I wanted lobster for dinner and found this great restaurant, thanks to Unilocal! We got free onion rings through Unilocal when we checked in! Great cocktails, great food, great hospitable staff… what else could you ask for?

We used to come here when Lobster Q first opened. Saw the owner, Sean, doing appearances on the cooking segment of the local news channel(WMUR Cook’s Corner). Not quite sure why we stopped coming, but wasn’t because of any problems. Food and service are always great, and Sean usually visited each table to greet customers personally. He seemed a bit busy to do that this time so we didn’t chat. Even though it’s a small restaurant, don’t think we ever had to wait for a table. Nor did we on this occasion. We actually called ahead to ask if there was a wait. Nope. There were two or three tables open. Mind you, the small bar at the front was well at capacity, with people sitting on the window bench. Took advantage of the Unilocal check in for a free onion ring appetizer. No dipping sauce(s) which I’ve enjoyed at other places, but the rings themselves were good. I chose the scallop and shrimp scampi. Nice sea scallops and large shrimp(3 of each) on a bed of fettuccini in a scrumptious garlic sauce. Could have done with one more scallop and shrimp for the price of $ 16.99, but leftovers still came home with me. Hubby enjoyed his pulled pork platter with their New England style maple syrup-based BBQ sauce. Sauce on his face kind of enjoyment. ;) We took a pass on dessert. We were in for some delightfully unexpected entertainment. The men in a group of four couples suddenly broken out into song, barber shop quartet style, and serenaded their wives. Not to mention the entire dining room. They were phenomenal! Sean must have been advised ahead of time because he was all ready with a video camera. The bar crowd got the encore performance. Made for a really nice evening. We shall try not to stay away so long again.

Overall great experience on the several occasions we’ve been there! Only complaint, bigger portions would be better. Adore the scallops but don’t seem to get as many as you’d expect for the price. Service was great! Everyone liked their meals. We are local so we’ll be back, but hoping for a bit«more» next time. Great little local place with good seafood!

Hmmmm… driving by during mealtime and stopped in. What a pleasant surprise! You kind of have to look for it, it’s not real visible. I walked in and only saw the bar, not the dining seating in the side/back. Some nice choices on the menu.(I was expecting pub-type food=.) We had the ribs and shrimp… and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Prices were a little higher than I expected, but maybe that’s OK, cause I got more than I expected. ;-) We were in a bit of a hurry, but hope to stop by again! Any questions, feel free to private message me.

Have been a few times… Food is definitely above average, but prices are a bit out of hand for the portions. I’m not looking for an All-you-can-eat buffet, but I shouldn’t feel hungry after a $ 25 appetizer and entrée, should I?

Onion rings were crisp and fresh. Got the lobster bisque, excellent other than I would’ve liked visible lobster chunks in it. Native clam roll was awesome. Cole slaw had just the right amount of spice to it. My friend got the clam chowder. It was so rich and loaded with clams we got a cups to go. Fries were fresh and crisp too! Service was superb! Really can’t complain about this excursion! If I’m in the area again I’ll definitely be coming back!

I came here with my family for Father’s Day. I don’t eat seafood, so I would not have come here if my dad had not requested to. I was happy to see there were still plenty of options for me. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I got the steak tips. They were very tender and flavorful; however, I asked for medium and they were well done. Still yummy, though. The cornbread is good, although very sweet. My family got ribs, lobster, clams, and macaroni and cheese and were very happy with everything. The restaurant is fairly small and a bit cramped inside. There are no booths, just tables. There is a bar right in front of the door when you walk in, separate from the dining area. The owner was great. Very friendly and helpful. However, our waitress almost ruined this dining experience for me– almost. I checked in on Unilocal and noticed they offered a free onion ring appetizer for doing this. Not one to turn down free food, I asked the waitress for the free Unilocal appetizer. She seemed a bit annoyed by my request, but we got it. When it was time to pay, my father had brought a $ 25 coupon, and presented it to her. She took it, and said we could not use it because of the onion ring promo. Since the onion rings were $ 4.95 and the coupon was $ 25, we said we would pay for the onion rings and use the coupon instead. The waitress sighed loudly, rolled her eyes, snatched the coupon and walked away without saying anything. She returned a few minutes later with the check. We were charged for the onion rings and the $ 25 coupon was not applied. It was only when she heard me complain to my family that she returned with the correct bill. Clearly, she is not a person that enjoys working in customer service. If I was a restaurateur, I would not want someone working for me who becomes visibly annoyed so easily. So, would I return? Probably, but not right away. The owner was really cool and the food was very good. I won’t let one nasty waitress ruin that.

I’ve been twice and both times the food was amazing. It was empty both times and I don’t understand why! I love the paintings and the owner is always there and friendly!

This was our second visit to Lobster Q and cannot wait to go back. Really good seafood, excellent pulled pork, the BBQ sauces are insane, and they sell a local soda product called«Real City Soda» that is amazing. Friendly service as well. Get the ice tea and don’t miss out on the apple bbq sauce.

Great food and a nice, varied beer selection with craft brews on tap. Bar area and separate dining area. Both are small but it’s a nice change from a large restaurant. Friendly staff, but service is a little slow. Big portions. Biggest chunks of lobster meat I’ve had in a lobster role. Great value.

Remember your first time you had sex? Well let me tell you about the Lobster Q. It was that good! BBQ and seafood together!!! So simple right? Why hasn’t anyone else jumped on this wagon. Apparently this place has been opened for 4 years already. A small jump down Route 111 and it’s tucked into this mini-mall with a gas station on the corner. Parking is more than enough. The Lobster Q isn’t the biggest place so don’t be upset if there is a wait… but I’m tell you, grab a drink and wait. For tonight’s feast, we started with a bowl of steamers. For dinner, I chose the fisherman’s platter, belly clams, shrimp, scallops, haddock, fries, onion rings, cole slaw and tarter sauce. Also, I ordered the ribs, chili, mac $ cheese and smoked sausage. We also got broiled scallops. The fried food was heavenly! Nice and golden in color. Not greasy at all. The BBQ was AWESOME! The bark on the ribs was black, soft and melted in your mouth. A perfect smoke. The chili was very good as well. Thick and hearty. Very flavorful. Broiled scallops were also cooked to perfection. Soft and yummy. Washed that down with a couple of Bud Lights and I was in Heaven. So say you want a combo platter? Mix it up. Enjoy ribs and clams! No rules here. Very personable staff here as well. This was a great dinner experience and Shawn and the girls there made it an outstanding visit. Shawn, this is my new hangout. 5 stars, WOW, excellent don’t even being to cover my visit. Keep up the great work here.

Disappointed. I was beyond excited about this place after seeing so many reviews that really seemed to like this place. My family has a tendency to only go to chain restaurants(Texas Roadhouse red robin Outback Steakhouse etc) and I so badly wanted us to go to try some place new to celebrate my fathers 50th birthday. I did my research and I decided on this place and hoped after all that convincing it’d pay off by us being wowed. It started off weird when I made a reservation earlier in the week and when we showed it was when they decided to awkwardly pull chairs together towards the front of the door(so we were all freezing and still can’t feel our toes). But before we could ask to be moved other people were sat. We sit down our waitress comes over maybe 5 minutes later takes our app orders so far so good. They come out everyone seemed okay with them. Time goes by we finish our apps and our waitress comes back to take our orders. This all must have happened within the first 30ish minutes of us being there. And then the visit turned sour. My 4 year old niece had to go to the bathroom and the bathroom was inaccessible as it was clogged and floor was flooded so my sister had to go next door with my niece to the Chinese food place to use the bathroom. When we had to go the bathroom that’s where we had to go. The waitress did a decent job she was really nice I felt she could have done a better job at paying attention to our drink levels or need of napkins as we ordered quite a few wing plates. We waited almost a full hour to get our food. We had to have placed our order around 6:30 and we didn’t get it until 7:20. And my four year old niece she got her plate last! And it took another 10 minutes of her telling us that she was hungry and wanted her plate. We obviously gave her some of ours but she shouldn’t have gotten hers last. The food for the most part didn’t blow any of us away. They were out of pulled pork and ribs. My father loves ribs and the pictures are what made me decide. The corn bread was very good and the wing appetizers we got were good but everything else was okay and erred on the side of salty as my dad complained. I felt bad my mother had to pay so much for our meals and the not so great experience. I let her down in finding a place to wow my dad for his 50th. Will not be returning.

Living close the city and the ocean I feel like I have an advantage on where to go for seafood. Staying at the bf’s house I don’t really have that choice. Small restaurant that puts out a pretty good product of seafood dishes and bbq for the locals. Clean and nicely furbished with polite staff. I ordered the baked seafood combo with fish and scallops. Not really much flavor to it unfortunately. Got the free order of thick cut onion rings by checking in on Unilocal and using the coupon. Also ordered the lobster bisque which looked more like squash soup with it’s orange hue. Also not that flavorful. Bf ordered some bbq which he seemed to enjoy. They have a nice bar out in front right when you walk in which I think is kinda cool for a local place. Only two people sitting there but it was only 630 on a Friday. I can see this place getting very busy during the dinner rush. Offering early bird specials of smaller prices and smaller plates fits for this area as well. I will try it again down the road.

A fantastic marriage of seafood and BBQ packed into this local gem. Their meats are all smoked on site and most of their ingredients are local. Their beer list is impressive from what’s on tap to their imported bottles. I’ve had their Fisherman’s Platter, Ribs, Pulled Pork and all sides. A must try is their Mac n cheese and cornbread. You will not be disappointed! Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. I always go home with a box!

Took a drive for a late lunch from the Merrimack Valley based on seeing the Phantom Gourmet review. There was 1 person at the bar and 2 people dining together in the dining room. The hostess came from the«back» to seat us, she was friendly and took our drink orders(water) immediately. She didn’t bother to get to know us(i.e. ask if we have been here before nor point out an of their specialties). Our primary mission was to try their Lobster Roll which I ordered and comes with one side plus cole slaw. I chose the sweet potato fries($ 2 up-charge). My friend ordered the grilled trident with jerk seasoning(optional) which included scallops, swordfish and shrimp and two sides: the veg. of the day(broccoli) and hand-cut onion rings($ 2 up-charge). Our lunch came within 15 minutes, the lobster roll came on a generous, non-buttered, room temp hotdog roll with chunks of lobster meat. I wouldn’t say it was heavy in mayo but the lobster was quite fishy. The sweet potato fries were disappointing though … limp and warm, not crispy and hot. Tasted a bit under cooked. The cole slaw had a twist relish which I enjoyed. My friend thought the scallops were spicy but I didn’t. The portion was fair(filet of halibut, 3 shrimp and about 3 scallops) but not what I’d consider generous by any means. Broccoli was steamed .can’t really mess up broccoli and the hand cut onion rings were probably the best feature of our lunch. Our waitress came by once to see if everything was good but we never saw her again until we finished our meals. I faced away from the restaurant so a few guests may have arrived while we were there but they were by no means«busy» so we were surprised she didn’t stop by more often. Good thing we didn’t need anything. Total bill including tip $ 50. Wasn’t bad but we wouldn’t make the drive again here for seafood.
