Just your standard Dunkin Donuts, perhaps, but the service here is what makes it four-star-worthy. I ducked in here just before 7 on a cold night to get a small coffee and warm up while waiting for a nearby dinner reservation. This Dunkin’s closes at 7, so they were out of the dark roast. Totally understandable, right? Well, the cashier was still super apologetic and gave me a free upgrade to a medium coffee to make up for the inconvenience. Totally unexpected and totally sweet. I’ll be back here for sure. :)

Heck, I understand this is just a Dunkin Donuts. All the need to do is have fresh donuts, make some sandwiches, and serve beverages. So, if that is the expectations and that is what they do, especially well, then why the low ratings. Speedy, friendly service and a perfect DD cup of coffee… love it. I may be an outlier here, but i was super happy at this Dunkin Donuts. Great example of this successful franchise.

This is a small busy location but convenient from most places downtown. Hours are very convenient but service is extremely hit or miss. Weekday mornings are usually bearable, the manager does a good job of keeping things going. However, the service on the weekends is terrible — it’s slow and inaccurate. Many times we have had to ask for forgotten drinks or food, which is frustrating when you’ve already waited longer than usual for an order.

This is a very busy location in downtown Hartford. The staff is very quick though and processes a lot of orders in a short amount of time so don’t let a long line intimidate you. Really close to work so I’ve walked over a copule of times for a caffine pickup!

within walking distance to all the major downtown work areas and friendly staff. The guy in the back always requires a smile!

What I love most about this DD is that it’s open on the weekends! Seriously, everything else closes on Saturday/Sunday in Hartford. No really, everything else shuts down. This place remains open and therefore ends up very crowded with the hotel and event crowds. The coffee is reliable and fresh.

When I was at my previous job this used to be my go-to Dunkin Donuts. I would often go here if it was my turn to bring in bagels for our Wesnesday breakfasts, and if it was a rough day I would go out for a walk and grab coffee. It was a bit further than I would want to work normally(especially when really hot or really cold). Its a bit small of a location considering the traffic of the area, and they only have 2 registers which can make it back up a little bit. What I love about this location is that they are usually used to test out new products. They have had the Flat Breads and Pizza which DD started carrying about 1.5 years ago, for probably 3 years. Its pretty cool to get to see what their next thing might be, and try it out there. I do still hit up this DD a bit because they are the only one in downtown open on the weekends(except maybe the train station, which is WAY too far for me).
