Buyer BEWARE! I give 5 stars for the actual donuts and 1 for their sneaky practices! I sent my daughter to pick up 2 dozen donuts, we warned her about not letting the owner pick the donuts for her as they will pick the ones that are more expensive or not selling well. What is normally the same price as a basic donut in other bakeries are a higher price here… funny, my daughter came home with ALL twists, jelly filled ect(higher priced) When she asked for a plain glazed the lady came out with ONE from the back! $ 26 for 2 dozen donuts!

This may be a quaint little(donuts shop) but they have the worlds Best Eggrolls. You absolutely have to try them. I believe they buy them from Chinatown but cook them on site. You have to try them as they are simply the best!

Donuts are standard as far as flavor, but they just don’t make enough of them and run out way too early. I went two days in a row between 9a and 10:30am. First day, they were completely out of basic glazed donuts! I’ve never experienced this at any donut shop. The next day, they were out of every donut except plain and a few donut holes! And they already tasted old and not fresh by this hour. I can’t imagine a hundred people get there right at opening, but either way, they run out way too early. The lady there was friendly but didn’t seem concerned about being out of what they are supposed to be selling by mid-morning. My kids and I were disappointed. Will not return if we are in the area.

I’m not big on donuts, but whenever I go to Half Moon Bay, I always make a stop at Sunshine Donuts! Their donuts are so delicious and worth the hour and half drive from our home in Mountain House! Their donuts are never greasy, always fresh and fluffy! They also have egg rolls, that my daughter loves. Being that she is very picky when it comes to food, she will eat at least three or more every time we go to HMB. So, if your in the mood for donuts, take the drive to Half Moon Bay, it will be well worth it!

The owner gives most of this place it’s kudos. To be honest, the donuts are just mediocre. Although the apple fritter is slightly over baked, I still believe it’s 1 of the better ones here, the old fashion maple as well. However, good customer service, fair prices and a wide variety of coffees will conclude Sunshine Donuts with a fair 3 star rating.

Nom nom nom. Ham and cheese croissants and EGGROLLS. The service is friendly. The food is fresh. Make sure to get your ham(or turkey) and cheese croissant warmed up… If you are getting the EGGROLLS(OMG so flipping good) get an extra sauce and make sure you arrive early because they sell out!

The owner and operator was as warm and kind as anyone could imagine. She knew many of the customers ahead of me by name, which I thought was very nice. Their doughnuts are very good, BUT the big differentiator for me are two things. Really awesome egg rolls. Yes, egg rolls. And, ham and cheese stuffed croissants. OMG! It’s the only thing I get there now… to die for. They took the core of the doughnut shop and said, «what else can we do well with this equipment». The egg rolls and stuffed croissants are just excellent. For those naysayers, it IS a doughnut shop. And for a doughnut shop, they go well above and beyond expectations for me.

Sadly, I tried the doughnuts and I was not satisfied. I only managed to eat the chocolate off the raised doughnut I got and threw the rest away. My suggestion — drive to Pacifica and go to Doughnut Time !!!

I’m give it one star to help bring the overall star rating down. Plus the donuts are not good at all. I was drawn in by the high star rating and I don’t want others fall for the same. The donuts are not any better than Safeway which is pretty bad. They have an odd sheen on them which transfers to an odd crisp to the dough.. They are inexpensive, but it doesn’t help if you can’t eat it. I could not even finish one, and neither could my gf. And one does not make egg rolls and donuts at the same place! That’s gross. Sadly there are no good donuts in Half Moon Bay. Best option is have a muffin, or drive to Pacifica for Donut Time.

Egg rolls at a donut shop? That’s what the sign advertised, and I couldn’t resist. They were fresh, yummy and only a buck! If you’re in Half Moon Bay and in need of a fried, cheap snack(yes, sometimes fried snacks are needed) — check it out!

Good donuts, and boy are they cheap! These guys do cake donuts better than they do the raised variety(or maybe the raised were just a tad overdone on my visit). The people here are very nice. I have heard good things about their egg rolls, but haven’t tried them yet. I mean, how many fried food meals can a person have in a single day?!?

Skip Safeway and stop by this place… Great coffee with the best donuts in town. Easy in, easy out. Friendly service. Dont forget to try the egg rolls. Very convenient stop if you are on the go!

Best egg rolls in town! I know this seems strange, but they have the most AMAZING pork & veg egg rolls. Their dipping sauce for them is spectacular. Truth be told, I only buy donuts when they’re out of egg rolls(which happens FAST) but I’ve never been disappointed. Better drip coffee then what Starbucks has been brewing lately too. I’m also always welcomed with a smile, whether I’m in my pjs or picking up snacks for work. Love this place!

Oh wow, I can’t believe no one’s reviewed this place. Since Half Moon Bay is such a small, independent-minded community, this is probably the most busiest donut joint in this town, if the only… when I mean donut shop I mean a place that makes only donuts, not other baked goods… that I could remember. It’s family-run and you can tell, the donuts are made with tender-loving care… my mouth is watering thinking about the raspberry jam filled donut I had here… mmmm…powdered donuts… be sure to come here early on the weekends otherwise the most popular donuts run out early and they don’t make another batch!
