Horrible! Overpriced, food wasn’t good at all! Soup is watery from few days ago. Service is nothing special ! People find something better, save your money !

Come for the steaks(and everything else) stay for the atmosphere. Can’t say enough about the entire staff and fellow diners. Cowboy ribeye is as good as I’ve had from here to California. Fresh and homemade is on the menu here.

I had dinner here last weekend for the first time & the food was amazing! The place itself wasn’t huge, but had a really cozy feel to it. I’ve been to quite a few steakhouses in my day & I was surprised at how knowledgable the staff there was. I had Chris as my server and asked him a random question about how long they age their rib eye and he answered me without hesitation. He was super friendly, attentive, and everything about his service was on point! Not to mention, the entrees we ordered were so yummy. I can’t wait to go back and try their other menu items. I would definitely recommend coming here for dinner!

Hard place to review. They have $$$ steaks on the menu with a mediocre wine list. Then they have burgers and fries for the Bud Light loving crowd. They seem to want to project an upscale ambience but the clientele isn’t biting with more customers dressed in t-shirts and sneakers than dressy casual. The bar is small and we couldn’t get a seat(we like eating at the bar instead of sitting at a table). But they do have a few high tops and a bunch of tv’s for a sports bar feel. We shared a steak(which was good) and a bottle of wine with some raw bar apps and checked out at $ 200. For that kind of money, I expect a place that is unambiguously upscale, not all things to all people.

I finally had the chance to go to Neil Michael’s Steakhouse after passing it by countless times at its former location in Atlantic Highlands and at it’s new one in Hazlet. Friday night is prime rib night and I figured it was time to check it out. I made a reservation for three for 7:00 and was greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us immediately. The ambiance was very nice, lots of dark wood and low mood lighting. Great for a steakhouse. CBSFM was on in the bar and it carried over nicely into the dining room. It’s always nice to hear classic rock and roll while having a beer before dinner and going over the menu. My brother, fiancé’ and I ordered three different appetizers to share. I got the bacon wrapped scallops with bachemel sauce. The scallops were rich and buttery and the bacon only accentuated the flavor of the scallop, not the other way around which was immensely pleasing. There was just the right amount of sauce and it was quite good. Big bro got the spicy calamari which was the highlight of the first course. it was fried to a golden brown and then tossed in a white wine reduction with cherry peppers. It was spicy, sure, but the calamari is so tender and tasty you don’t mind the heat one bit. The sour/buttery flavor of the wine sauce was a real compliment to the dish. Fiancé’ got the firecracker shrimp, which was also quite good. Not as spicy as the squid, lightly fried and very tender. I was too busy helping my brother polish off the calamari to have more than one, though. So the prime rib special is 22.00 and it includes soup and salad. We had potato-leek soup, which was creamy and rich but could have used just a bit more salt. other than that it was very, very good. Salad was standard house salad fare. Lettuce was crisp and the cucumbers were thinly sliced, which is good because they can overpower the taste of the salad. So on to the prime rib. I was expecting a tiny piece of meat with a side of limp vegetables. Surely after such impressive courses the other shoe(or spoon) would have to drop, right? Not so! The prime rib was as thick as a paperback book and cooked to our desired done-ness(medium and medium-rare). It was served with mixed vegetables and fried onions. The meat was so tender you barely needed to cut it. It was perfection. For a 22 dollar steak dinner, you can’t do any better. We also got twice baked potatoes but found them too big to finish. A rarity with our group. They were very good, too. creamy and cheesy and very filling. They have a nice beer selection. Any place that serves Fat Tire Amber Ale is a winner in my book and this place has it on tap. It complimented the meal nicely. Our server, Anthony, was a gracious and attentive host throughout our stay Making sure we had everything we needed and keeping the drinks coming. He was courteous, knowledgeable about the menu, and prompt. He had no problem splitting our bill three ways. His professionalism cinched the four star rating of Neil Michael’s for me. If you are on the fence about this place, stop by on a Friday for the prime rib. It was worth it and you wont be disappointed.

Pleasantly surprised! This is the location of the former Shore Café. It has been nicely redone inside. Food and service were great. Seating is pretty limited so call for reservations. The parking lot is very small. We needed to wait for someone else to come out so we could park.

First time to dine in their new Hazlet location. There is 3 dinning areas, a bar, Tv’s and a private parking lot. We made a reservation and were seated right away. Started off with my favorite a dirty Tito’s martini(if you like only vodka and dirty make sure you say no vermouth). Appetizer were scallops wrapped in bacon, with crispy bacon. My husband had the 16oz NY strip steak, which was perfectly made. I have also heard their pork chops are equally as good as their steaks. I had the grilled salmon and a baked potato side. All meals come with a salad and vegetables. Tonight the vegetables were roasted. You can upgrade your salad to Caesar for a $ 3 charge. I always like options. Our waiter was very nice. If you have a food allergy of any kind be clear to your waiter and talk to the manager.

Had dinner with my wife and adult son. When paying Manhattan steak house prices, I expect at least Manhattan quality. Service by Margaret was very good. We thought the sausage stuffed mushrooms were excellent. The lobster bisque and French onion soup were OK. Both my wife and son found the basil balsamic salad dressing to be excellent. I found the honey mustard to be OK. Each of us had ribeye. My wife had bone-in medium which she found good except that she didn’t like the char. She did not specify, so… so it goes. My bone-in was ordered medium rare but was served rare. No biggie. Better under cooked than over done. Excellent flavor but too much gristle. Son found his boneless ribeye to be just OK. Only 2 desserts ordered, the crème brûlée for her and profiteroles for me. The crème brûlée was both excellent and the largest we have ever experienced. The profiteroles were OK, but presented more like 2 small ice cream sandwiches than what I have been served previously. Only real complaint here is that the chocolate sauce tasted too much like Fox’s U-bet. We’ll try again since the ribeye flavor was so good, and I want to try the chocolate explosion dessert.

The food is really good, I really like that when you order a steak medium it is served medium. The vegetables were crisp and my Caesar’s salad very tasty. Didn’t have dessert this trip. I would recommend a visit to their new location… it is very comfortable and the staff also deserves a 5 star rating! I was going to post a picture this trip. but when my meal came(the filet with lobster) it looked so good I started eating …

Definitely one of the best parts of my holiday this year. My sister and I came in simply to get a gift certificate, but the energy and ambiance were so amazing that we couldn’t help but kick it at the bar a for a little while. Unlike many other restaurants where a glass of wine is basically the size of a champagne toast, my sister got a good laugh at finally finding a place that isn’t afraid to give you a «real glass» at a nevertheless fantastic price. Everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked more and more amazing by the dish. The only thing upsetting about my sweet potato fries were when they were over :(they were absolutely AMAZING. and just like there was no shortage of delicious, VERY high quality food and drinks, the same went for the service. We could not find one employee without a smile on his/her face. But most incredibly, we were blown away by the owner, Patty. We watched who we assumed to be a very hard working server take care of countless tables and customers in the most personable fashion ever. When we got to talking and found out she was an owner, we were at a loss for words. It’s rare, if ever, that you find someone in management that puts 110% effort into making sure the food, experience, and comfort of EACH customer, especially at a busy time, are all addressed and nothing short of spectacular. Though we totally got yelled at by family for being late do to our unforeseen stop at Neil Michael’s, it was worth every second. The versatility of the steakhouse and its staff make it a perfect spot for Sunday football, casual lunch, an awesome dinner, or even a quick drink. To say I was impressed and satisfied by Patty and her staff and restaurant is an understatement, and I cannot WAIT to go back!

Had a very good dinner prime strip and filet were excellent as were the oysters. But the salad course with dressing in a paper cup should be eliminated doesn’t add anything to the dinner desserts were good also would like to try the prime rib next time

Food sucked. Service sucked. Definitely will not return. The food was cold and not good. Server had an attitude and was less then present even with the place being slow. However, they did accommodate by taking one of entrees off the bill. The birthday dinner celebration was a fail. We didn’t even order dessert.

The food here is consistently very good. Clams casino is a winner and the salads are very fresh. Additionally, the steaks are always cooked to temperature. If I were to point out a negative I would say there is an issue with seating sometimes. The last time we went there they attempted to seat us in the private room right in the middle of a ongoing private party. Very Strange. Naturally we refused that table, but just the fact they attempted it was really inappropriate. I would say definitely go, the food is good. Just pay attention to where they are seating you, you may end up sitting next to the fryolator…
