We found this place while shopping in the area and we were very impressed with both the service and quality of breakfast. Even the prices are great! I thought the presentation was unique and appealing. They definitely make it to where you remember to come back and have another batido with a flag and whipped cream with sprinkles on top! We look forward to returning for lunch sometime. :-)

My favorite Cuban spot in the whole wide world! We came here almost every Saturday either for breakfast or dinner, sometimes even both the ladies are soooo sweet, they’re far from the typical rude lazy and vulgar waitresses you find in Cuban restaurants in Hialeah. This is a very small and cozy restaurant, with seating inside and out. I love the fact that they play Cuban music all day. My favorite dish is everything on the menu because yes, I’ve tried it all, don’t judge me, I ate here while I was pregnant also. The food is always spot on with perfect flavor, texture and portion. We moved to Georgia and miss this place dearly, in fact I can’t wait to go back down because before I even say hi to my mom, I’m stopping here first. Or I can just bring her… The point is, I’m counting down the days to go back.

These croquetas are perfect! Service is very attentive even on a Sunday at noon. It is very clean. The food is good, I ordered the Old Havana breakfast. I think that the tostada could use a tiny bit more salt in the bread or butter but everything else is wonderful ! I was also impressed with the presentation

I’ve passed this place probably 100 times. I decided to stop this time because I was stuck in traffic. Thank you traffic! You found an amazing restaurant for me. Staff, the food, the ambience, in this small restaurant far exceeded anything I was expecting. I had the ropa vieja– I usually a Cuban Restaurant on this dish, because it can be really dry, and flavorless, or like this place, perfect! The meat was tender, the rice and beans were perfectly cooked, and my side of yucca was amazing! You can tell that the staff and chefs care about this place, it’s extremely clean, and you completely forget that you are sitting on Hallandale Beach Boulevard. I look forward to my next meal here!

We walked in and were greeted quickly. The waitress was great and took our drink orders as we walked in the door. She brought us a nice hot cup of Cuban style coffee. Perfect for 9:30am! My husband ordered the Cuban breakfast sandwich which looked delicious. I had the roast pork which was delicious and it came with rice, beans, and a salad for $ 9.99. Service was efficient. Place is very clean with a Havana theme. Best touch of this place is that the check comes in a cool cigar box! One of the best Cuban places in South Florida! Highly recommend!

Please do not come to this establishment. As a Cuban, I was appalled that this restaurant is such a misrepresentation of Cuban Food. I ordered a Frita, which is a Cuban version of a hamburger. The patty was obviously a frozen patty, it was drenched in mayonnaise which is not typical as of frita comes with ketchup. The bun was over toasted and hard. Now this is only the beginning. My friend ordered a steak a la caballo. This consist of a thin steak with an egg on top. She ordered the egg over easy. The egg had burst and the yolk was completely hard. The steak was flavorless and to add insult to injury, there was a HAIR in the food! UNACCEPTABLE! We asked the waitress if the cook had a hair net and she said she did. See pic. She lied. They stated the orange juice is fresh but it tastes like concentrate is added to the juice. The steak sandwich comes plain without the fixings. The bread is not Cuban. The lack of care and flavor is their staple. Spare yourself the agony and find another establishment to eat at. No stars are warranted!!!

Please sir, can I have some more!!! If you’re looking for a family run, home cooked Cuban meal. This is the place. I had the oxtail. My staple Cuban dish which over the years has received mixed results. A Taste of Cuba however did not disappoint. In the top 5 of oxtail disharmony ever consumer. The meat was tender and full of flavor. My only slight cretic was the lack of healthier side options like brown rice but yeah I’m having oxtail so who’s really worried about the healthier option. Prices are very reasonable. Go for it and enjoy.

I sat for 20 minutes and was never served, never even given water to drink. I even got up and told the waitress that I’d like to order. She apologized profusely yet I waited another 10 minutes and she never came to take my order. Perhaps this is the type of establishment that doesn’t serve certain people… perhaps the waitress was overwhelmed at 2pm on a weekday with only a few tables to wait on…

What a great discovery! It’s been a few years since I went to a Cuban restaurant that perfectly nails both atmosphere and food. This small venue has character and energy, as well as good food — at very reasonable prices. I must have driven by it 50 times and finally decided to check it out. So happy I did. They served a delicious breakfast and have a nice patio for dining outdoors. Add this one to the list if you are looking for something new!

Hanging out in Hallandale and hungry. Wanted cuban and hit Unilocal and low and behold found this great little cuban restaurant. Cute as hell little place in what appears to be a recently redone strip center on Hallandale Beach Blvd. Great little outdoor sitting area to hang at when the weather is good. While it had a really extensive menu, I went for the classic cuban sandwich. Added some fries and it was a perfect meal. The bread on the sandwich was crispy and chewy. With roasted pork, ham, cheese, pickles and mustard, it hit the spot. Wife had the ropa vieja which was served in a tortilla bowl with rice and beans. Great flavor and tender meat. Son had the grilled chicken which was huge with plantanos, and rice and beans. All was perfectly prepared and flavorful. We could not leave without tres leches and we were not disappointed. Yellow cake filled with 3 milks, little sweet, and topped with whipped cream. If you are in the Hallandale area and looking for real authentic cuban, this is your place. Don’t skip this place.

I’ve ordered a couple of times from this place. Sadly, Im able to report the Breakfast was not good, toast was small, French fries without taste and soggy. unfortunately I don’t know about another Cuban restaurant in the area that serves Cuban breakfast. The service is HORRIBLE; the waitress(tallest one in the restaurant with short hair) had an attitude and rolls her eyes when a customer asks a question. Never going back! I guess I will have to drive to Black Beans Café to get great breakfast and better service!

What a pleasant surprise… we dropped by accident when our target place was closed and since we came walking 3 miles we decided to try the restaurant for a sunday breakfast. This being said, the service was extremly attentive and my steak sandwich with eggs(pan con bistec a la caballo) was just excellent. My wife’s french fries side was one of the best I have had in a long time at any level of any stablishment, they were crispy outside and creamy inside with the right quantity of seasoning. Will come back again.

Great food! Horrible service!!! Had only four stars so I was hesitant to try. We decided to try anyways. The waitress does not smile. She seems to be having a bad day. Our food was great, I had oxtail the wife had steak breakfast.

Came here for dinner last night and back for breakfast/lunch today. Very traditional cuban food and the service is very good. Prices are more than fair so great for groups or families.

I ordered french fries to go for $ 2.00 but I received enough fries for $ 0.75. I was extremely upset that I didn’t eat the sandwich I brought there. Overall, the person who helped me was nice and everyone food around me seemed to be good.

The place is nice and well maintained. It offers outdoor seating and the food came out pretty fast but not all at once. The server was very forgetful and had to be reminded of simple things on multiple occasions. The food was nicely presented, very flavorful we ordered 5 different plates and the best by far was the palomilla steak, the other plates were well seasoned but a bit over salted for three out of four of us since the two of us that had palomilla steaks were perfect! Cuban coffee was on point!

Found this restaurant through Unilocal while in the area. So glad we took a chance. Menu is of a typical Cuban restaurant, but service and food is nothing but typical. One word DELICIOUS!!! Our table ordered«ropa vieja», roasted pork and lamb chops. Came quick, gorgeous presentation. Taste AMAZING!!! Definitely recommended.
