This Popeye’s is located in a shopping center on a corner space, very convenient. Small seating area(one star off) and the bathrooms were not clean(one star off). The staff were fast and efficient, we got our food in less than 10 minutes from when we ordered it. Not bad, just ok.

The service here is horrible. I was standing at the register for 5 min before anyone came over and then when Joyce the cashier did come over she just stood there. No are you ready to order? Sorry for the wait. Nothing. Jus a blank stare, do you know how creepy that is? 15 min for a biscuit! I would understand it more if they weren’t sitting out already ready to be eaten but that wasn’t the case here

Of course great chicken, ample parking. Slightly shady area. My problem are the employees, they are always rude and definitely don’t care about their jobs. The place seems to be pretty clean.

This Popeyes is just like any other location: real good fried chicken and busy when it comes to the 2-piece chicken special. Located on Hawthorne Blvd off El Segundo Blvd in the shopping center next to the former Hawthorne Mall. Plenty of parking available. Ok but slow service but the way they handle their chicken is not the best. Also their 2 piece biscuits are $ 1.49 compared to the location close to me which I can get for $ 1.00. There was also a panhandler in front waiting for me to walk past him so he could sweat me for money. I respect the hustle but it’s not happening. At least the bathrooms are in tip top shape. There are other locations that outperform this one.

Horrible customer service and I’m going to let you fellow Unilocalers know what they are doing with the new $ 5 Big Box promo. If you so happen to want a Wing and Breast they are charging you $ 1.50 for the breast making the big box $ 6.50, major rip off. Several customers said oh no way as I did, so I went to the one on Rosecrans and Prairie no issue, they could not believe that they were doing that there. This is not the 1st time that the El Segundo and Hawthorne Bl location has tried to charge surcharges versus the other locations, I will no be back nor recommend you spend your hard earned money at this location!

Popeye’s gets four stars simply because I love fried chicken, and Popeye’s is the best of them all. There’s just something about the spices that Popeye’s puts in their fried chicken breading that puts KFC and all the other fast food fried chicken places to shame. I’m sure if Popeye’s sold their fried chicken breaded skin as a menu item, they would make bank. Unfortunately there’s no such thing as a skin-only chicken so that would be a waste of the rest of the chicken. Tip: Always go for the deal! Recently they’ve been having like an 11pc for $ 14.99 which is a steal.

These people have horrible customer service and are slow on the chicken. Last time I went a woman had a fit since they were talking forever on her order, the people working there were talking back very rude and of course she got more angry. Chicken was alright though

Quick lunch, cheap price, service was ok, just a middle of the road experience and a middle of the road meal. No complaints and when we need something fast and cheap we will be back. Always like the spicy tenders with red beans and rice

Normally the chicken here is pretty good, and I usually come tuesdays with my friends for the deal. Even though there is a deal, I will normally pick up the Tenders instead. Unfortunately, even though it didn’t seem that busy when I got there, it seemed like they were trying to rush out orders. While they make tons of chicken in advance for the deal on tuesday, I had to wait a little longer for my tenders. I don’t mind either, it’s not like I had gone up to complain about the wait, I figure tenders would always take a little longer. I get back to work and start to dig into my meal, I got like maybe two tenders that were on the thicker side, but sadly they were not cooked properly. I didn’t really realize it at first, but once I took a bite without the sauce, I noticed the chicken was undercooked. Needless to say, today I’m regretting it — I’m probably not going to eat meat for a while. Despite this, I’m still giving them two stars at least. The food is usually consistent when I’ve ordered it, and pretty delicious.

Love that chicken from Popeye’s! Every time we come here for lunch we leave a scent trail in the car, the elevator, and the hallways like free advertising. If you want the 2 pc Tuesday special, plan on getting there early. Otherwise you’re left waiting in a crazy line staring at the mountain of fried chicken… The special waffle-fried chicken tenders aren’t bad, and come with a creamy sweet sauce. The fries are cajun spiced, the onion rings also have a little kick to them, and the biscuits are more buttery and crisp than KFC’s. My standout favorite is that little deep fried blackberry cream cheese pie. Maybe a 10 min drive inland from Sepulveda, totally doable for a working lunch. A clean little respectable joint and a ray of sunshine compared to the saddest KFCEVER down the way…

Years ago, I tried to transition one of my senior cats from dry food to a raw and wet food diet. He hated the new meals so much that, over the months, you could visibly see his depression and decline! After a while, I took pity on the poor guy and treated him to a bit of freebie dry food we received in the mail. As soon as he ate those first few kibbles, he found his reason to get up and live again. True story, and although his other food stays, I won’t completely take the dry food away from him again. A similar scenario happened with us. For a couple of years, we dedicated ourselves to researching, shopping for and preparing mostly superfoods at home until S.O. began experiencing bouts of stomach unrest and hunger crises, and I actually started to feel some resentment from seeing others enjoy the un-superfoods I used to love. We grew up surviving on a wide variety of junk foods, so it’s unrealistic to expect to make an easy break from lifelong habits and tastes. One day we drove by a small Popeye’s store on Hawthorne. Popeye’s is a North American chicken chain headquartered in Louisiana, New Orleans, but we’ve managed somehow to avoid patronizing one since moving to the U.S. Until that fateful day… Just seeing a Popeye’s for the first time in years was all the go-ahead we needed to walk in, order, and dig into a Combo #4 — three battered and breaded whole wings(3⁄5), a floury biscuit(3⁄5) that packs more calories than a wing, and a medium serving of greasy chili fries(2⁄5) with more calories than a biscuit, plus an even greasier cinnamon apple turnover(3⁄5) on the side. All for under $ 10. As we shared and licked up every last bit of deep-fried fat badness, we found spicy and crunchy reasons to «live» again. Stupid story, but moderation really is key to a balanced lifestyle. Since our epiphany at Popeye’s, we’ve revised our all-or-nothing eating strategy and gradually re-incorporated casual restaurant and fast food favs like Popeye’s Chicken into our routines. Sure, maybe we can extend our years by steadily living cleanly and making healthier choices. But we might also do the same by occasionally living indulgently and making happier choices. So, what foods will you pick today?

Only doing a review b/c I checked in. No reason to do a review on a chain fast food restaurant. Nothing special or bad about this place compared to other Popeye’s. It is located in a big strip so it has ample parking.

It has a grade C posted on the window, thats all i have to say. Well no actually i got sick soon after consuming my heart disease-ridden food. I dont know if it was because i chose to eat food with a grade c seal on the door or from my own fear inside.

The line here is nuts when school gets out. If the chicken wasn’t made of crack I would have turned around. But, its made of crack so I’m here. They turn over pretty quick though. The smell wafts the entire plaza area. Freaking line and freaking crack. help me jeebus.

It’s Popeye’s chicken, what’s there to complaint? But service sucks. 15 – 20 min when there were only 2 customers ahead of me? This IS a FASTFOOD joint, right? Those who experience the same thing, do call the 1 – 800 number to let the Customer Service rep know about the slow service. Hopefully the Corporate people will do something.

I haven’t been to Popeye’s chicken in a very long time, but I decided to come here yesterday for an afternoon snack and was really disappointed. I didn’t have any problems with the food. Ended up going with the naked chicken meal. Comes with fries, biscuit and a drink.. The naked chicken was a tad peppery, but it was still good. The service here was terrible. Food took a little longer than usual when I was told it would only be a few minutes. I was the only person waiting for food and still had to wait 20 minutes for my order. The staff is terrible as well. I noticed that they gave a friendly greeting to some customers that came in & not others.(I thought in the fast food biz, you are suppose to treat everyone with equal service) I’ll definitely check out a Popeye’s again. But not this one.

I love that chicken at Popeye’s…in fact, I think I love everything that they have here! It could be because all of the food tastes exactly the same since they deep fry everything in batter. Regardless, I love it! Whether it is the chicken, shrimp, or their new onion rings, they all have the exact same flavor and they all taste good. I do have one major issue with Popeye’s that keeps me from eating here as much as I would like; their portions are WAY too small. There are only a couple of the combos that actually fill me up. I always end up ordering a combo with an additional side item because the size of their combos usually leave me unfulfilled. For example, their new onion rings are $ 1.99 for six. Some are small(about the size of a half dollar) and some are larger. I felt completely ripped off after I received my order of onion rings that I had ordered in addition to my meal. I was still hungry after having both my chicken nugget combo and an extra side of onion rings. Besides the food, the people at this particular Popeye’s are friendly, and it is a nice, clean place.

Popeye’s is good. For me it’s in third place behind KFC and Church’s. This location is in a small strip mall sharing the parking lot with a bigger strip mall that includes an Albertson’s. It’s not really that easy to see from the street. It’s on the small side with limited seating. It’s another one of my Ghetto-Lite locations, but this area is fine.
