My husband and I stopped here for dinner and was pleased. I looked at the reviews and they were dead on. The guacamole was DELICIOUS! My husband had the Shrimp Mexicana and I had the Shrimp enchilada with green sauce. Very, very good! Not too happy about the Jamaican drink, wasn’t sure what taste they were trying to come up with but the water with lime was good, lol! We did drink it, no wasting food

I woke up with a stomach ache this morning. Because I ate too many of these amazing tacos. Seriously kids these are the real deal no frills tacos. As good as La Hacienda and for a little less dough. Would be nice if they could throw some pico de gallo in as well though, probably the only upshot of going to the other joint. Gauc was on point as well.

This is the best Mexican food I’ve had since eating in Mexico. The Mexican sausage in the taco was just the right flavor and was baked just right. My son said the pastor taco was better than any he had in nyc. His girl friend’s shrimp in garlic sauce was also delicious and generous. The shrimps were huge! The waitress was pleasant and helpful. A great little restaurant!

The shrimp tostado is my absolute favorite & the burritos are a generous sized portion. I also enjoy the camarones al diablo which has a nice kick to it. Every dish just bursts with flavor! Simply awesome authentic Mexican food.

Tacos are ok nothing special like the ones you would find in the city. Very dry unless you drown them with sauce. Can be pretty pricey if buying for more than 2 people. Not too filling either. Nice people though. :)

My boyfriend, who works in Haverstraw, and I had lunch plans that fell through. We decided to check out Unilocal and find somewhere that would deliver to his job, that way he could work and eat. We had ordered 2 steak big burritos and they were awesome. The burritos came with rice and beans, freshly slices avocados, lettuce, and tomatoes. The burrito itself was extremely tasty. There was plenty of steak and it packed a lot of flavor. The wait time for delivery took a long time, but totally worth it. Defiantly going to be ordering from this place again!

To echo an earlier review, this place is the real deal in all the best ways. The food is delicious and fresh(we highly recommend any of the pork tacos, carnitas were our favorite) and the staff is so so kind. The waitresses were very accommodating of the huge group of gringos who wanted to try a little bit of everything– they smiled and laughed with us through lots and lots of complicated ordering. Lots of choices paired with readily given genuine recomendations make it easy to order even if you aren’t an expert. The staff must have overheard that we were celebrating a birthday and brought us over desserts and sang with us at the end of the meal– something that I usually hate but because the staff was so kind, genuine, and joyful it felt like a real family celebration, not like grumpy strangers awkwardly participating in a family event. It was so sweet and fun. We all left feeling energized, giggly and stuffed! Five stars any day of the week!

Five stars for a taco joint? Yes, indeed. Let me start by stating we are not from the area. A family member was a patient at a nearby hospital and we were looking for some good lunch nearby. There are a dozen or more Mexican restaurants(along with an Ecuadorian restaurant, Mexican bakeries and bread stores, etc.) in this wonderful little town. We had the shrimp tacos and the veggie tacos, along with some rice and beans(first visit) and the trout roasted in foil and more tacos on our second visit. The servings were abundant, the quality top-notch and the service, from this extended family from a small village in the state of Puebla in Mexico, extremely warm and personal. They explained that the trout was a specialty of their small town, so I heartily recommend it to you. It is served with eight tamales, so you can either dip or wrap. Accompany whatever you eat with a fresh fruit juice or horchata, all made on premises. Tacos Marianita is a gem. Very highly recommended. Very friendly and caring ownership and management.

Such great food! The restaurant is very small and needs a facelift, but the food is so great and that’s really all that matters! I’ve been here 3 times, and always get the guacamole, which is amazing. It always tastes so fresh! If you’re looking for great authentic Mexican food I definitely recommend this place.

This place is the real deal. The mister and I went up on a Sunday for dinner. We ordered the guacamole which was delicious. And the chips were out of this world! I had the tacos: steak, longaniza(chorizo), and al pastor. The chorizo tacos were the best of the bunch. Very flavorful and with a smoky, grilled flavor. The pastor were ok. I was expecting a little more flavor. The steak were also good and benefitted from the smoky red hot sauce they have. The mister also had tacos: steak, chicken, and al pastor. He wasn’t as crazy about the steak and said the chicken tasted like it wasn’t very fresh. To drink he had a mango agua fresca and I had an horchata. Mine was good although a tad bit too sweet. We will definitely be going back.

I went to this restaurant for the first time tonight. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I wanted to try a different place. I was so happy Unilocal brought me here. First & foremost, the food is delicious! Authentic Mexican fare, NOT Taco Bell! I as the cheese enchiladas and my fiancé had the chicken burrito. Both were delicious. They brought us warm chips with two different salsas — one mild and one spicy. We also ordered a papaya, pineapple, & strawberry agua fresca. It was also delicious! It was basically a fruit smoothie but it went well with the food. It’s a small place. You can either take out or sit & eat. There was only one waitress, but it wasn’t busy, so she attended to everyone in a timely fashion. The service was quick and the food wasn’t expensive. When we were giving our orders, the waitress answered our questions. She was the one who suggested the smoothie and she was right on the money! The décor was also authentic Mexican… not sombreros and dancing cacti. All in all, a great place if you’re looking for an authentic Mexican place.

I got the steak tacos with a side of rice and beans, everything was great and it was only $ 9. I like the traditional style of their tacos. They have chopped onions and cilantro with a couple slices of radish and a slice of lime and green sauce on the side. The rice and beans are yellow rice and refried beans. I’ll definitely go back.

Okay this California girl loves her some REAL Mexican food. I think I have tried 7 places claiming to be Mexican food, but they lie. Marianitas is the real deal. Their tacos are amazing. Chicken is real chicken, not shredded, topped with cilantro, onion, and delicious mild salsa verde. Squeeze a bunch of lime on top and you will be craving those babies for the next two weeks(as I am right now). They also have a gigantic portion of flan that is pretty decent. Aguas frescas, plate dinner, enchiladas, all the usual accompaniments can be found here. Small little hole in the wall diner on west street, metered parking up front and across the street. Yummilicious Factor= B++

The chips were stale, and so was my rice — very dry. The tacos were bland. My friend ordered the cheese steak chimichanga and described it as ‘dry and flavourless’. Another friend got the chuletas which he thought were OK. Overall would not recommend.

This is the real deal – the tacos are garnished with fresh ingredients like my beloved taco carts back in Queens. No oozing with cheese Americanized Mexican here. My chorizo taco was textured just right, the green hot sauce was just hot enough for my admittedly wimpy tolerance for hot stuff. I washed my meal down with a horchata, which was just sweet and milky enough perfect to balance the spice of my tacos. Compared with other Mexican Restaurants in the area, this place is super affordable. A lot of Rockland’s Mexican options are expensive sit-down restaurants. The dining is much more casual here, and you’ll save a bundle compared to these fancier places.
