Good to see a business open up on Joseph Campau where the old Kowalski Deli used to be. Sandwich selections are pretty standard and the prices are reasonable. Giant beef and cheddar sandwich for $ 5.99. It came with lettuce, onion and tomato. Only problem here was that the onions were diced for coneys. Sandwiches need sliced onions and preferably something other than white onions. It’s a big bite and can be messy so ask for napkins. You can order meats and cheeses to go. Look for specials advertised in The Review. Service is friendly. Double check their hours as they do not stay open late.

Stopped in on opening day to check this place out. Super friendly staff! They don’t have a menu up — but they have a big selection of Kowalski meats as well as other meats to select from for subs and sandwiches, as well as a pre-made selection available in one of their fridges. The shelves are stocked with chips, drinks, and other goods. I got a turkey and roast beef sub, made fresh, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and peppers, all for $ 4.99! It looks pretty damn good. Not only that, but coffee is cheap — .75 cents for a small! nice! I’m all about new Hamtramck businesses finding their niche — I hope Bear’s sticks around.
