I am a very picky Italian whose parents owned a wonderful restaurant in the area. To put it mildly, I’m not easy to please. I’m not a fan of spices like oregano, basil, Rosemary, etc. my father who was the chef at his restaurant didn’t believe in a lot of spices. Having been born in Italy, and studied cooking in France, he felt not everyone liked spices. With the above said, I feel Brother Bruno COUKD very well be One of THEBEST Italian restaurants in our area. We usually take out, and have never been disappointed. I would suggest the chicken or shrimp Francese. Delicious, and comes with a side of pasta and a lovely salad. The portions are generous, to say the least. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Every time I come from New York City to visit my family in Hazleton, I always reserve a table at Brother Bruno for an outstanding Italian culinary experience. The appetizers and entrees are consistently very tasty and the portions extraordinaryly large, allowing for plenty to take home. For starters I’d recommend the antipasto, but beware that the large may leave no room for the wonderful entrees. There, I would recommend the veal parmesan, pasta putenesca or pasta with white clam sauce. The New Zealand mussels with marinara sauce and the pepper and sausage hoagie with spicy marinara are well worth the trip. The Grandma’s pizza is excellent and you should take a few pieces home. I always stop at the State Store for some nice full bodied red wine to complement this extraordinary culinary experience. The service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I’ll be back. Don’t miss Brother Bruno.
