The Outfitter is the go to place for outdoor activities in Petoskey/Harbor Springs. They have everything you need whether your sport be down hill skiing, skate skiing, jogging, camping, hiking, cross country skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking etc. They also have rentals if you just want to try something out. What really makes the Outfitter stand out is their local knowledge and care for the community in organizing and sponsoring events such as the annual Little Traverse ½ marathon every October and the annual Loppit which is a 16 mile backwoods cross country ski event every January.

The Outfitter is one of those places that I always have to stop by when I am in HS. They do have a nice little clearance section where you can find mostly out of season deals for men, women and kids. I love looking at all of the new styles out for the current season as well. All skiers know the importance of looking good on the slopes! As the other reviewer mentioned, it’s a great place to just run in and grab something you need. For example, the dryer ate one of my ski socks recently and I ran in to pick up a replacement pair at Outfitter. The staff is nice and helpful, without being pushy. So next time you are in HS stop into Outfitter and support the local economy!

If you’re in Harbor Springs, you already have what you need to go skiing, or know someone that can get it for you. If you don’t, this is a great place to shop. Rental rates are cheaper than the resorts, but you’d have to carry them up there, and if you are renting, you probabally don’t have a rack anyways. Great assortment of outdoor goods, at only slighly higher prices. check out their clearance sections, otherwise, shop where you live, unless you live in Harbor springs, and you don’t need me telling you anything about it, right?
