The fries were very mediocre, but the pesto chicken sandwich I had was really great. I would definitely go back for that, and the good service. One thing I have to wonder, though, for a sports bar, why would you have lamps in front of your TVs, blocking them in the dining area? That didn’t make much sense to me. So if you’re not dead set on being able to see everything on the TV, give it a try!

What a great find! We arrived on a Sunday evening and the bar was packed. The music playing throughout the place was perfect — loud enough to enjoy and low enough to hear the people you are with. The service was attentive and the waiters recommendations were spot on. We enjoyed the Spanish infused meatloaf with rum glazed carrots(perfect) and the roasted red potatoes were enjoyable. The Pittsburgher that comes with a bacon blue cheese fried egg coleslaw and french fries(I got the coleslaw and fries on the side instead of on it) was cooked perfectly. My only regret is that I don’t live close enough to frequent this place more often. If I lived nearby it would become my go to place.

I visited here for the first time on 12÷19÷15 and I was pleasantly surprised! I was there shortly after they opened that morning and was with three other people. There were only a few other people/tables there at the time. We were there to watch a soccer game. Let’s start with the service there. The staff all seemed incredibly nice. Food and drink came out in a reasonable time. Our waitress checked up on us the perfect amount as well. She also reacted cheerfully and quickly when we asked her if she could change the channel of the TV near us so we could watch our game. There was a moment when the TV feed for our game froze, and another staff member quickly got the issue fixed. When my water was brought out, there was a dark speck in it. The waitress apologized and quickly replaced the drink once I brought it to her attention. I was impressed by the food menu, as they had a very good selection of delicious sounding food. I split an order of cheese and bacon tots with my boyfriend, my one friend ordered the BBQ wontons, and my other friend ordered a sandwich which I can’t for the life of me recall the name of. While it was a simple dish, the tots tasted great. No complaints there! I also took a BBQ wonton from my friend since they were huge! My friend knew he couldn’t finish them all, so he gave me one. I’m glad he did because they tasted fantastic. I was truly surprised by how good they were! Lastly, the alcohol menu was very large. They basically had anything you could ever want to drink. I felt like they were reasonably priced as well. My only complaint is that they didn’t have descriptions on many of the mixed drinks. I felt like that would have really helped me to make a selection faster and easier. Finding a parking place there wasn’t the easiest, and since you’re in Harrisburg, you’re paying for parking. That’s really one of the only things keeping me from going back.

Hubby had been wanting to try this place for awhile, so we came here on a Friday night for food and drinks before Christmas shopping. We originally had reservations for 6:00, but decided to come at 5:00 so we could get started shopping(and drinking) earlier :) This proved to be no issue and we were cheerfully seated. Since we were there for Happy Hour(5:00−7:00), draft beers were half price. Of course, hubby takes a nice hoppy beer from their pretty nice list. I had a vodka cranberry, which was nice and strong. So, the food. Ok, I have to say this. It’s no secret I’m a huge burger fan. And I’ve decided to be a bit more adventurous in my menu selections when we go out to eat. So I had… wait for it… the peanut butter, strawberry jelly, and bacon burger. Seriously. And as much as I never thought I’d say this, it’s easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. You gotta trust me on this one. The burger was seasoned perfectly and the jelly played so well off the salty bacon. The PB acts like a cheese. I’m going to need to come back once a week for this thing. Really. The fries were nice and crisp and delicious. They could’ve been a bit hotter, but that’s just my thing. Hubby had the steak frites. Steak was done maybe a touch over the mid rare he requested, but it was so tasty with the sauce and garlic aioli fries. Yum! I’ll admit that when he was full I scarfed up the rest of his meal. I’m a pig… Service was great, we didn’t think the place was too loud either. Tab for 2 beers, 2 strong vodka crans served in a tall glass, an amazing burger, and a steak dish…$ 44. We already have reservations for Sunday for their brunch. I gotta try the pork belly Benedict…

My husband and I absolutely adore this place. On our 1st trip to the area, we were walking around downtown looking for breakfast/brunch but nothing seemed to be open. When we passed the bar that we had planned to go to later in the day, the girl setting up the patio told us that we should try this place out. She gave us directions and sent us on our way. We love you Hannah! Our 1st experience was for the footballers breakfast that happens on Saturdays during Futbol season. A semi traditional English style breakfast and it was just what we needed. Since then we’ve been back for Sunday brunch and we always bring new people. Everything I’ve had on the menu is great from the basic breakfast plate, to their biscuits and gravy to the special of the day, you will not leave disappointed or hungry. They have a fantastic beer selection as well and I highly recommend their blueberry tea concoction. Can’t wait to visit again this month!

Very solid meh. There’s nothing wrong with The Speakeasy; I’ve always had pleasant experiences, but I think as Harrisburg gets more restaurants, this place seems more mediocre. The food is OK, but it’s not wonderful or local. The atmosphere is alright but it’s sometimes loud and sports bar-y. The service ranges from OK to great. Alone, it’s probably 4 stars, but compared to its peers(within walking distance) I just had to remove one star. I’ve been quite a few times, just if I want a break from my usual spots, or want a meal that’s slightly cheaper than, say, the Millworks. Try it if you’re looking for something new, you may simply have different food preferences than I do!

go for brunch! The bacon and sausage gravy over biscuits was killer and the corned beef hash is some of the best I’ve ever had!

Stopped in for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The bar area was pretty busy, so we sat in the small dining area at the back. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered the firecracker shrimp to start. It was a nice portion of lightly battered and fried shrimp in a mildly spicy chili-soy sauce. Very good and pretty similar to the famous«bang bang shrimp» at Bonefish Grill – only not as creamy and more asian-flavored. I ordered the crispy chicken ranch sandwich on focaccia. The chicken was crispy and juicy, which is a rare combo. The bacon, lettuce, and tomato went well with the ranch sauce. My mom ordered the Delmonico steak. It was cooked to her liking and very tender and had almost no gristle. They had a large selection of craft beer. The vibe is very chill here.

Came in for a late dinner a few weeks back. Bar staff and waiter were prompt to help me out. Friendly and ontop during the whole visit. Ordered a Manhattan Speak Easy Style. Asked for suggestions and ended up with the peanut butter, bacon, and grape jelly brisket burger(PBBJ) served with a side of choice. Drink was stiff like I expected. Nothing deceiving here. I ordered a second one which played well with my meal. The food came at a good time. The PBBJ Brisket sandwich as they call it. The combination of ingredients for the burger sounds disgusting however came out hot. The sweetness of jelly matched well with the saltiness of the ground brisket and peanut butter. I enjoyed every bite of the meal. Fries were okay. Only complaint was how messy this meal was. I ended up with jelly in my wallet that was sitting on the counter. Good: food, service, atmosphere and drinks. More than affordable. Bad: nothing to date. I would come back for the food, beverages, service, and atmosphere.

I really rarely take the time to write reviews. But this time I had to. One of the best Reuben sandwiches I’ve ever had, amazing. Great beer too!

I had a stupendous plate of monkfish and risotto at Sturges Speakeasy. Partner had the nachos which were enjoyed also. I had a pint of Standard cider from their extensive beer and cider list. It took a while for the servers to sort our who was actually going to take our table but once that happened our service was pretty good.

Wow what a great find! This bar has nostalgia and character but is not old school stuffy. Was greeted immediately by bar tender, I was able to work while have some good food and great drinks. Good jukebox too! Chris the bartender was super friendly with both the regulars and new customers(like me) Well done will be back when I visit!

Had no idea what to expect when I entered. was thinking a small little bar. Inside is very nice. Food is slightly higher priced but the qiuality and portions justify it. I had the salad and turkey wrap, both were very good. I will be back, but I will not make a special trip. Too much in the area to try.

Overview: Great food, with large portions and decently priced. Well-worth a try. Food: I’ve eaten several things on the menu and have always enjoyed what I had. Recommend: The fish sandwich is huge and very good. During Octoberfest, they have a special menu and the jaegerschnitzel was superb. The burgers are large and well-seasoned. Always check the specials! Atmosphere: Typical bar atmosphere. On weekends and nights it can get rather loud. You can ask to sit at the back or upstairs for a quieter time. Service: I have always had a good experience with the service. Occasionally the food can be a bit slow to come out, but that’s usually if they’re busy. The waitresses have always been very nice.

One of the better bars in Harrisburg. Few vegetarian options, but that is better than none. Prices for liquor can be a bit high. Clean, decent crowd, and not on 2nd street(A big plus).

Decent place. Food is very oily. Bacon tastes like the old fried oil from their fryer. Terrible. Pork belly eggs Benedict tastes good. Oily though. Biscuit is dry and bland but you have the sauce to help. Corn beef has was a mix of oily potatoes and corn beef. The potatoes were not crispy because of the amoutn of oil used. Breakfast burrito was bad. It was like bland mush with cabbage in a wrap. The description sounds good, but don’t get it. Coffee was okay. Some watered down maxwell house coffee. Harrisburg doens’t have many brunch places…

Wow. That is all I have to say. This place is the epitome of a cool bar, different, good food, but great drinks. The bar staff are definitely mixologists, and take pride in doing drinks right. You can get all kinds of classic and new drinks, things that no other bar has. The best part, not mentioned enough here — the price. OK, an entire big page of good sized drinks for 5 bucks. A whole page of shooters, 6 bucks, and jello shots for a buck. Honestly, this is top three bars in the area. The deck is really cool, and the whole place is really well decorated. The food — AWESOME! The calamari here is literally, the best we have ever had, and we are pretty foody-ish. Perfectly softened and cooked, great mix of sauce, not too much or too little. The candied nut/chicken salad is ridiculous. Seriously, go to this place.
