Having been here once before and not being a fan, I wasn’t excited about my husband’s suggestion to breakfast here. I was saved when we walked up to find a Closed, permanently sign — For Lease. Off to Castro Valley for a proper breakfast.

I love it here. It took a bit of getting use to at first but it’s your neighborhood cheers bar that really represents the authenticity of Hayward. Monica the bartender is so nice and patient. How does she do it?

I have eaten here before and thought the breakfast was ok. So one morning I called in French toast and home fried potatoes to go. To keep this review short and straight to the point I would give this place negative two stars if I could. I actually got FOODPOISONING from the breakfast and will NEVER return there again!!!

The inside is so cute! Don’t make the mistake of passing by. Everyone needs that solid go-to breakfast spot in town. Tasty French toast and the grill breakfast was pretty good. Glad to have dropped in(:

It’s hard to get excited over a simple breakfast but they sure got it right. Perfectly cooked omelette., flavorful breakfast potatoes and great service. Prices are right.

Dont let the Bar crowd or the old school look/feel fool you, this is great breakfast at a great price! The pancake special which is 2 pancakes, 2 bacon or sausage, and 2 eggs for $ 3.99!!! and the pancakes are fluffy, eggs cooked perfect, and the bacon nice and crispy! i found this place while waiting to get a haircut one morning and have come back 2x a week ever since, i go at lunch hour too because breakfast is served til 1pm. Now usually theres only 1 server, and a bar literally next door that they have a shared door to, but besides that… its perfect!

I was overwhelmingly disappointed. After waiting a lot longer than I wanted to for karaōke to start, my boyfriend and I were both skipped over because there was a birthday party going on even though the guest of honor already sang. Totally uncool.

DONOTGOHERE!!! I went today for breakfast and the waiter made a racist comment !!! «Ugh I hate those young black people they are so rude». — I sat in absolute shock for a minute and thought Ok so WTF? why tell me your dumb! I was starving and had no time so I ate hurriedly ate anyway. I wrote a note on the receipt that I had him bring me right away and wrote on the back. «I HATENOTTIPPING! My husband is a waiter but your comment about black people was unsettling. She may have been rude but it had nothing to do with her being black!!! You will not have my future business.» I SHOULDHAVEDONEMOREMYSELF. BUTDON’T GO!!!

The bar is nice and the bartenders are very nice. Prices are fair BUT if you go in there for the karaōke plan on waiting… and waiting… and waiting… The karaōke lady skips people she doesn’t know. Way to bring in new customers! She didn’t just do it a few times but ALOT. My group of 12 friends all left. And this was on Valentine’s Day! Ended up going to another bar… very disappointed.

Friday night Karaōke at the Bar! I always have a blast, decent place, decent prices(unlike Bijou) and its right down the street from the movie theatre!

I’ve been here twice for karaōke, and both times has left me a fan. The regulars here are so encouraging! When my friend and I sang here(we did the«Picture» duet by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow), we were super applauded even though we were totally crappy. Plus, some nice old cowboy gentleman gave us each a «lucky» gold dollar and told us to never give up. Though I’m still not sure to this day if I was being insulted or not. He seemed very friendly. The drinks are decent. I had something electric green/blue off of their custom menu(I want to say it was called the June Bug or something else), and their pricing isn’t horrible. Plus, if you’re hungry, just pop over next door to the grill! I liked the atmosphere here. Very divey, but still has a distinct«hometown» feel to it. Just don’t be an asshole, and the locals will welcome you fairly warmly.

Driving by today, my Wife and I wanted to have a Sunday Breakfast date. Denny’s? NO! Carrow’s? NO… Sherry’s? NO… We wanted Mom & Pop Family types meals. We saw a sign, «BREAKFAST». We know the B-Street area well and know this HAS to be a Family Diner. I have been married into a Portuguese Family for 27 years. The moment I waked in… I KNEW! Didn’t say anything to my wife. We sat and looked at the menu… LINGUICA! She asked the waitress, «Is this cooked in wine?» The waitress verified, «Yes it is.» She knew. After we ordered my wife asked questions to the Waitress(who by the way was very professional and friendly), when the food arrived, the Chef followed…“Why did you ask if it was cooked in wine?” My Wife replied, «I’m Portuguese!» THEFAMILYSTYLERESTAURANTENVIRONMENTISBACK!!! The food was impeccable, FRESHPOTATOES, FRESHSPICES, FRESHEVERYTHING! The Chef, «Louie»…comes out and engages in conversation with customers. If you’re a foodie, this is heaven! I ANTHONYMARHXSTRONGLYRECOMMENDTHISRESTAURANT! This is now my regular food stop in Hayward. See you guys there!

went there for lunch, we were the only ones in there besides in the bar. The waiter was the also the chef and although he was very friendly the food was simply ok. I don’t think I would go out of my way to go there again.

This is, hands down, my favorite bar in Hayward! I make a point of introducing friends to this place at every opportunity. It’s small, it’s friendly, and the security team makes sure that anyone wanting to start trouble doesn’t have the opportunity to finish it. Lauren is quite probably the best bartender I’ve ever met, and Merelan(their newest) is sweet and super on top of things. This is not the place to go if you’re looking to dress up and act aloof. This is the place to go if you want to sing your face off with people who will clap no matter how you sound and get served by bartenders who remember you and your drinks. Friday and Saturday nights they have karaōke and it is always a blast.

If you’re looking for a low-key, casual spot to sip a drink and laugh with friends, this is the place! They have karaōke on Friday and Saturday nights and the crowd there always cheers and claps, no matter how tone-deaf you happen to be. Bartender Lauren and the security crew that works there are all so polite and keep the riff-raff out. Drinks are strong and tasty and you can tell the ‘tender if you want any changes or substitutions in your drink with no problems. The best nights seem to be Friday and Saturday. Sometimes a group of young people will come in and get a little loud, but it’s all in good, drunken fun. A hidden gem on B Street in Hayward, for sure. Just keep in mind that you are in Hayward and that area around Lucky can be not so good.

Karaōke last night was a blast. Every patron was really into it and crowd participation spread like wildfire. It was my friend’s 21st birthday and the owner showed her a great time with light embarrassment and a free shot. Well poured drinks, sold beer, and interesting people. What every bar should aspire to be. Why only three stars? Some seedy people occasionally.
