I am very particular about my jewelry and am not easily impressed by the run of the mill stuff. I was lured into Jewel of Paradise because I already own some Denny Wong Jewelry and noticed that they carried a lot of his pieces. I was impressed with how well curated the store is and how knowledgable Cheryl was as I looked at several items. I ended up leaving with a necklace and a destination for future trips to the north shore of Kauai.

My wife and I spent our wedding anniversary on Kaua’i last August. While window shopping in Hanalei, she was enchanted by a unique Mark Kane pendant in the Jewel of Paradise window. I snapped a picture of the pendant with my iPhone as well as the store’s sign so I could remember it come Christmas. Months later as I was Christmas shopping back home on the mainland, I emailed Jewel of Paradise using the sales email address on their website. I also included a jpeg of the pendant and asked if they still had it, price, etc. I very quickly received an informative and personal reply from Cheryl, whom I believe is the shop’s buyer. Over the next few days Cheryl, Courtney the shop’s manager, and the whole JOP staff were enormosuly helpful in assisting me to choose exactly the right pendant. They presented me with some flexible payment options to work within my budget, and they made sure my wife had a beautiful reminder of our memorable trip to Kaua’i to open on Christmas. My wife has wonderfully elegant and unique taste in jewelry and she receives frequent compliments on her Mark Kane pendant from Jewel of Paradise. I would highly, highly recommend Jewel of Paradise– whether you’re going to Kaua’i or just looking online for something special. Jewel of Paradise gets the highest marks from me for excellent and personal customer service, a unique and beautiful selection of jewelry, and good prices.

It is this thing of mine over the years and places that I have traveled to, to collect jewelry boxes, unique magnets and sometimes nice jewelry from places that I have traveled to in this world. If you look at the jewelry that I wear on a day to day basis, none have come from where I live(Seattle). They all come from some other place in this world and always have a story that goes along with it. I knew I was going to get the unique jewelry box(es) that would be specific to Kauai and the unique magnet, but I will only get a piece of jewelry if it absolutely«speaks out» to me since I normally spend $ 100 plus on that piece of jewelry. Walking around Hanalei, they had the typical jewelry stores that sold black pearls, but I wasn’t interested in those(especially since they are so large and I’m not a large jewelry type of girl), then I came upon the Jewel of Paradise shop where there were some pieces by Denny Wong. PERFECT. The ring that I was interested in was made of a mixture of platinum and sterling silver, there were smaller plumeria flowers and had white sapphires in the middle of the flowers. Now since I’m not usually an impulse buyer with anything over $ 100, I had to think about it. Over night, I decided I wanted this ring and went back early the next morning to purchase it. Much to my dismay, the store did not open until 10am. It was 9am and I knew we had a full days schedule ahead of us and I was leaving the island even earlier the next day. When I arrived, there was someone in the shop, but he was only putting the jewelry out and cleaning off the showcases. He noticed I was looking at the time they were open. He opened the door and inquired what I was searching for. I mentioned to him what I was after. He then called the lady who runs the shop and after about 15 minutes of her talking him through on how to complete the purchase, I was on my way with the ring I wanted and all a half an hour earlier than the shop opened and without the lady who ran the shop arriving. I just want to say THANKYOUSOOOMUCH and what wonderful customer service, going way above and beyond.
