Despite the slow service(which knocks out a star), the food is phenomenal and the mountain views are breathtaking. The live music is a nice touch, too! The artisan cheese board with local honey and accoutrements is wonderful to start. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, though. And be sure to stop by on holidays for special menus, as those are spectacular. With beautiful plates and a beautiful atmosphere, this place is well worth the price!
On a Sunday night, we were 20 min early for a 7:30 dinner reservation, they were 15 min late to seat us. We waited at the bar and each had a drink. The drink menu had more things crossed off than available – strike one. At some point, I noticed my beer glass was chipped around the rim – strike two. My gf’s cocktail had strawberry as an ingredient, there was none to be tasted. When we were finally seated, the menu was not the same as posted on their web site, but close. Several entrees had two prices listed(Gulf Shrimp 18⁄34), with no explanation. Never did get to ask someone. After about ten minutes at our table, we decided that the menu looked like crap – fancy ingredients in the worst combinations, trying to sound sophisticated, but just sounding gross and thrown together like a shopping list. Also, we were being completely ignored by the staff – no water, no waiter – strike three. We got up and left without a word. Five minutes down the road, we found Cravin Thai and had a great meal, and were back to our room at the resort in under an hour. Don’t waste your time with Crystal Tavern. It sucks.

While staying at the Crystal Springs Resort we had breakfast. Everything we ordered was delicious. Perfectly cooked eggs, hearty savory French toast, crisp smoky bacon, Omelet was fluffy and everything was seasoned perfectly as well. Topped off with perfect mimosa.

I find it incredibly silly to not be able to accept reservations for the same evening on the phone… especially when there are so many empty tables. Instead, they«suggest» you come in person and try your luck. A pathetic business practice especially for a place that lacks the quality it tries to show off so desperately. Such a shame this venue is run by people with no grasp on going the extra mile by pleasing customers. Spend a few evenings at the bar area and you will witness fussy bar tenders, poor food service and a sincere lack of quality in most areas. I feel for the kids that work here as they work hard yet it seems management can’t get things right with not only the crystal tavern but other areas of the resort.

Elegantly casual. Every dish was perfect. Price was exactly what the food was worth. Service was a little slow but the place was packed with tons of things going on. I mentioned how much I loved the fire and I wish I could sit by it, they accommodated us immediately. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.

Great views with a family friendly environment. Went for dinner and had the crab cakes, duck confit, rib eye and a bottle of pinot. Knowledgeable and attentive wait staff and the food was on point. Minus one star for an underseasoned ribeye that was otherwise cooked to the perfect temp.

There was so much I loved about this place and so much I thought was terrible. The ingredients are amazingly fresh, but a lot of it was cooked poorly. It’s a sad thing for that to happen. I had the tuna Niçoise salad. The bread it came in was amazingly fresh, as were the veggies in the salad, but there was barely any tuna and no flavor to the whole entrée. It came with a side salad, that was so incredibly tender but the salad itself was salty. I got a side of the ratatouille because I was fascinated that they offered it as a side. While the veggies were fresh, the dish had absolutely no flavor and if anything just tasted oily. On a positive note, My friend’s grilled cheese was pretty amazing and decadent. The cheese was burrata and the bread again was fresh fresh fresh. The app of shisoto peppers was also amazing. Great views! My husband ordered a blue moon and was handed an pumpkin blue moon… in August. Scratching my head a bit on this place.

Great view. Great servers. Wings and fried zucchini are excellent. Burgers and fries are good. Very generous glasses of wine.

We can here for dinner because it was one of two restaurants that is open in the area for dinner. They not only have local farm fresh ingredients but have their own farm as well. The restaurant is located inside the grand cascade resort. If you are going on a weekday try to make a reservation prior to visiting because they do fill up quick. We walked in and had to wait 20 min for two because they were booked out. They turned larger parties without reservations away. The hostess was very nice. And kept us posted on seating status. Once seated we waited 10 minutes before a menu was brought to us. As other reviewers say service was slow, however it looked like there were only two or three waiters in the entire restaurant. Our waiter was very nice and food was served fairly quickly. The entrees were so good! We had the Amish chicken and smoked ribs. The chicken is unlike any chicken I’ve had before. It was so juicy(even the white meat) and fell right off the bone. Very well plated and portioned over vegetables. The smoked ribs was well seasoned and cooked to perfection, falling off the bone easily, topped with arugula and fresh sliced peaches. All their teas were organic. Overall we we’re very satisfied with our meal and our experience exceeded our expectations.

I have to preface this by saying we had lunch AND dinner here on two different days. The bulk of this review is about Dinner! We came to grab a quick bite before our massage and split a cheese plate and tuna sandwich. Cheese plate: AMAZING! That day the three cheeses were delicious! The local honey sweet and addictive! Tuna Sandwich: very tasty but could have done without the olives! But I still ate them, my BF not so much. Dinner was the second night, Honey the hostess that took our reservations was fantastic! But when we returned we arrived a little early for our 8p reservation and we didn’t get seated until 8:35p. Thankfully our server was great! We had another cheese plate but the cheeses were as appetizing as the day before. Dinner was served with bread and butter which was good. Nothing to write home about. Hanger Steak: My BF over ate in cheese and bread but thought the steak was decent. The potatoes were spot on and he swapped his spinach for corn on the Cobb. Over all he says it was a good meal. Amish Chicken: I swapped the ratatouille for potatoes au gratin. I absolutely LOVED my chicken, so did my boyfriend! It was delicious and moist! The potatoes were OK I liked my BFs tavern potatoes better. Dessert: Was nothing to write home about but the French press coffee was superb! We had the Brazilian coffee! The views and service(wait service) were fantastic! We got a great meal and had a wonderful time! If we stay at the Grand Cascades again, we’ll be back!

Terrible. My brisket sandwich was soaked in grease. The wife’s fish was a hunk of Salmon dropped on a pile of iceberg lettuce. Wait staff was slow and unresponsive and it was not even half full. Then there was the prices. We wont go back.

Food was good but service was subpar and the food took along time to get. I won’t let that ruin my rating. I had the hanger steak and it was on the saltier side but was a good piece of meat. The octopus appetizer, which wasn’t on the menu was also pretty good. I would recommend trying that when available. Once again the service was slow from start to finish and not as attentive as one would expect from a restaurant like this.

The food here is really great. It’s pricey but not through the roof and some of the tables have a view. I’ve been to the Crystal tavern on a week night and the service was impeccable. Go to the Crystal tavern on a Saturday night while the lodge is hosting a wedding and you’re in trouble. I don’t understand why restaurants don’t make accommodations for people. I made a dinner reservation a month and a half in advance and repeatedly reminded the hostess that it was my fiancé’s 30th birthday so if they could give our small group of 5 a window table that would be great. Nope nothing. Really?! I mean is it that difficult in this day and age to make that small accommodation? I’m sorry but I find that hard to believe. If anyone is in the restaurant biz and can shed light onto this that would be appreciated. Anyway, the service on a Thursday was so attentive and relaxing. Our meal experience was really enhanced. Come to a Saturday night and we were basically in a different restaurant. I think that they just happened to be understaffed that night. Unfortunate. Get the octopus salad, which is not on the menu(that needs to be reprinted without food stains!) and the wild game sausage. For that alone you’ll come back to the Crystal tavern. I will say despite the 60 minute wait for our food, the restaurant made up for it with a free round of shots on the house and a piece of birthday cake for my fiancé.

It was not busy on this Sunday yet an awfully long wait for the hostess and then our server; and an even longer wait for our drinks and food! Their saving grace with my rating was when finally served, their Bloody Mary & Wings and Waffles were delicious! As to the rest, so disappointing was their iceberg salad, not at all cold nor crispy was it!; and, though the grits was fine, the shrimps in it were ‘rubbery’! A much higher expectation I had from the beautiful setting of this restaurant! Such a waste!

This place is excellent ! recently got the buffalo wings with waffles(chicken & waffles combo) and it was on point. the view is magnificent! The bloody mary is one of the best around. I eat here at least once a year and have yet to be disappointed !

Underwhelming. We were staying at grand cascades for a special occasion and were disappointed by this meal. $ 25 dungeoness crab cake app was 1 burnt boring crabcake atop an overwhelmingly mustardy pile of jicama. Garden salad had zero of the kale that the menu promised. The oven dried tomatoes were unpleasant. Even the complimentary rolls were not good enough to eat despite how hungry I was. The bread was full of olives and something else, craisins? My arctic char entrée was not terrible but also not great. My boyfriend’s kobe burger was good, luckily I had that to nibble on. We’re planning on room service breakfast tomorrow I hope that’s better! ! — also disappointing service from Tony. My water and martini glass were empty and never asked if I needed anything else..

19th hole! Conveniently located through the pro shop, this place services up traditional, but tasty fare. Our waitress was great and the views were magnificent. Drinks are a little expensive($ 12 for most mixed drinks), but very good. My husband had a rosemary mojito that was good and my bloody Mary was outstanding. The cold shrimp appetizer($ 16) was four jumbo shrimp. The fish and chips($ 16) were good with a cornmeal instead of beer batter. My lobster role($ 21) stole the show with a delicious, toasted croissant. While a little pricey, overall everything was very good and we’ll certainly come again after golf.

After a fabulous wine tasting in the wine cellar, we had an early dinner here. The friends we were with are regulars, hence the special service. The menu is bar food with some fancy touches. Tuna tartare– good quality tuna, could have used a side sauce of some kind Kobe burger-excellent, cooked to perfection Bread pudding– disappointing, it was dry and nothing special Crystal Tavern does offer a beautiful view and ambiance. The food is average with some pockets of good. A nice place to eat while at the resort.

The only place to eat while staying at resort majority of the time. Food is very average. I ordered the kale salad and it had zero kale. Was simply romain lettuce. At sat at the bar and bartender spent all of her time at the other side if the bar with the business crowd. Took over an hour for my salmon. Salmon was good but sides could use some more flavor. Had lunch here another day, potato soup needs more garlic… Mac and cheese tastes like velveeta with bread crumbs on top with zero flavor. The turkey club was good… Thank goodness. Atmosphere is very pub like… Can be casual or dressy. The prices are too high for what you get here. Bartender at night was completely overwhelmed by the group of people that were here for conference, she was the only one working. Knowing a conference was in the building, would you not add a few extra workers?!! They also closed our tab at midnight with over 30 people still sitting around bar… Foolish from a business perspective.
