CLOSED. I will miss m coffee! Tried to go for a coffee today. Looks like there may be a new coffee joint to take its place.

I passed this coffee shop on my way to the bakery next door and decided to stop for a latte… I should have looked before ordering. The espresso machine was incredibly dirty and clearly had not been cleaned for days. The steamer had coats of old milk on it and and some of it turned pink. I wanted to tell her to cancel my order but she had already handed it to me and asked for $ 6. Never coming here again.

Just passing through on a cloudy day and wanted some tea. The prices were great, especially coming from San Francisco. The Drinks were good, and the staff was friendly. Cash Only, so be prepared for that.

I love your coffee! I really appreciate locally grown coffee so I like that this coffee is from San Francisco. I really enjoyed your iced vanilla latte. It’s a bit of a drive but whenever I visit Half Moon Bay I will try to stop by to sample your coffee :) Pretty picture of Marilyn you have also. I think perhaps you should expand to the Campbell area. My mom also liked your espresso, very flavorful. Thank you :)

This is a wonderful place. Great coffee. Nice atmosphere. Terrific lox and bagels(which Max will pack for you if you’re heading to airport or otherwise want to take out. We loved it here. And there is a great bakery right next door.

This is a charming little place. While not«magical» like Pergolessi in Santa Cruz or White Raven in Felton, it has real charm. It deserves more than the four stars, but is not quite up to the five star level. With restaurants, I want good food and convienience. With coffee shop, I want a pleasant comfortable atmosphere, and McCoffee scores big here. The place feels like a coast side home. The painted hardwood floors are blue, but the paint is chipped away in many places to reveal the previous green paint. As long as they are friendly and competent, I don’t care who works there. The guy here kinda reminded me of Wilford Brimley. The woman who came in later was much more along the lines of the baristas I am used to seeing these days. I also really like the non-matching mugs. It looks like a combination of(impulse buys) «I’ve got to have that mug!» and(need) «We need some more mugs. Go to Goodwill and see what they have.»… Quite charming! Check out the bathroom. The toilet seat may not be well affixed to the toilet itself, the bathroom and hallway leading to it have the feel of a fort a father might build in the attic for the kids. I’d love to see this place take to final steps to being a five star establishment… First, don’t charge extra for credit cards. Charging an extra 50¢ for using a credit card is quite annoying, and not a positive way to start a visit. Increase prices 10% and drop the credit card charge and new customers will be much happier, and more likely to make a second visit. Second, make your own chai. There is a jar of spices above the coffee maker labeled«Ctenmai Chai» that sure looks like chai spices, but my chai was poured out of grocery store boxes… part Tsao and part Oregon Chai. A couple simple and small changes and this place gets five stars.

Went today and got a mocha and a toasted bagel. They were both ok, I don’t consider myself an expert even though I drink way too much coffee and rarely get a café mocha anyway. The problem is the place was filthy. Most of the tables were dirty and some had dirty plates, napkins and cups stacked. I was there an hour while my wife shopped and not only did the plates never get picked up or any table get cleaned by staff, another customer finally moved them to a smaller table so their family could use the larger table. As I left the dishes were still piled up but now also a second table has dishes. There were two employees and at times one was not really doing anything and for awhile during a lull the one behind the counter sat and looked out of the window, doing nothing. I picked the table that was least dirty but it was covered in crumbs, as were the chairs. When the young lady behind the counter brought my coffee she watched and held the coffee while I was wiping off the crumbs from the table! Never offered to clean it and watched as I threw the napkins into a near overflowing trash can. Floors were not surprisingly dirty. I’m not a neat/clean freak by any stretch, so for me to complain this was pretty bad. The place is very convenient to downtown HMB and has free wifi which was nice for waiting but the experience was sub-par. No issues with friendliness of staff.

Went inside one evening for refuge from the cold, wind, and fog and it was heaven. It was super warm and cozy. It’s a cute size, not too big, and they have wooden booth seating that wraps around the front of the huge store window. The’res a ton of colorful pillows on the entire booth too, which really adds to the chill vibe of the store. **They charge $ 0.50 if you use a credit card. Their ice cream is good and reasonably priced! I recommend the kid’s scoop because they still give you a lot of ice cream but it’s $ 2.25, a dollar cheaper than the normal one scoop. You can get two flavors on the normal one scoop, though, versus only one flavor on the kid’s scoop. They also have smoothies, rootbeer floats, and they can even add a scoop of ice cream on top of your espresso/coffee for around $ 5. I haven’t tried any of these, but cool idea! They have about 6 flavors of ice cream at any given time. I got the BIKO kid’s scoop($ 2.25) and it was delicious! The mint and chocolate fudge is also a good one!

I love the vibe of M Coffee, and I can easily see myself hanging out here regularly if only they were near me. We stayed and hung out instead of getting our drinks to go. And the different mugs which held our drinks reinforced the whole«hanging out at my friend’s house» atmosphere. The barista and cashiers are very friendly and the drinks are quite good. The latte was delicious, and I loved that they have a decent selection of teas. It is a laidback place that invites one to enjoy his/her drink. And they never glare at you for dawdling. And they have perpetually smiling baristas. And they have great drinks. Yup, I am a fan!

People nowadays are so used to Starbucks or Peets, and possibly other fancy mainstream coffee shops — that they forget what coffee is supposed to taste like. This place provides its locals freshly brewed espressos and coffees along with great customer service. The«baristas» are friendly and consistent. Since it’s a small local coffee shop, you don’t have to worry if your«coffee will taste the same as how it did yesterday» because most likely, the same person will be making your drink. Don’t let the old fashioned décor fool you. Coffee is great. People are great.

Seemed like a great place to get some tea on a raining day while I wait to meet family for breakfast. Seemed like a lot of people behind the counter, unsure where the line started. and who was customers and who was there visiting friends. Anyways, I got my tea. Sat down and watched the clock. Then another customer sat next to me. Ok normal. Then a girl who worked there sat next to her and started chatting. Still pretty norm. Then she started to talk about how she babysits for a family where the mom was«hella old» when she had her kid. 40 years old! And then that she thought hmb had enough art galleries and the new one opening on Main Street is «so retarded». This is not normal! I totally understand talking to your girl friends and bitching about your job or small town(I did it when I was younger)…but not in public next to a customer. I just felt that it was so unprofessional. I think the coffee/tea was fine, nothing wrong there… just upsetting their employee was so open with her feelings in her place of work. If she didn’t work there she would have just been a rude fellow customer, but because I know she works there it makes me not want to go back.

this is somewhat mediocre coffee, but it’s convenient in downtown HMB. especially if you are stuck in town like for the pumpkin festival. the chai latte is just Tazo chai with steamed milk. the espresso here is not great but not bad. didn’t seem like the coffee came out fully extracted.

We came in 10 minutes before closing time, there were people at a few tables and it looked cozy and cute, but it was obvious by the utterly awful customer service that we were not welcome. What an unpleasant experience.

A great coffee shop to stop by to grab a nice refreshing cup of coffee and a delicious lunch or brunch. Always stop by before work to grab a cup and sometimes a yummy bagel with avocado and jalapeño spread. That is my recommendation for food. Staff are friendly and always carrying a smile.

This place is so wonderful! The owner is usually behind the counter, and you can just sit and watch all the locals come in and tell them their story of the day. It’s as if time stops for once in our hectic lives, and we can just TRULY enjoy a cup of coffee and life. Sit over the window watching traffic and pedestrians go by, and take in a small town with a heart of gold. There is such a big sense of community here, and it takes you back to communities were like without the hustle and bustle, and you might be able to observe here how some true friends and locals who love this town come together.

As omelette lover, finally I found the place where are the best omelette I can eat. M Coffee can beat any breakfast place! Great selection of omelette, excellent side dished choice, and on the top of it, very nice staff. Try their omelette with mushrooms, or with bacon, veggie… Oh, well, try any omelette there, you won’t make mistake! And great location and tables outside. There two thing I would like them to fix: could you guys serve breakfast, and I mean omelettes, whole day. And could you guys open location closer to my home: San Mateo! Because of you, I have to make such a long trip from San Mateo to Halfmoon Bay, almost everyother weekend. Thanks M Coffee!

I can see how this spot with free wifi could have been oh-so-cool back in the day. However like its tired wooden booths, I have experienced better. Tried their latte($ 3) and Americano($ 2), and was not impressed. The latte lacked flavor and depth, while the Americano lacked a telltale crema and tasted more like your average cup of joe. Found it interesting that in a semi-full café, the only sound you could hear were two women gabbing away. In today’s day and age, folks seem more interested on what’s on their screens rather than their fellow human company.

I’ve been coming here for more than 10 years and for some reason haven’t written a review for it yet! So I’ll just chime in now to say that this is a great little coffee shop! The people that work here are nice, same with most the people that come in for coffee. I haven’t eaten lunch here in years but back when I did it was good. Nothing CRAZY awesome or anything but good grilled sandwiches, quesadillas and good soup. They make great coffee and chocolate drinks!

This is a cute little place in the historic down town Half Moon Bay. We originally came here to switch it up from studying in a café in San Francisco. It’s unfortunate that I thought the change of scenery would make me more studious, but it turns out that coffee shops are coffee shops are coffee shops, and I get equally distracted with my incessant people watching no matter where I am! There’s free wifi, sandwiches, and ice cream too! What more could you want? The tea was looseleaf and tasty, and everyone was friendly. This seemed like Cheers, where everyone knew everyone else’s name… except a coffee shop instead of a bar. I don’t know why, but it still weirds me out.

I drove over to HMB on a whim at lunch from Foster City. I stopped in at some Moon place, which looked nice… but newly remodeled. The sandwiches were $ 10 a piece… just the sandwich. Either they have the best damn sandwiches in the world(which is possible) or they need to pay for their new remodel. I decided to be frugal and check out other places. Boy, am I glad I did. I happened into«M Coffee» and had the«Mac’s Special Panini» and a Latte($ 3.00 for a latte?) and they were both excellent. The sandwich was the perfect blend of flavors: tomato, kalamata olives, feta, and spike(whatever that is). It was toasted to perfection, and the service was super prompt. I really felt that every lunch time should feel this good. It was a great break from the rat race and I got back to work refreshed and ready to hit it, like it was a new day. I am not usually big on hippie places like HMB, because they usually think not having meat on the menu makes them special. If other places took the time to select such tasty ingredients as M Coffee the hippies might still be able to make love and not war, instead of remodeling. Excellent Food, Speedy Service, Sandwich and a Latte for under $ 10.
