Consistently good burgers and sandwiches. Spicy wings are delicious, as are perch and cod dinners. Great soups too. We have never had anything but great friendly service but for those complaining about curmudgeonly owner — he passed away last fall. Bar was closed over the winter and re-opened this spring. We were in there last week and it was hopping — lively crowd and great service. Family friendly thru the evening, we don’t hesitate to bring the kids there unless we’re grabbing a late night bite. If they would freshen up the interior and make it a little brighter rating would be five star. It is a little dark and drab.

The Blue Cheese burger was perfect! Juicy & cooked exactly to my liking — medium rare! I had it with a local Short’s beer & I ordered the sweet potato fries which were great! My only suggestion to the chef would be that they should be served with some kind of dipping sauce. A garlic aioli or a sweet mustard would have been a nice addition. All in all a great meal!

It may not be the prettiest place you’ve ever been, but the burgers always keep me coming back.

We walked by here tonight, and the sign taped to the door says: «Closed due to equipment failure.» I think«equipment failure» is code for«owner is incarcerated.»

Not a good atmosphere. Waited over an hour for two simple meals for a late lunch. Service was not great, guy was nice but not very attentive and had too much to handle. Ordered chili to come before lunch, never came and we had to go ask for them to tell us they didn’t have any left. Food was mediocre. Go somewhere else.

BARFHARBOR! Horrible experience: we waited over an hour and a half for food that was completely wrong! To top it off, the most rude owner we have come across in the restaurant business grabbed our food away from us when we said that are food orders were wrong. Sail away you miserable pirate!

Great food in a local atmosphere. Service is good. You can play pool too ! Good burgers and a place to chill. Especially after a motorcycle ride.

Conveniently located with friendly staff but the atmosphere is dank and the food, while OK, is overpriced(a $ 12 burger should blow me away – mine was far from it).

Holy cow. These burgers are some of the best we have had. Olive burger with swiss is to die for. They make them all by hand. Staff was great. Place was clean. We would make the 3 hour drive to have the burgers.

Gave 5 stars because if the burgers. Great food and nice little bar to hang out at with a perfect menu. They have a few beers on tap.

We are in town for just a few days and of the few places open, this was the worst. We were having a great experience until my husband had to use the restroom. The door was locked with an occupant for almost 20 minutes. He came back, distressed as he has irritable bowel syndrome and asked what to do. We suggested he use the woman’s restroom since the restaurant was not crowded. He used it quickly and returned without anyone trying to use it. At that point, the owner/gordens fisherman verbally abused and yelled at him for using the wrong facilty and. Promptly asked us to leave. It was embarrassing and rude and should not be tolerated. I want to add that it was a young child who was sick in the bathroom– his dad asked him to use the other bathroom as well so he wouldn’t be embarrassed. It was all in all a terrible situation provoked by a Neanderthal.

Good location, but has a low ceiling and is a bit dark inside. Food is delicious! The olive burger or olive-Swiss burger are highly recommended. Not very touristy, which is a welcome change from most of northwest Michigan.

Never again will I return with the current owner. The owner’s attitude is beyond rude, and has been for years. No way will I give one more cent to this jerk. The location is very good. If the miserable owner ever sells, I will go back. I look forward to the day that happens.

Good location. Owner/manager seems nice, welcoming. We liked the chili and it was our favorite menu item. The bowl is too much for one person if you are eating anything else so we split(they don’t have«cups» on the menu). Decent burgers. Mostly typical, greasy bar food. Menu includes a few salads that look like they may be good. Sit by window and you can see marina, water…

My wife and I were looking for a place to have a drink on a recent Friday afternoon. We took a couple seats at the bar and were warmly welcomed by Danny, the bartender. Having had a late lunch we didn’t eat but chatted with several regulars at, and near, the bar who were eating. Everything look very good. Seemed like a good old fashioned tavern and we will defintely go again when in Harbor Springs.

We have visited here many times over the years and always enjoyed stopping thus the two stars now instead of just one. But that changed a week ago we stopped on Saturday and were socked by the rude reception exhibited by the host at the moment. The food and beer helped to off set the«greeter». We ending up joking about his poor behavior. In reading other reviews it would be safe to assume he was the owner.

1 star only because they have beer. The owner has been, over the last 13 years of coming here in the Summer, a complete & utter douche bag. He hates everyone. I think he hates himself. He is completely rude to almost all out of towners. He lies & tells people the bar is full when it is not. Go across the street. They respect & value their customers.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant on and off for almost 30 years. The food is good, not great(and occasionally awful). Never again. However, the owner of this place is such a vile, awful person, I will never ever eat there again. I won’t go into detail, but you’d be wise to take my advise and not support this muppet.

Gosh… I really did not like this place. The staff seemed fake friendly, the bathrooms were just weird and the drinks were expensive. The menu was unimpressive. We left after one beer.

Awesome little bar restaurant on the Harbor Springs lakefront in a cute little shopping center! The menu is vast and they are known for their burgers, but especially the they are known for their olive swiss burger. Sadly, since I hate olives and swiss cheese make me nauseous… I stuck with my Michigan favorite. Fried perch. BF got the olive burger and said it was great, a little to many olives, but otherwise very satisfied. My sandwich came with cheddar cheese on it and fresh amazeballs fries! Oh and the beers on tap are FABULOUS! What’s better than a fried fish sandwich and Sam Adams on tap… um, not a whole lot. Definitely an old school bar, and loved every minute of it! I think its family owned, but don’t quote me on that. The only reason I say that is because the waiters are really chill and it just has the homey feel.
