This place is well located in Hallandale next to Locatel Pharmacy. I have been to this mall many times and never have been to this place, mistake! It is large, very large and has many tables… It does look a little dated, but food and service compensate for it. I had unsweetened ice tea that was quite good, fresh brewed. Then i ordered the grilled Mahi with grilled veggies on the side. Very good! The mahi was well cooked, fresh, a nice piece… Very pleased with it. The veggies were also quite good. Service was also quite good and prompt! The place is clean and the restroom was also clean. All in all I will be back! Enjoy

AVOID this place… Went there this morning(June 9th) at 11:00 am… Establishment closed, not sign explaining why. I waited until 11:05 am… and started to wonder if maybe their hours had changed… so I called. Phone rang, and rang, and rang… and no one answered, despite the fact that they staff inside could see me out side the front door, and that it was past 11:00 am opening time posted on the front door. At this point a lady walks right past the door I’ve been patiently waiting at… and goes to the register to count the money in the drawer. Completely ignores me… I gently pull on the entry door, thinking maybe they’d electronically opened it or something… Nope. With this the same girl drops what she was doing, cracks the front door open, and looks at me like«What the heck do you want?». I asked her…“do you still open at 11:00 am?”…she said«yes». So I asked…“so, is it ok if I come in?”…she was obviously annoyed, but said…“sure, but it’s only 5 minutes after the hours”. Crazy! Avoid this place… there’s Padrino’s Cuban Restaurat just east of this place, just before crossing the bridge, and they are consistently good. and the staff has a great attitude. There’s also A Touch of Cuba just west of Federal Hwy, which is great as well.

This place was horrible. No avocado. Asked for a patron and pineapple the guy says they have no pineapple juice. But you see a pineapple drink on the menu. So he then explains that the pineapple juice they have comes in a Goya can and doesn’t taste great. He seemed annoyed told us if he brings the patron and pineapple drink and if we don’t like it he will not take it off the tab. So we decided to order other various drinks. Food was here before the drinks. After a 20 min wait. The drinks finally come after we had our meal. To only realize the guy at the bar said he did not know how to make some of the drinks. The guava margarita tasted like pure Red Cross salt. My strawberry mojito had so much sugar I thought I was going to get diabetes. Food was ok nothing to brag about. Def would not come back here.

Not the best Cubano I ever had, but not bad as ham sandwiches go. The plantain chips were good. Good service.

We came for dinner tonight with our toddler and we had the nicest waitress named Norma. Not only was the food delicious, but Norma made us feel very welcome and comfortable. She brought us bread and a sippy cup with water without us even asking. We had a lot of sides because we are vegetarian and everything was delicious, but, the real star of our experience was our amazing waitress Norma. We will definitely be back and be requesting Norma! Our toddler had a great time looking at the waterfall and walking all around, everyone was so kind to him and to us. Thank you for a wonderful evening!!!

Just left this restaurant, let me save you the consumer the trouble, There is NO aircondiction, the walls by the window booths are filthy and so are there windows. The food was greasy and the staff was poor, slow and it took for ever to get our waitresse back at out table. I sweated like a pig because there is NOAIRCONDITIONING. YOU are a filthy establishment and should close your doors and hire a cleaning crew to clean your dirty establishment. I will never come back to your restaurant your discusting and dirty.

Meh. The staff are SUPER friendly and inviting but the food is a little sub par. We ordered the ropa vieja, vaca frita, media noche, and tres leches cake. Everything was pretty mediocre with the exception of the ropa vieja, which was screaming with flavor. Probably wouldn’t eat here again but could see it serving as a good hangover fix.

This is our first time here… as an appetizer, we shared the relleno de papá(stuffed potato), which is not the way I’m accustomed to having — a ball of potato stuffed with ground beef… this was served similar to a baked potato, but still the potato was mashed and the ground beef was on it… it was delicious! For my entrée, I had breaded steak with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains… also delicious! Everything was nicely seasoned and cooked… the steak was tender… to add to this, the servers were extremely attentive… always filling up our water glasses and available if we needed something… the prices are comparable to those of other restaurants with similar food. definitely will drive from the North Miami Beach area to eat here… obviously, I recommend this place…

I had lunch here today. Place looks nice and service was very good. Everybody had a smile on their face, thats always good. I had a combination that consisted of chicharron de pollo, ropa vieja and some cuban flank steak with onions. Meal was served with plantains and rice. Was delicious. I will be back.

Had a late lunch there yesterday with my family. Great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. A lot of the items on the menu are made in house which is a plus and encourages you to return for more. The beans are delicious as well as their grilled chicken and marinara sauce.

Very friendly staff, a comfortable quiet, calm ambience. The food was delicious! The appetizers were served in less than 5 minutes. This is a great location for couples, or a first date. The prices are very reasonable, and the quantity of food is very large. Wonderful experience.

I’m Cuban, so I know how Cuban food is supposed to taste like. On previous visits the food has been fine. Not extraordinary, but fine. Today however, I came in for a simple Cuban sandwich, a beer and a Cuban coffee with flan. Yes… the Cuban sandwich tasted like the ones I once had in Bombay, India. How on earth can a Cuban restaurant screw up a Cuban sandwich? Thats why I’m giving this review 2 stars. On the positive side, the staff was very nice and amicable and the atmosphere and décor clean and well maintained. I’m not sure if my experiece reflects changes in the kitchen noticed by others. But, if a Cuban restaurant can’t make a good Cuban sandwich in Miami… something is not kosher!!!

I can’t believe I’ve been going to this place for over two years and neglected to write a review! Well, my office is right across the street so although I don’t eat out all that often, I do find myself at Las Vegas in Hallandale from time to time. I have nothing but positive reviews. The staff is always fast and friendly. The place itself is very large, clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. Oh right, the food! Some of the best Latin cuisine I’ve ever tasted! My personal recommendations are the ropa vieja, milanesa and vaca frita. The flan is pretty damn exciting too! If you appreciate Cuban cuisine, Las Vegas is the place to go!

Las Vegas is usually a consistent bet. The food and service are usually very good! However, we had a disappointing experience tonight. After the boyfriend sat for fifteen minutes with an empty drink, we had to ask someone else to call our server over. We ordered another round and I had to call after her to ask for my glass of wine back since it still had two good sips left. The boy’s churrasco was predictably good, but if the waitress had bothered to ask how everything was I would have told her my chicken was overcooked(so dry and pretty terrible-good thing the sautéed veggies were tasty). Instead she just asked, «are you finished?» And cleared the plates. Obviously didn’t care. Then the check comes and informs us that tipping«18 to 20% is customary and adequate.» Sorry, but that is what made me ultimately decide to post this review. Instead of trying to milk the snowbird Canadiens out of a bigger tip, try focusing on the locals who frequent your establishment year-round. 15% for you, just on principle.

From the other reviews here, seems as if this location is kinda hit-or-miss. Fortunately, I’ve only experienced ‘hits’ when I’ve been there. But I do tend to dine out on nights that generally aren’t the busiest nights of the week. So, that could make a difference in the attentiviness of service and speed of food arriving at the table. During my last visit, I had the lechón asado(roast pork) with black beans and rice and plantains. Cuban standards. Pork was great and the black beans were just right. My dinning partner — who is Cuban-American — had the ropa vieja(shredded beef). He said everything he ordered was nicely prepared and he cleaned his plate. Portions are very generous. So, we didn’t even have room for dessert. Again, I’ve always had pleasant experiences at this location. So, hopefully some of the less-favorable reviews are the exception to the rule.

Almost overlooked this place. It’s tucked and slightly hidden by neighboring stores/grocery store. Very vibrant and fancy on the inside. Service is great! Food is awesome! One of the best places to stop for a Cuban Sandwich and Yuca!

I first came to this Las Vegas location the day they opened, by chance. I have been here a few times since, and unfortunately I have to say that this once brand new location has gone south. The service is curt and brash. The food is dry and flavorless — especially the once delicious empandas. They act like they are doing you a favor to wait on you when the restaurant is nearly empty. The happy hour drinks are limited and not very good quality. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.
