DONOTGETTHEMILKTEAWITHBOBA. I warned you in advance. All the milk tea that I have had comes with a rich, caramel-like color that comes from the tea itself and milk. Here, they straight up put water with some type of powder(I’m guessing thats your tea) and then 2% milk. What? Milk tea isn’t supposed to be powdered and if you’re getting powder then you should already know it won’t be as good. The red flag was the color for me. Don’t know where the sugar was but it was overly sweet and tasted like vanilla milk. No tea aspect to it whatsoever. If you want real milk tea, go to basically any other café like Sharetea, Gongcha, or even Quickly could do a better job. & that’s saying something. I had to give it back to them and ask for a pepsi because I was scared to get anything else house-made. I also made the mistake of ordering a sandwich that took almost 20 minutes for them to make. There were at least 3 people working and nobody in line. I don’t see a reason for it to take 20 minutes to make a sandwich. I forgot exactly which sandwich I ordered but it had spam it in and way too much mayonnaise or whatever the white sauce was. The focaccia bread(bad choice for this type of sandwich) was soggy after being put in a pizza oven(?). There were just so many things wrong with it. I guess if I had to go back, I’d just settle for the froyo but based on some reviews maybe that’s not even a good idea either. It sucks, I really wanted to like this place because it looked cute with its hawaiian theme.

I really hope the owner would read their reviews… Maybe she can learn something or two.

Okay, apparently the quality is really uneven. Went back today and had a different experience entirely, complete with old-tasting tea and a falling-apart musubi with WAY too much teriyaki glaze… I guess you have to catch them on the right day.(Previously, the person who made the food was a woman in her 20s. This time it was a different woman. Maybe that made a difference?) Anyway, last time I gave it 4 stars. This time it gets 2. I’ll split the difference and call it 3. But if I pop my head in next time and it’s not the younger woman working, I’m definitely not coming here again.

If I owned this place I would fire the whole front staff. Completely unprofessional. Hot dog tasted old. To much playing around. Sad because this could be a good business.

Stopped by Nano’s in the cute Half Moon Bay downtown area for dessert after an early dinner at Sam’s Chowder House. Wanted ice cream but there doesn’t seem to be an actual ice cream shop in HMB anymore. However, I wasn’t disappointed at Nano’s. I had their creamy, delicious vanilla frozen yogurt with chocolate sprinkles in a small cup. Apart from being really good, it was a generous portion(which I wasn’t expecting). Don’t be fooled by the small cup size — they filled the cup with frozen yogurt, scooped in a bunch of sprinkles, then added a large swirl of yogurt on top, and then deposited more sprinkles on top. I love it when places do both, instead of just on top — you get to enjoy toppings throughout your entire dessert-devouring process. My friend got a vanilla/chocolate frozen yogurt swirl with slivered almonds topping; his medium cup portion was quite big and he couldn’t finish the whole thing, but he said the froyo was delish and«tasted like soft serve.» It looks like they serve a bunch of casual food and beverages there, too. We’ll be back for seconds of the froyo tomorrow.

Ordered the Bubble Milk Tea, and was handed unsweetened ice tea. I asked them where’s the boba, and they dumped in boba. Then i asked why is it unsweetened and how come there’s no milk in it, so she dumped in syrup and half and half, and it was disgusting. She took it back and made me a different drink, hence the extra star for the effort. Never get«Bubble Mik Tea», i really don’t think they know what it is.

I give it one star for how cute the place looks. I was looking forward to shave ice and my daughter-the milk tea. We were highly disappointed! The milk tea tasted horrible, my daughter couldn’t even finish it! The shave ice with yogurt was awful too! Not to mention the service was so unfriendly without even a smile-will not go here again!

Our yogurt was soup before we were even out the door and the condiments were either generic or super stale. The staff is mostly high school kids(but that’s to be expected for a yogurt shop in a small town) so it’s not about the service here, but the yogurt used to be good!

I was really surprised by the flavors of mango and coconut together on shaved ice. The portions are pretty big. My friends and I, the three of us, shared a small and we were all pretty satisfied. If you do not want shaved ice, there are also yogurt options.

Went here because it was hot outside. Half the flavors were empty. They ran out of ice and I had to settle on a cherry yogurt. It tasted exactly like a cherry gogurt. Plus they had the heater on and felt like a hot yoga room. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but hopefully this is a wake up call for this place.

Had a blueberry yogurt which was good. We sat in the garden which needs a total makeover or at least a good cleaning. With a little sprucing up the patio would be such a nice place to enjoy a snack. The inside of the shop is so inviting to bad the atmosphere doesn’t extend to the patio. Three stars based on the disappointing patio.

If you’re looking for some good yogurt, find another place. On the Saturday night, at the end of June they had only three flavors. None of which was the basic vanilla. Service was indifferent, and the prices were high. This strikes me as a place that tries to do too many things, none of which very well.

Was in Half Moon Bay for the day and decided to stop in here because they had boba tea. The service was terrible. The kid behind the counter seemed like he hated his job and didn’t want to be there, and the boba milk tea tasted completely watered down. We tossed them in the garbage the second we walked out.

Located in the heart of downtown Half Moon Bay. So very convenient to walk to. I was craving some dessert when I got here, so this placed popped up first. Keep in mind this review is for the frozen yogurt only. Nano’s yogurt is gluten free for all those who are allergic to gluten. The sizes vary in small $ 2.50, medium $ 3.75, large $ 5.50, and XL $ 9.90. They had only four flavors when I came in: Vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, and coconut. I got the raspberry flavor and love it. It was tarty and the consistency was thick. Just the way I like it. Ask for samples first before you buy to avoid any disappointments. Enjoy!

Nano’s isn’t bad, but can vary quite a bit depending on the day and who is working. I’ve gone in only for them to have just 1 flavor actually operating. Sometimes they are super stingy with the toppings, which all cost extra, while other times the toppings are more than plentiful. Its one of 2 options in HMB and the one I would pick every time, but I just wish it was a bit more consistent. The shakes are awesome and smoothies are not cheap, but are great. The hot dog/fro yo combo is strange, but it works and overall its a place I will continue to stop at.

Service was really slow while lines were out the door. The theory of supply and demand pretty much sums up the existence of Nano’s. The interaction between the supply of a resource — the only yogurt shop on main street — and the demand for that resource — people want something to cool off with. So I’m not surprise about the long lines or about the servers who take their time. I guess they could invest in a faster ice shaver. The frozen yogurt was average with about 5 flavors available. If you were going to serve shaved ice go for gold — have some Mac nut ice cream and other toppings, yea snow-cap it too! But at Nano’ it’s just the ice and syrup. They do serve sandwiches and a few hot food items. Saw spam musubi too. I did like the space a lot and they have a nice back area outdoor seating. I guess if you are the only frozen yogurt shop on Main Street you can afford to cut some corners. People will still come, where else will they go?
