What an amazing experience. The ride was so smooth and so comfortable. We were lucky to make the sunset ferry for the ride back. Got amazing pictures

The workers are nice and they must have a stressful job trying to get everyone on and off. I recommend going on the ferry to get to ocracoke island if you like the quiet peaceful beaches and you want to visit the lighthouse. The lighthouse had historic significance, it’s one of the oldest in NC and the nation and it had rustic simplistic beauty. Getting to ocracoke island on the ferry wasn’t a problem, we were able to get right on during Memorial Day weekend BUT it seems like everybody on the island is in the ferry line to get back to Cape Hatteras, residents and deliveries to and from the island get first priority… For this reason we had to wait a little over an hour to get on the third ferry, hence the 4 stars… However, there is a beach you can easily walk to while to wait for the ferry.
