I am leaving the island today and this will be my third time using the service. We had a great time our home was clean and when ever we encountered a problem, such a a broken blender, they replaced it the same day, and with a smile! Piña colada day was saved! So close to the beach so friendly such a great vacation and my whole family had fun!

We were very disappointed with Midgett Realty this year. Our rental house sustained some damage during the hurricane and repairs took place during the week that we rented the house. Roofers tore off the old roof and put on new shingles. As a result, four of the seven days we were there were interrupted by loud noise and huge messes. The roofers began working at 8 AM — which is not a relaxing vacation for us. They also blocked the only entrance to the house for several hours — trapping us outside during lunchtime. We had to drive in our beach clothes to eat ice cream for lunch. We didn’t have many lunch choices as one of the people in our group has food allergies and cannot eat at most restaurants. Furthermore, the roofers did not clean up and left nails all down the outside stairwell and in the carport area. I contacted Midgett Realty to see if we could get a price adjustment on the rental. I understand that repairs needed to be completed, however this was an expensive vacation for us. I was told that a manager would contact me within a day. Several days went by… no contact. I reached out again to Midgett Realty — again no response. After returning home, I called the office and was told a manager would call me back the same day. Well, guess what… no phone call. This is unacceptable customer service. I think we will have to try a better agency next year!

If you’d like your maintenance requests to go in responded to and every call be routed right to voicemail, this is the realty company to deal with! Empty promises. No returned phone calls. And then when you call the office to voice your concerns, you’re laughed at. If you’d like to pay extra money for services that you won’t receive, go through Midgett.

Over the years, Midgett has been the Agent for probably 80% of the properties we’ve rented. They have ALWAYS been head and shoulders above the others (and the others are good!). Don’t mess around. Go to a name synonymous with Hatteras!

Sunset Resorts 2A — RIO2A. The view and deck hot tub are wonderful attributes of this condo! The open floor plan is great! There are several owner issues that need attention such as the master bedroom mattress is very hard and the springs are easily felt through the mattress pad/​sheets. There are stains on the LR cushions and one is torn wide open. There is a huge crack in the granite at the kitchen sink, the kitchen needs bar/​wine ware and a set of kitchen towels and the bathrooms each need a bath rug. Overlooking these items the unit is located in a great area, you can walk to a few restaurants and coffee shops, the beach is an easy walk, the pool is nice and the sunsets are fabulous. I made the property manager aware of these issues and a few cleaning and maintenance items. They offered to return to attend to the issues but we were settled and unpacked and didn’t want the interruption. They gladly offered a small discount for our trouble. We will continue to call on the professionals of Midgett Realty. They are a wonderful group with great customer relations skills. Thank you!

We have been vacationing in the Outer Banks for the past 20 years. 90% of the time we book our house through Midgett Realty. Their web site is very easy to navigate. It has tons of photos of the homes as well as map locations. The staff is always friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Midgett seems to get a nicer class of vacation homes and they all seem to be recently built. Some homes are more equipped than other but the ease of access to the beach is second to none! A big Bronx cheer to the National Park Service for implementing a $ 50/​week fee for a four wheel drive beach permit. It sucks but is well worth it. We defiantly recommend an OBX vacation and to book it with Midgett Realty.

We have stayed at «Everlasting Moon» 3 times over the past 6 years. It is managed by Midgett Realty in Rodanthe. This home is ocean front and has spectular view of the ocean from three decks and bedrooms. There are 4 bedrooms (the upper level could be used as a BR as well) and 3 baths.
The home is well maintained (remember is a beach RENTAL) and CLEAN. Midgett’s housekeeping team does a very good job. It a very good value for the location.
We had a couple of issues (coffee maker didn’t work, missing silverware). Unfortunately, or arrival was late on Saturday and the office was closed. The items were promptly replaced on Sunday.
I meet the Manager of the office as well as several of the staff. I found them to be pleasant and had a great time talking to them. One of the office staff made several suggestions for wine and cheese locations. All are very knowledgeable of the area and are very helpful.
This only serves to reinforce my positive attitude about Midgett, the people of the Outer Banks and the owners of the property.
Thanks to each and everyone of you!!! We will be planning our next trip to the OB soon and look forward to working with Midgett and the staff at Rodanthe. We will be staying at Everlasting Moon again.

Midgett Realty, thanks for helping us plan a great vacation! The reservations and booking expereince was helpful, thorough and efficient. The website is comprehenisve and easy to use. Plus, we found the perfect house for us; The Reeled Inn on Oceanview Drive.
The Reeled Inn was perfect for us, even though it is one of the older, less fancy houses, because it is in such a great location. Oceanfront, GORGEOUS views, steps to the beach, a short, short walk to the huge community pool and tennis courts, and conveniently located across the street from the only grocery store for miles and miles!
We loved The Reeled Inn, and dealing with the Midgett staff was a pleasure from check-​in through check-​out.

Hi All,
My friends go every year to Hatteras in the early winter/​late fall for a fishing trip. For 6 years they have booked with Midgett Realty… and we will continue to book with them because they have done an excellent job for us.
We love coming to Hatteras, and we appreciate the ease of booking (though off season) with Midgett.

They’ve got some of the best rental properties on the Outer Banks. Midgett is an old Island name, and they know how to do beach houses. The only issue I’ve encountered in 20+ years of vacationing is that housekeeping can be a bit slow in getting your house ready. But that’s not necessarily their fault.
Everything is generally clean and well-​kept, and the majority of the houses have all the most recent amenities. Lots of properties to choose from as well.

Rent your vacation property from them, they are actually «natives» of Hatteras. Best rental unit. Point II. All amenities and RIGHT on the beach.
