Not a cute bakery with breakfast/lunch options or seating. This place only has pastries, sweets, and full loaves of bread. You order at the counter and take your food to go. They only take cash and will not slice loaves of bread for you. I suspect most of their business is commercial. When I visited on a Sunday morning, I was the only English speaking customer present. As an immigrant, I applaud a business for adapting to different cultures, however I was looking for a different vibe. We ordered one lemon poppy seed loaf, one glazed donut, and one cinnamon roll. Everything was just ok and my kids who normally looove pastries didn’t finish anything. Overall just ok and does not merit a four star rating on Unilocal

Stopped in to have a depressing éclair(very sweet frosting and whipped cream instead of chocolate and pastry cream) and ok garlic rosemary dinner rolls. Disappointing, it seems so lovable and kitschy. They must be popular for their bread, as far as I can tell.

I stopped by here with my BF as we were walking around Downtown Half Moon Bay. The bakery is really small but it seems to get a lot of foot traffic. We bought the Half Moon Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Mini Carrot Cake. The cookie was really hard and dry. Definately not what we had been anticipating. I think this was due to mislabeling the item. This was more of a shortbread cookie then an actual«CC Cookie.» The carrot cake was delicious though. We ended up wishing we had order the cupcake and not the mini version. I would have given this bakery a higher rating but that moon cookie was just not appealing.

Very disappointing when you show up during business hours and as you walk up, the person working locks the door and closes. Plenty of items left but I guess they had somewhere better to be. Will be buying sandwiches and goodies elsewhere.

Stumbled across this gem after lunching downtown. I noticed the shelves with different loaves of freshly baked bread(blueberry, cinnamon apple crumb, lemon poppy seed, orange, etc), but the area dedicated to their fresh pumpkin bread caught my eye. I’m so glad I decided on this because I’ve been feasting on it ever since! Best pumpkin bread I’ve ever had. My parents decided to try a slice of the mango cheesecake and lemon cheesecake. I’m not a huge lemon fan, but this was one of the best lemon desserts I’ve had! It was more of a cake and cheesecake texture combination, but still very good. I would pass on the mango cheesecake; it tasted like original cheesecake with mango jam. Aside from that, everything seemed very yummy– don’t leave here without a loaf of one of their breads!

Want to give it 3.5 stars. PLUS: — donuts are fresh(seems easy, but many places can’t seem to do it) — cookies have a great quality CONS: — no bagels — too short hours(both open and close) ONEVERYVERYODD thing I’ve noticed: They don’t take any form of plastic… yet they run a commercial bakery in the back. Really??? In 2016, they can’t get a simple cheap terminal or a Square or… curious if the till is reported ;)

Cute place but coffee is meh and bakery goods are meh. Husband and I were excited to buy some beans to take home, but after tasting their coffee, we decided not. Had the almond bear claw, which was too sweet and the bread was pretty dry, not moist.

Half Moon Bay, CA On Main St. Initially thought this would be an A-Ok approach as they have a nice selection of goods. Had a hard time to decide as everything looked fine. Decided on two cookies, asked the young lady if the cookies were soft, she said yes. Bought them, left, tried them out and they were hard… Boom 2 Stars. Gently positioned the cookies in the bag near the trash can on the same side of the street 50 steps away, hoping someone may find a sweet treat. Again, just wanted a soft cookie and got the opposite.

Wow. I just had THE most lovely experience with Cynthia. She is such a wonderful employee I’m not sure who is the owner of the bakery but because of her we will continue to go there as often as I possibly can. Her exemplary customer service blew me out of the water and left me feeling happy there are people like her in this world. Thank you Cynthia for doing your job well and making customers leave with a smile.

We came here near the end of the day. There were an assortment of cookies and desserts behind the case. I got a ginger pumpkin cookie. It was delicious! It was covered in sugar but not too sweet, which was perfect. In addition to usual choices, they had macaroons, pumpkin cookie cream cheese sandwiches, and half moon shaped chocolate chip cookies. The girl behind the counter was super nice. The interior is small but it’s obvious this place has a lot of history. I think it’s a place that locals and tourists would both like. =]

First timer. This guy/cashier greeted us w/o a smile. That was unpleasant Plus they need to clean their bathroom, mop their floors. Coffee was so, so & not too hot just room temperature.

My cousin recommended we stop by this old bakery before we left town. I’m sure glad we did! The pesto artichoke bread is amazing and so was the pumpkin bread that we brought home. I can tell that this business has been around for a long time and has a great reputation as there were many people in line for their delicious treats.

Found this little bakery while walking down Main st. in HMB, tons of pumpkin spiced goodies. Decided to get a small pumpkin pie, which was about $ 3. It was nicely sized, enough for 1 person. Had a nice crust and the pumpkin filling was spiced. The perfect fall treat!

Rating just for one item — the bacon maple donut. Crispy, chopped up bacon on a thick coat of maple icing. BEST donut I’ve ever had. Definitely unlike the normal ones that have dry, chewy bacon with generic tasting icing. Cash only. Get there early or they might out.

Ehh nothing special. I was craving something sweet as we walked through Half Moon Bay’s downtown area and this bakery sure did disappoint —Chocolate chip cookie: only cost us $ 1! just okay tasted like a packaged cookie —half moon chocolate chip cookie: even cheaper at $.85, this had short bread texture but again wasn’t impressed maybe i got the wrong thing? NOTE: Cash only

Not bad… I’m sure we went way too late to get the full effect of their talents(closer to 1pm) and the staff was not super friendly; but again, bakers get up super early so I’m sure they’ve been up and working for the past 12 hours so I didn’t expect much. Everything we tried was tasty but nothing was worth calling special attention to.

A-OK. They have lots of different cookies. I really liked the lemon ricotta — very lemony. The other cookies were OK.

We were passing through half moon bay, and after going to the beach for a little bit we were looking for a quick snack before we drove down to Santa Cruz. We stumbled upon this little bakery in downtown HMB. They have a variety of options, including a serious selection of donuts as well as cookies and I think even some pizza slices. My wife went for a half moon chocolate chip cookie and ginger cookie. The chocolate chip cookie was shaped like a half moon(cute!), and was pretty tasty. It was very cakey, almost like a scone or something, and not that sweet. Overall quite good. The ginger cookie was good too. It was a soft ginger cookie sandwich with this cream cheese icing in the middle. It was mouthwateringly good. I went for the maple bacon donut, which was a round donut with maple frosting and bacon chunks on top. I’m not sure what kind of bacon this was, because it didn’t have a lot of fat and was a little bit dry but still super tasty. Maybe it was turkey bacon? Nevertheless, it was a nice addition to the top of a mapley donut. I’d definitely go back for a snack sometime in the future. My favorite was the ginger sandwich cookie.

This feels more like a donut shop than a bakery to a degree, but does have lots of cookies, breads, pastries and other sweet carb delights. I had the Bear’s Claw for a morning breakfast snack and it was good. There’s another bakery on the same street, Moonside, which has more cakes and pies. HMB Bakery has lots of stuff you can buy quickly and affordably, and is a good casual place. Parking is easy in Half Moon Bay.
