The Good: + Felt alot of ono from the staff! + Prime location if you’re stopping by Punaluu Beach. + Butter mochi(delicious house made). + Boiled peanuts(delicious house made). + Pipikaula(delicious house cured). The Not So Good: — Poke was not the freshest. Ahi had already started to oxidize and was a bit fishy. Bottom Line: Great store to gather up essentials for going to the beach. Location is prime.

Love this country store! The homemade brownies and butter mochi are the best. Very friendly service, very old school!

I love this store! Geat customer service and awesome foooood! It’s a must to stop by too if ever driving past. Samurai soft serves, fresh poke, pastele, & really convinient store since we camp & go fishing across the street at the beach.

Good little store that has everything you need. We usually fish or swim across the street or nearby and stop here for supplies if needed. Fishing supply, other gears, food food food, Korean Chicken Mochi Diamond Head soda its all good. Support local!

We stumbled upon this place since we had to buy some stuff. Good thing they had Ahi Poke over Hot Rice at that time. I would drive here again on my next Hawaii trip hoping they have Ahi Poke, better than the overpriced ones in Waikiki. Awesome! Since it’s along the way to North Shore, this is a great stop over on your way to the Shrimp Trucks.

Best butter mochi, bake daily. Great poki bowl, was really fresh. Home-made plantation ice tea was refreshing.

On my Sunday road trip around the island with Kac and Moda, we made a quick stop at Chings’ Punaluu Store. We knew where we wanted to eat lunch(Opal Thai, see my review) *shameless plug*, but we didn’t know what we were going to have to hold us over. Queue, Chings’. We picked up a few musubis, a container of poke and some of that butter mochi. The musubis were aight. Good. but nothing really special. The butter mochi was awesome and the poke was super fresh. Everything created a perfect snack to hold us over to an awesome lunch. Normally, I don’t go to many of these mom and pop general stores. However, when you are going around the island on a sunny day, you will more than likely find your way to one of them. I will definitely recommend stopping at Chings’, but I will also recommend stopping at ANY mom and pop store. Hawaii is home for many small businesses and we need to support them.

I liked this dusty little store. You can’t find too many staples here, but the lady behind the counter said she makes her butter mochi fresh daily. It was really good. This is a good place to go for cold drinks and last-minute beach munchies.

Best butter mochi. If you’ve never had butter mochi you should try it here. It’s a convenience store, it’s not a restaurant, but they do have a lot of small prepared foods you can buy and enjoy on one of the nearby beaches. On our visit to Oahu, we stopped by here twice for the butter mochi and considered a third visit even.
