!

Best fish fry in the area! Loved the perch and blue gill along with the potato pancakes. Make sure to order the cheese curds while you wait. Great beer selection and the bloody marys are good, just missing a piece of bacon. Like them on fb so you can see the specials they put out during the week!

My friends both enjoyed their meal, but my nachos were blah at best. Taco Bell has better and that’s pathetic! The place was packed too, we had to eat at the bar at 8pm on a Saturday night. Hoping if I ever go back that the food and service are better.

The service was awesome! Even during Friday night fish fry rush. Multiple choices baked fried cod, perch, blue gill and a fishermen platter with a satisfying portion of each. Make sure you order the homemade potato pancakes combined with their Cinnamon applesauce taste like grandma’s home made pie. Plus salted rye and creamy Cole slaw complement this meal. Will definitely bring us back again and again. Enjoy highly recommend!

I’m so glad I gave The Hale House a try. The service was friendly and helpful. The environment was casual and fun. The food was fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable. It was a bit loud but we dined here during a Badgers game so that was to be expected. Good place to watch a game, grab a drink, or have sandwich/burger. I had the sunrise burger, which included an egg(any style), bacon, cheddar cheese, and a hashbrown. It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The ranch dressing provided with my side salad was excellent. At the recommendation of our charming waitress, my mom and I shared the fried cheese curds as an appetizer. They were, by far, the best cheese curds I’ve ever had. I will be returning to The Hale House as often as possible. Hales Corners is lucky to have another great casual dining/bar business.

First timers here, but very impressed. The parking lot was a bit small. But is made up for with street parking. The exterior is a drastic change from it’s former life as a Chinese restaurant. They do offer for your viewing pleasure two photo albums of the restaurants transformation. The new owners did a superb job. The interior is very warm and inviting. For you people that can’t put your phones and laptops down, you are covered. Almost every table and even the bar has electrical outlets with USB ports for charging. The menu is simple, but yet covers a lot of food ground. Most of the items on the menu are made fresh inhouse. With the exception of their very tasty fries, which they purchase. The food was piping hot and very mouth watering. If I can make one suggestion, try the cheese curds. They are unlike anything you have probably had before. They do have a full bar, and a great selection of bottled beer to boot.

My husband and I recently stopped in at The Hale House, at the suggestion of a friend. All I can say is, thanks for the recommendation, my friend! We had a fantastic experience. Jen the bartender and Michael the server were both excellent. And we love the fact that this place is so close to home. The Hale House features a full bar and a great menu. They have appetizers, burgers, chicken wings, and more. I highly recommend the build your own burger. You can choose from a variety of cheeses and toppings to complete your burger, and they will cook your burger to order. Some of the options do come with an extra cost, but they are so worth it. While we were there, Michael brought out 2 photo albums that contained before and after pictures of the renovations that were done to the restaurant. Hale House, you guys did a fantastic job! For those who are not aware: this place used to be a Chinese restaurant. The transformation is amazing. Goodbye outdated wood paneling, hello open concept and modern! We will absolutely be back again.

My Husband and I have been to the Hale House a couple of times now. We were excited to try it because it’s only a few minutes from our house and looked like a cool place. Neither time have we been disappointed. The staff is attentive, and the food is great. They make everything from scratch, And all the ingredients are fresh and of good quality. The prices are good for what you receive, especially for the toppings on the burgers. Most recently I ordered a Build Your Own Burger, with gouda, caramelized onions, bacon, and avocado. It was delicious, as was my husbands Beaufort pulled pork sandwich with house made chips. I also chose a salad w/balsamic vinaigrette as my side, and was really pleased that there was not an additional charge like a lot of places. Their balsamic vinaigrette is also different from other restaurants because it’s thicker, which makes it even better. We’ll definitely be returning, and are really glad that this place opened in the neighborhood!

OMG! The food here is amazing! Everything is made fresh even down to their salad dressings and croutons! I ordered the South by Southwest burger and my husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. Both were outstanding! The acoustics need some work because when they’re busy and music is loud, it’s difficult to have a conversation. Will DEFINITELY be back! You can’t go wrong with this place!

Just left, I have to say for a place that recently opened they have things flowing well. Service was great. The food came out quick and was hot. The prices are a bit higher than the area but I didn’t mind one bit paying more for the quality of the food. We had the Wings with jalepenos as an appetizer and each had a phlly cheese make the way we like. Ingredients were fresh not canned jalepanos or mushrooms.

The Hale House opened a little over a week ago and I’ve been eager to try it out. Since I get to hear the local gossip from many sources, I heard the place had some trouble finally getting to their grand opening. I was quite happy to hear they had finally made it, and have seen the parking lot consistently filled with cars. Yay! I wanted to try it for myself so tonight my husband and I went for dinner. They only had appetizers and wings. Apparently the full menu is ready but the kitchen is not. At least not until this Wednesday(5÷20÷15). That was kind of disappointing but it looks like it will be good. We did order some shredded duck confit filled potato skins which were delicious. There were several layers of flavor to this appetizer and for $ 10, it’s a bit steep, but I feel this one’s worth it. We placed an order of wings — and this I took issue with — but Ill explain in a moment. The wings were well cooked but the flavors were a little… not great. The maple bourbon sauce smelled great but I didn’t find it to have much actual maple flavoring. We also purchased an order of the mango jalapeño wings that didn’t have much mango flavor. Instead they reminded me of the jalapeño flavor of Kruncher’s potato chips. With wings you get a choice of ranch or blue cheese dressing. We chose the blue cheese and I was disappointed. It was very runny and I couldn’t taste the funky cheese. My main issue is this — an order of 6 wings is $ 7 and an order of 12 is $ 12. We were charged for two orders of six, which I guess is technically correct, but at other places we have been to, you can order a dozen wings with two different sauces at no extra charge. There’s no secret that the wings are just drenched in sauce after frying, so I feel we should have only been charged for the price of a dozen and saved two dollars. Bottom line is that I’ve had better wings elsewhere and the split pricing was unexpected. If it was noted on the menu, then we both somehow missed it. Here are some of my pro’s and con’s: PRO * I love the industrial look inside. Exposed brick, funky lights, wood floors. * They have four televisions mounted that I could see * The staff are friendly and attentive. * The place is kept very clean. * Easy to access on Forest Home from either direction. * Nice beer selection. CON * Very little parking available, but it appears that after a certain point you can use the business lot next door. * It’s loud, and stays loud. It’s hard to hold a conversation when the bar is full. * Even when the shades are drawn, the sun still pierces through and makes for an uncomfortable dining experience. * Menu items are expensive, probably higher than they should be for this area. * One toilet in the women’s room. For a restaurant/bar, this is unfortunate. At least it’s clean. I’m sure that I’ll go back at some point, but I’m not making plans to do so any time soon. It was a very expensive night out for appetizers and drinks.
