Closed due to mismanagement. Even when it was open it only deserved one star. Food was not even«hit or miss». It always missed.

Setting is nice, service was good however restaurant is tired and needs freshening up. We stopped in for an early dinner but decided to have a small bite and move on to another restaurant instead. Food was just ok

Great view at the marina. Indoor/outdoor dining. Good crab dip, scallops, flounder, & hush puppies. Since I now live in Baltimore I have higher standards for my crab cake but they are decent here. Sex on the beach drinks came in shorter glasses than I’m accustomed to. Still a relaxing atmosphere

Came here yesterday with my husband for some dinner while we were in the area. This place gets 3 stars(more like 2 or 2 and a half if I’m being honest) simply because of the incredibly poor service. We came in and were told to sit anywhere we wanted, so we chose the outside non-smoking deck so we could enjoy the lovely weather. The place is relatively small, so there aren’t that many tables to start with. The one table that was available was disgusting and really needed to be wiped down, but we sat down at it anyway thinking that someone would be along to clean it soon. Another 15 minutes or so later and no one had come to clean it, and we still hadn’t even had a waiter come over to us to give us menus or get us drinks even though we had seen one walk past 3 times. Finally, a really nice younger waiter named Matt came over to us and seemed alarmed that we hadn’t been helped yet, so he helped us himself. For the remainder of our time there, Matt seemed to be the only one at this establishment who was actually working. Overall, the food was actually quite excellent(especially the crab stuffed flounder), the view was pretty, and Matt tried his absolute hardest, which is the only reason this place got 3 stars. I wouldn’t say that it would ever be worth going back for.

Right on the water. There are signs about using the back entrance when the pool and outdoor bar are closed. I bet it’s a great place for the summertime. Went today(10÷13÷14) and it was 50% off burgers for Monday. It was packed. Great service! There was only one waitress and I thought she did well. I was under the impression someone cancelled working at the bar, last minute. So for working alone I thought she did well. I got a bacon cheeseburger and it was really good.

This was in 2010, but the owner poured free shots upon free shots for my friend and me. Got my wallet and phone stolen after the owner tried to get us to «go back to his place with him.» Gross. Sketchy place for sure.

Me and the wife took off and drove down to this hidden treasure that is palace around Buckroe Beach. Food was great, service was excellent, and the ride to get to it from Richmond was sweet.

The best thing going for this place is the location and the view. Had dinner here on a Saturday… only the upstairs was open, and we sat outside on the deck. Food service was pretty slow, I even overheard other people talking about it(our drinks arrived quickly however). We started with some hushpuppies, which were pretty good. I ordered a burger and it arrived completely wrong(undercooked, missing items I had asked for). I guess that’s what you get for ordering a burger at a seafood place… but then I had to ask our server twice to fix it… I think she forgot the first time??? She also gave us incorrect change(she gave us back more than she should have but we pointed it out to her and returned the money).

The service was extremely slow, and sloppy. They don’t offer refills and you pay for the little extra they you would get free elsewhere. The food was horrible and over priced. Ill never go back.

We went for a late lunch/early dinner. Only the bar area was open for food service. The table had not been wiped down and we had to ask for a cleaning rag. There was nothing special about the food as it was missing seasoning. The only plus was the view of the marina. The tables outside have the cheap plastic lawn chairs. Between the light wind and plastic chairs we opted to eat inside the bar. The place wasn’t overly busy but service was slow.

Waters Edge has a lot on the menu, to much for me to really get into in one write up. Basically we were there to just try two dished, the Scallops Carbonara and Rick’s specialty Seafood Mac and Cheese. Once we were seated, the service started and it was very good. I then high tailed it back to the kitchen to see what Rick was preparing. There was a lot going on. First up he wanted me to try his Vodka Pasta with sautéed Shrimp. This was a fresh from scratch dish that was made to order and was about as good as it gets. I am not sure how you could make this dish any better. Once cooked we sent it out to my half Italian half German sweetheart Donna for a taste test. She loved it. Ok, good enough for me!!! Approved. Next was the seafood mac and cheese that included fresh crabmeat and fresh shrimp, and a lot of each. Although this sounds like a simple dish, it truly is quite involved and requires some skill and good timing. There is also some transferring of food and plates going from pans, to ovens, to broilers, to final prep. This was an excellent dish and one that we had never had. Donna is fortunately naturally thin and can eat high calorie dishes like this, while I on the other hand only had a taste. This is a rich dinner and not exactly diet food. However for a real treat, I highly recommend it. This is also a good dish to split, sort of use it as your pasta, then order some grilled fish on the side would be a GREAT way to go. Nice combo. The Carbonara was prepared perfectly and the Scallops were huge! Everything was made fresh right in the skillet over a gas flame and was a Pancetta based Carbonara. There just was not anything that was not done right with this pasta dish. It was for lack of a better word, perfect! While in the kitchen I did see quite a few other dishes going out the door and they all looked good. Seafood pizza, soft shell crabs, and oysters Rockefeller. My friend Chris had the soft shells and raved about them. They were fresh and only lightly seasoned and breaded. They were deep fried which is fairly traditional around here. I much prefer pan sautéed in butter with some herbs, but that is just me. Its all good. There was desert, homemade cheesecake that was delicious. I am not much on deserts, but Donna gave it two thumbs up and it was a very nice presentation. Well, that’s about it. We tried the two main dishes we went for and they were both excellent. The Vodka pasta with shrimp was a pleasant surprise to try and it also was top shelf. We sat downstairs and enjoyed a wonderful view, good service, and two awesome dinners. The menu was of pretty good size, and we both thought it was worth going back to try some other dishes. If they are as good as the two that we devoured, than this place is gonna be a regular stop on our restaurant adventures. Plus, the view is just amazing! UPDATE: The chef has left since we have been there and we have not been back since. We would like to when back in the area, but hve no idea what is being served now.

During my Christmas visit to my parents, we drove one night to Waters Edge and we sailed the other afternoon. One trip took 15 minutes the other took about 5 hours round trip… rough. The place was pretty dead both time we went, I mean it is winter and all but only the upstairs is open. Nice deck for outdoor summer dining and a beautiful view of the Chesapeake. As far as our food was concerned, it was terrific! I am still baby stepping toward eating seafood but could not stop with out appetizer mini crab cakes, once steamed and the next time fried, and all of our meals were very delightful. The first time I got the teriyaki Mahi with rice and hushpuppies, right on point. Then I HAD to get the Sailor’s Mac & Cheese with was blissful! Breadcrumbs toasted on top of creamy mac and cheese with lump crab and shrimp, so good. Drawbacks: they were out of scallops and snow crab legs… both of which my husband tried to order. Understood they can be out of items but they were not mentioned before we looked over the menu.
