Gone are the days of Red Hot Momma… but guess what we discovered yesterday? Pat’s Taqueria! Honestly, I prefer Pat’s burritos. While they are a little bit smaller than RHM’s — the flavor was really good! We placed our beach chairs facing the ocean under a big tree. I was really getting into my fish burrito vibe when all of a sudden we heard someone say something from above us. Some crazy homeless guy was peering down on us from up high in the tree. We moved closer to the water. Don’t let that deter you from trying out Pat’s. Just make sure the crazy guy is not up in the tree if you decide to sit under it. LOL! The view of Hanalei is breath-taking no doubt and eating Pat’s food — well it’s just a slice of heaven!!!

Delicious! Had the fish and pork. Added the side of rice and beans at the last minute… worth it! Cooked to perfection and amazing flavor! Wish they had a burrito bowl, but completely worth five stars regardless!!!

Tasty tacos and burritos. Small selection. See the photos for the menu. Kailua pork taco had a generous amount of meat. Moist and mildly spicy. The carne asada meat has a bit more cayenne pepper kick. Beans and rice mixed together on the same bowl was pretty gummy. Overcooked canned refried beans. I enjoyed the meal because I was hungry, but in perspective this food truck fare is just so-so compared to a typical truck food in my hometown of Sonoma, CA.

We grabbed a quick bite after spending the day at the nearby beach in Hanalei. The Carne Asada meat was deeeelish, with the pork being just okay. We tried the tacos and burrito; stick with the taco. Cash only. The line was pretty long and it doesn’t move quickly. It’s the only spot nearby the beach.

A friend of mine is going to be in hanalei and he asked me about recommendations. I had forgotten to give props where props are due when I was there last year. You could conceivably live on tacos from Pat’s. There is reason why there is a line everyday and why it can close early. Pat is a hoot BTW. Five Stars.

Surprisingly good mexican food that is conveniently located on a food truck right next to hanalei pier. The prices are not too steep given the convenience factor and that it’s food on the north shore of kauai. I highly recommend the carnitas tacos, so good! Two is plenty.

This business has a legit lil hustle… Unfortunately, the food is just okay on its best day… It’s like 4 – 5 $ for a side of rice and beans which is equivalent to about one cup(combined) of what tastes like microwave rice and canned refried beans. Do not get it. Pork tastes like it is crock potted… Which isn’t bad but I wouldn’t call it kalua pork… The fish tacos had two tiny strips of fish in it. And… Cash only. Blah… I wouldn’t go back. Hold out for something down the road if you can. People who post 5 star reviews for this place: A) dont know what good food is suppose to taste like B) have 5 star fever Or C) are paid to review it

Very convenient location for them to have a truck located right by the Hanalei Pier. I shared 2 tacos and 1 burrito with a friend and we were full after eating. The food itself isn’t out of this world but is delicious nonetheless. It’s a great feeling being able to enjoy fresh, hot Mexican food on the beach!

This truck sets up sometime in the morning by the Hanalei Bay pier, but they resolutely refuse to start taking orders until it’s noon, as you grow hungry with the anticipation of delicious tacos. But they do serve delicious tacos. The fish taco is fresh, generous, and makes nice use of a mango salsa(which is normally not my favorite). The pork taco is okay, but could use more smoke and spice in the meat. They lightly fry the tortillas, which is a nice touch that adds a bit of texture.

Came here from a local recommendation and was not disappointed. Be prepared only takes cash. Had the fish and pork. Holy yum.

Best food in Kauai and yes, it’s a taco truck! The carne asana tacos are delicious! It’s not a carne asada taco you’d find in Mexico but its full of amazing flavor! I think the negative reviews were expecting the street tacos you’d find in Mexico or Southern California — don’t expect that but give it a try, you won’t be sorry!

We ate lunch before heading to Hanalei Bay, but just had to try a few tacos since this place was hopping. The fish and carne asada tacos were sooooo good! We were only bummed that we had only ordered two, and bathe time we were ready for more, they had closed up. Update — we had to go back for more! This time had a proper lunch. The fish tacos, carne asada and the pork were all great! We spent $ 50 for lunch for 5 people, including drinks and were stuffed!

Awesome tacos. Had the carne asada and kalua pork and both were awesome. They are small and $ 5 a piece, and there’s not much to them, but they are good. The place is only open from 12 – 3 and it’s right at hanalei beach park — northern most part. The tacos are more like mexican tacos not island like tacos fyi. Definitely some of the best street food I’ve had.

Looking for your taco fix while on the island? This is the place. Carne asada taco — excellent Fish taco — excellent Pork carnitas — exellent Tacos are larger than typical street tacos; two are equal to the usual three found in other areas.

Service was friendly. Food came out on time. Food: Hailing from a plethora of food fusion taco trucks(SF, OAK,) I have say these reviews are suspect. Fish tacos are sub par: gently seasoned with lettuce, jicama, cilantro. Carne asada seasoned with lots of grease saturating the tortilla which falls apart after the first bite. If you want to make natural tortilla tacos, you have reduce the meat otherwise everything falls out similar to using a newspaper as umbrella in a monsoon. Quesadilla were way below expectations, using a cream cheese jalepeno??? Save that for your last am bagel spread. Cmon, it’s a food truck I get it, but you’re in Kauai where you can grow any veggie. Let’s be honest. I added the 3rd star bc they had Tapatio on their deck. I hate to compare other Unilocalers, I feel sorry if peeps find this the«great taco truck» pushing away from other greater food stops. Never stop eating.

The carne asada taco is amazing. Pretty big too. I also had the fish taco and it was ok, but I would definitely return for the carne asada on my next visit.

If you go here, go with Pat’s steakadilla, which is not on the menu. It’s tasty. The pork is also delicious. Drinks are tasty and only $ 1. They are reasonable price being the only option at Hanalei Bay.

The most unassuming food truck boasts the most flavorful Mexican food I have had in a long while. «Eat Tacos» it states: pretty much the only decoration. I’m a rebel though so I decided to try the fish burrito. It was delicious– charred, grilled fresh fish with veggies and rice and the perfect amount of a unique white sauce. Usually fish burritos are served with way too much slaw-like filling but this one was great! The portion was not huge but the perfect amount. The staff was friendly and efficient! In addition, the location can’t be beat. Beautiful, scenic Hanalei Harbor is a gem in Kauai and this delicious food only helped make our experience better!

This seriously has to be the BEST taco truck in all of the United States! I love tacos and this has to be the best one I have ever had! I had the steak taco with everything and it’s so delicious! Don’t miss out! Plus it’s right on the beach

Pat’s Taqueria is located on Hanalei Beach. Pat’s provides hot fresh burritos and tacos made to order. I trully appreciate Pat’s being here. Really convenient not having to drive to get food. I wasn’t expecting much but was really surprise how good the burrito and tacos were. The pork is tender, marriage with shredded cabbage. The fish tacos is made from Marlin fish, fresh and moist. The portion is not huge but good enough to fill you up. Price is reasonable considering where you are. Bottom line, Pat’s provides hot delicious food right on the beach. If you don’t feel like driving, Pat’s is your next best thing!
