If I want to indulge, Popeye’s style of Fried Chicken is my favorite. Their mashed potatoes aren’t bad either. They add some heat to their potatoes, which I can’t quite put my finger on, but my best guess is green chiles and a dash of cayenne. The chicken has a crunchy yet delicate skin, and it tastes like real chicken… you know, the kind that has a beak and some feathers. Not sure though, so don’t take my word for it. I know someone who knows that fast food chicken is terrible, this review will not mean much. But out of all the terribles… Popeye’s is the best. I also tried the fried shrimp… meh. YMMV

All that money they charged me for Shrimp and they couldn’t give me enough to make a Penguin happy. I need to stop looking at those commercials on TV, because what I end up with in the bag, just doesn’t look right. I wish the Owners of popeyes would get in touch with me, so I could tell them about this false advertisement.

No bueno, dirty store & I was bothered by all the flies in in the dining room. The cashier that took my order was too busy talking to a friend of his to pay attention to the job he was supposed to be doing

I came to Popeye’s on Tuesday September 16, 2014 The food was very nasty it had that old grease taste and the fries was cold. I waited on the food for forty minutes and wasn’t giving any ketchup for my cold fries. I could have played a couple of hands of domino’s why waiting. Today Sept. 18, 2014 Thursday I tried them again, they give me the wrong meal. I had to drive away back up to Popeye’s to return this meal. So when I ask Michelle for a refund she said no even though I have my receipt. I was told a manager was not here to help me I have to wait until tomorrow. I wasn’t offered anything for my inconvenience no complementary water or nothing while waited for 25 plus minutes for the correct order. They have the worst customer service at this location. After providing excellent customer service for my customers all evening, I do not appreciate this. They was talking about me in Spanish I guess they assume I didn’t understand. I will never forget this experience and I have no desire to support Popeye’s ever again.

My favorite here is the chicken strips and the two piece special on Tuesdays! They have the crispiest chicken and it’s so much better than KFC or Church’s. I also love the shrimp here, which is surprising because nobody thinks about going to Popeye’s for the shrimp.

I have nothing bad to say about Popeye’s. I love their Tuesday special deal for $ 1.29 and you get a thigh and leg, I always order the spicy, because it has the perfect amount of spiciness, without being over bearing. When the order is ready, the chicken is piping hot and smells so good. The people behind the counter are very friendly too. I really like the remodel. The overhead menu’s move and are like watching a commercial. Very cute!

Great ratings for the food, I like it, only 2nd time in my life I’ve eaten at a Popeye’s. However, on Tuesdays, their«special» day(99 cents fr 2 pieces), the line is quite long. I’ll try to visit on any day but Tuesday, unless I want that deal, but their food is reasonably priced, I wish one was near where I lived.

Two pieces of chicken for 99 cents every Tuesday! The two piece 99 cent deal is one popular deal! I came here on a Tuesday to get the deal and the line was out the door! The line to order moved pretty fast but the wait time for the fried chicken to actually come out was pretty long. We waited about 40 minutes to get our chicken. From the time we got there, to the time we left, there was a continuous line of folks! It’s not surprising though that many are willing to wait for the fried chicken. The chicken deal is a great deal. The chicken is yummy and crispy. It’s delicious when paired with the cajun rice from here too. The cajun rice has lots of ground beef mixed in it and is very flavorful! This location has the longest line I’ve been to for the two piece for 99 cents deal. I checked out another location and the line wasn’t as long. This seems to be a popular spot but other Popeye’s will offer the same deal but have a shorter line ;).

I love me some Popeye’s but shittttttt, what’s up with this one? Came here a few weeks back and 4 of the 8 soda fountains were out of order. No, Sprite, Pepsi, Root Beer or Orange. What the hell am I supposed to mix my cough syrup and Jolly Ranchers with at that point??? Someone must’ve beat me to it.

You would be lying to yourself if you said KFC and CHURCH’s Chicken is your favorite spot. Yes, the fried chicken may seem more greasy, but if your eating FRIEDCHICKEN already(just think about that for a second) LOL who are you kidding? Like as if it wasn’t already bad to begin with the word FRIED. I love their Mash Potato & Gravy SooooOOo gOooooD! AND you can’t go wrong with 2 for $ 1 on Tuesday.

If you live in Southern Cali, chances are that you have seen a Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuit before… so without delay this will be a quick and informative review on one of my favorite fried chicken joints!(This is a chain in most of the states I’m just referring to Cali because that’s where I’m at) When I was younger I totally loved KFC… I remember all the days when parents took my brother and I out to the beach with a bucket of KFC, however, as time went on, I started to enjoy the hot spicy tastes of New Orleans so has gotten much more attached to Popeye’s instead of the Colonel Sanders… So what’s here you ask?(I’m surprise you asked this question? Hasn’t the name said it all? Haven’t you given it a try???) Delicious fried chicken with lots of New Orleans spices. I always get the spicy because it simply tastes better! However, for those who dislike spicy food there are always the mild version for your enjoyment. Sides are always terrific as well! Love the Cajun rice along with the Cajun mash potatoes. Their gravy has bits of meat and veggies in it which is very different from the typical gravy you will find anywhere else. So the Mash is a Must!!! Aside from just chicken they also have some NOLA favorites(Crawfish poppers, shrimp poppers, crawfish étouffée, etc… love those poppers! Oh oh, don’t forget about Cajun fries! They are really tasty too! Aside from the main entrees of course they gotta have the biscuits! Unfortunately I don’t like them as much as I enjoys Church’s biscuits because it has more flavor, but nevertheless it is still better than biscuits at KFC… just ask for the honey sauce to go along with your chicken and biscuits. Finally, if you are still craving for desserts after this meal madness, they got several varieties of cakes and pies on the menu. I gotta try their sweet potato pie one of these days as that has been one of the only item on the menu that has been eluding me… Now here comes the best part! They always got awesome deals that won’t break your bank! Say… 10 pc for $ 7.99 from time to time, 12 pcs for $ 8.99, etc… but my highly recommended deal is typically the Two for $ 0.99 Tuesdays! You get a drumstick and a thigh for just $ 0.99!!! 2 orders of that will fill you up big time! Not sure how many pieces of fried chicken you can eat but definitely worth every penny! This deal may vary depending on locations but I’m sure there are deals for every Tuesdays or Wednesdays! Oh, be sure to ask for little Popeye’s chicken eatin plates! They can get stingy at times so do ask for them… they will actually count the exact amounts too! But these plates are awesome! So with that said, who doesn’t love em’ some fried chicken??? If you have not tried them, go out there and get some! It’s some tasty crunch and munch!

So Wednesday night I was STARVING and even after 2 ham & cheese sandwiches and some doritos, my tummy wanted more. Nice bf took me to grab something on the way home and I was like OOOHPOPEYES! Ordered the 2 pc bonafide combo w/mashed potatoes. I wish they’d have given me 2 drumsticks because I’m not a big fan of the other parts but w/e it was still better than KFC: D

This spot is right around the corner from my girls pad. I love fried chicken and rosco’s is too $ and far away. So this holds me over for a bit. Love the spicy chicken. The mac & cheese is inconsistant: somtimes good and other times watery. It is what it is. A crap shoot sometimes you get O.K. and sometimes you don’t. I will still eat here once in a while.

Q. What’s better than laying around at home on a weekend, drinking beer, eating chicken and watching movies? A. Not much. We had some coupons for Popeye’s and decided to make use of them. A quick five minute car ride and we placed out order for a six pack of chicken, a cheap chicken wrap thing and a small side of mac and cheese. When we get home we realized they didn’t give us our pair of biscuits, lame, but everything else was there; The wrap thing was pretty good for a $ 1.49. The mac and cheese was almost as mushy and crappy as it can get. And the chicken skin left me craving KFC. Oh well. But for a cheap quick meal it was okay. 3 stars, minus 1 star for forgetting our biscuits.
