Really enjoyed this spot. Started with the menu and the great prices. Then the shorter lady with the layered hair was so friendly and helped us decide what to get. Just great welcoming service. We will visit every time we come to half moon bay. Only negative thing is I’m diet

Unfortunately after eating here this morning, my romantic weekend in Half Moon Bay with my beau was cut short by what I can only assume is a case of food poisoning. Within an hour of finishing my meal (the only thing I’ve eaten today and therefore the only potential culprit) I began to feel extraordinary gastric distress. After a very uncomfortable 40 mile long car ride home I proceeded to projectile vomit the tuna melt I ate here, mostly still intact which is beyond gross. Definitely didn’t stop with the barfing, but I’ll spare you the rest of the gory details.
The rest of the «highlights»: one bathroom for the whole shop, and could definitely stand a good cleaning. The toilet and sink were filthy, there was discarded toilet paper on the floor and around the garbage can. Ick.
The wait time to order was several minutes and only one person was ahead of us.
After placing our order we went to an empty table near the window, and after I was unable to satisfactorily clean it with the napkins that were available we switched to another table instead. The new table (which we ended up sitting at) was covered in crumbs and syrup. How hard is it to wipe down a table?
My iced tea was more like room temperature. My sandwich actually tasted fine and looked okay, but considering that I became so sick from eating it that I spent a solid hour projectile vomiting it’s remains into my toilet when I should have been reading a book on the beach I’d say it was definitely not alright.
Gross, gross, gross.
I typically take reviews seriously and I should’ve known when I saw 3 stars that we shouldn’t eat here. Guess we fell into the trap anyway because of its proximity to our hotel. Thanks to my mistake I’m nursing the worst stomach ache and sipping on water feeling like absolute and literal crap. Thanks for ruining my Sunday, HMB coffee co!

The steamed milk with a touch of Chocolate was great.

What’s not to hate about this place! Great coffee, and baked goods, muffins, pastries and egg dishes. The patio is my favorite place as you get a nice breeze! I haven’t tried the lunch yet. A popular place on the weekends.
If you just want coffee, avoid the line and put a dollar in the box next to coffee mugs and dispensers to the right of cashier on counter.
