With the bus stops right outside the door, and being right around the corner from the entrance to Travelers this is a pretty busy place, but they’re also pretty efficient. They’ve always gotten my order right and the service is pretty fast. Convenient and inexpensive, so I’ll keep going back.

This is my go-to Dunkin location since it’s right near my office. It’s an incredibly busy location — that’s probably a function of 1) the downtown location, and 2) the number of workplaces close to it. Every time I go there is a huge line, sometimes winding past the front door. That said, I felt compelled to review this location because the service is excellent. The customer service people move through the line very quickly, but without any rudeness. The staff works very well together to move people through quickly while also getting out accurate orders. If you work in the area, this is a solid place to get the mid-morning/late afternoon pick-me-up that can only come from a big cup of coffee!

During the work week the line is always out of control long. Soul crushingly so. But the line moves at a good pace because of efficient workers. And the prices are perfect for me, and as a new Englander I love their coffee!

Pretty solid as far as Dunkin Donuts goes. It’s smack dab in the middle of Downtown Hartford and a lot of the Traveler’s folk come in here in the mornings to get their coffee, so the line can stretch to the door around 8 – 9AM. However, that’s not too big a problem since they have a lot of staff working to keep things moving swiftly. Quality of service is pretty steady; only issue I have had is the one tim when I went in around 4PM to grab an egg wrap and an iced green tea. The cashier gave me a weird look because I requested almond milk in my tea(really, it’s put in hot/ice coffee as well as hot tea; does the fact that it’s iced REALLY make a difference?) and I ordered a sausage wrap but got a veggie one instead. I was confused, since I was probably the only other customer in there, but I didn’t wanna make waves over something small. Overall, steady service in a busy location. Oh, and they offer free WiFi; forgot to mention that. They have also have a good amount of seating and a big screen TV that always shows CNN. This is the DD I probably frequent the most during the school semester.

Average Dunkin Donuts. I go to this location because it is close to home. Occasionally you find homeless people hanging out inside the store sitting in the back tables. You know they’re homeless because they display all their personal belongings out on the tables. They don’t smell and don’t bother the customers so I think the staff tolerate them. Otherwise, average location. Nothing too crazy here.

I’ve been into this DD a few times, always with quick — albeit flighty and uninterested — service from the employees. It is a little irritating that there are blank stares and glazed-over looks coming from across the counter, but it is a fast food joint and there are hundreds of people that come in and out of the doors every day, so I can’t blame the employees for looking a little out of it. But today, after trying a local coffee shop that I’d been to before for some Wi-Fi, and being turned away as their Wi-Fi was down, I headed to Dunkin Donuts and decided to try out their very own selection of hot tea. I opted for the lemon, and the girl behind the counter asked if I wanted sugar, so I said yes. The result? It was $ 1.40 something and is seriously probably the best hot tea I’ve ever had. I mean, it helps that the tea was paid for with a gift card, but this tea is still hot and it’s a half-hour later. Just the taste alone is enough to rave about. It’s really flavorful, but not overpowering, and the amount of sugar is precise to the point of perfection. I also dig that they keep CNN on the big flat screen TV. And the only thing I’d really kvetch about is that the employees — the glazed-over ones — tend to be pretty focused on what’s going on betwixt themselves rather than the growing lines, sometimes. So it goes. This place is a winner, a keeper, a true DD experience.

This Dunkin Donuts is my go to location when I need a break from work. You can see me in here most days right around 2pm looking like if I don’t get coffee I am going to rip someone’s head off from stress, its good times. You will clearly know what to expect coffee wise because its DD, so I really wont go into that at all. Don’t let a long line fool you, because its often long, because they have usually 5 – 6 people behind the counter so it will move quickly, especially since most are only getting coffee, and not anything to eat(at least when I go in). Like Chaviva said, the people behind the counter can be hit or miss. Some of the employees are great and very friendly. Others just want to take your order and have you move along to the next person. They also don’t seem to ever look up when calling for the next person, since they are still making the coffee for the person behind you. Often you will just hear«can I help you» but don’t know who said it. However if you don’t answer them, you can expect the second calling to not be as friendly. Overall though, pretty good and efficient. Just an FYI, they are closed weekends though, which sucks for those of us stuck out there working during their busy season.
