A fantastic New England breakfast awaits you in the quant setting of Hampstead. The breakfast is always fresh and the service 5 stars. If corporate restaurants are your thing move on there’s nothing to see here. However if your looking for a hot cup of coffee and generous portions put this little establishment on your list. Weekends are popular but early birds never have trouble getting a table. I like the traditional breakfasts with their New England baked beans. This is breakfast that will stick with you all day. The restaurant is clean and the food always hot. This is one of my go to spots and it has never disappointed.

An adorable little«diner-like» atmosphere. Great place to have a weekend breakfast. Everything is delicious and everyone is so nice. I highly recommend the grilled muffins. All around A great place to stop by.

An institution in town, where all the locals come for breakfast. Really good breakfast food, for a decent price. Love this place :)

Diner. What you expect from a diner is what you get. No thrills, average food and coffee.

I came here while visiting my parents who live a few miles down the road. They had no idea such a fabulous breakfast spot was right down the road. I had a western scramble that was pretty darn good. Loved the homemade corn bread! Prices are very reasonable.

I dont know why anyone would give them less than 5 stars. The food is consistently great! One thing I dislike about this platform, is people have good things to say and dont give them the credit they deserve! I have ALWAYS had great food and GREAT service! The Meat pie today, was outstanding! The Garden omlette was delicious, and they are so nice, at accommodating my requests! Our go to for breakfast anyday!

My fiancé and I visit the English Muffin every Sunday. We’ve been coming here for almost three years now. When we were first looking for a place to eat before the Muffin, we almost looked at breakfast as an exhausting process that resulted in food that made me sick and my fiancé would just push the food around on her plate. We found the Muffin and I now recommend it to everyone I know in the area. I’ve brought my sister here with her children and I’ve brought my elderly parents here. You have three choices of where to sit: at the breakfast bar for those that want a quick bite, in the general dining room with booths, and a sun room that has 3 double tops, 3 four tops, and a table that can seat 7. You’re surrounded by sun on a clear day with vaulted ceilings and it is country porch breakfast dining at its most charming. Does it get crowded? Yup, for good reason. The staff remembers you and makes you feel welcomed and glad that you visited. Does it get warm? Sure, because it’s packed. They keep it as comfortable as they can… would you want to run around serving food in a hot room? Of course not… so they keep it as cool as they can. Hard to fight body heat when it’s packed. Are the coffee cups small? Yes but there is always staff there to fill your cup. How many are you looking to drink anyway? The number wouldn’t matter, they’d put on a fresh pot for you anyway. The food is what breakfast should be and more. The breakfast muffins are homemade and huge. Ask for them grilled… you’re welcome. Their specials and finer menu items will reach even the pickiest eaters. Price? In the almost three years I’ve been coming here(I’ve been coming longer but don’t tell my fiancé) I’ve rarely had to pay over $ 20 for two people. That’s just breakfast… they serve lunch as well. Visit the Muffin, and stay for life. You’re welcome to.

The menu is great. They have more to offer than the typical breakfast fare. I’ve eaten here twice and both times have been great. The spinach and artichoke omelet was lovely. Service was very nice as well.

Hands down, this is my favorite place for breakfast in this area — and I’ve been to most of the breakfast joints in the Plaistow /Kingston /Hampstead region. Their home-fries(deep fried) are the best(they remind of the home-fries at Cookie’s Chuck Wagon). The staff is really friendly, and they have great specials. You should also try their home-baked muffins and cornbread — they are super yummy. My favorite is hot orange-cranberry cornbread smothered in melted butter — it’s like a chunk of heaven on a plate. It’s not a big place, and they get really busy on Sunday morning(so go really early or go later if you go on a Sunday).

I’ve been going here for years now and it’s hands down the best breakfast place in the hampstead/plaistow/kingston area! The friendly staff who recognize you when you come in is the icing on the cake. The food is amazing! You can’t go wrong with stopping by the English muffin!

Terrible terrible terrible. Send food back and it comes back just as awful. They can’t poach an egg. Tiny coffee cups. Confused service. It was good 10 years ago. And don’t dress warm it’s 80 degrees in there. Go to Christina’s. It’s a couple of miles away.

Very reasonable prices! The wait staff was attentive and very quick to respond to our needs! Hollandaise was homemade that was a plus! One wish would be to change to homemade home fries! The décor needs to be seriously looked at… The divider windows look like a kindergarten craft project and the fishing line used to hold it up and meant to be «invisible«looks like spider webs. Not a great idea. If this were my place a serious update would be done! Otherwise great place to eat would def come back! Place has massive potential!

What an adorable spot. I’m a traveler passing through but was happy I found this place. The interior is well maintained and staff is extremely friendly. Service was also expeditious as I received my food in a short wait time. Loved how I was able to still eat healthy on travel with their healthier option menu not to mention my minor requests were fulfilled for an even cleaner breakfast.

This is a quality breakfast place that could rest on its laurels and serve bad food if they wanted and still do well because of their location. It really has no competition, but it still focuses on quality. All of your breakfast staples are here, plus some hard to find(at least in the area) picks like crepes and home made muffins and breads. The pancakes are big and the bacon crispy as it should be. They have a lunch menu as well with some interesting items like haddock parm on pasta, which I was leery of but turned out to be fantastic. Most menu items are under $ 10 and the portions of quality food are more than big enough. The staff is pleasant and the food comes quick, even when it’s busy. It’s packed almost every day for breakfast and there’s no real waiting area, so expect a wait on weekends especially. It’s a definite go to if you’re in the area.

I was out riding my motorcycle a few weeks ago when I came across the English Muffin. I love crepes, grits, and bacon, so I got all three. What more could I ask for, they were great! Service was excellent and the owner was very friendly. I will return often.

Very nice breakfast — however eggs for breakfast sandwich seemsto be cooked to death to tastless. Asked not to have a «crispy critter» for egg, still got one. Too bad as egg cooked solid doesn’t have to be overcooked to be «over hard». Pancakes were nice, Omlettes nice. Coffe creamers exposed to too high a temp or something as always seem to taste slightly sour. Ruins a nice cup of coffee. One other minor critique — some of the food tastes a little bland — a small amount of seasoning would go a long way to rasing this place from A-OK to Very Good. Staff is wonderfull — willing to forgive a lot to be waited on by pleasant people. They’ve always been very friendly & welcoming; when we had questions about the area, they tried to help us and even called a friend of theirs to find out the answer. Next time I’m near there — I will stop in and try it again.

The English Muffin in Hampstead serves up traditional American fare breakfast with some specials thrown in such as lobster eggs Benedict, various types of quiche, fruited French Toast; and even cheesecake pancakes. Coffee is strong, service was mediocre, fair value in terms of food portion and price. Small place with about 20 tables and small sit at counter. Cash only.
