A great stop for a sandwich & beer. Sit on the porch and watch the world go by! Very good sandwiches & salads. Cold beer in store, and draft beer at the Bar. A «must stop» whenever you are in Dry Creek !!!

One of my favorite spots for a summer afternoon drink, the views over Dry Creek Valley are amazing as the sun is setting… At the bar expect to find everyone from the local rancher who has farmed the valley for generations to the hipster tourist up from SF for a weekend.

March 29, 2016 Tuesday — 10:30AM to order lunch 4 adults Atmosphere — 5 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — The couple that we are touring the wineries with have been here before. The goal is to get the Stacker and let it sit for a couple ours. Let those juices soak into the bread. Atmosphere — This a store with a deli counter. You can get your up scale touristy stuff but we want the deli counter. Food Drink — I love beer and they have some great bombers. I had the Pliny the Elder. Heaven! The beers weren’t hiding they were in full display in the beer case not like some places I have gone to get it before. Dinner — Two hours later we are eating our Stacker during our private wine tasting even. This sandwich a beast. A subway sub wishes he could be this sandwich. That bread is crunch and did soften up a little from the juices. This is a sandwich he have just dig in and enjoy. Just look at my pictures. Service — The place is dead at 10:30 on a weekday, which makes looking at things while they make your sandwich actually enjoyable. The ladies that helped us were cheery and helpful. Future — Yes please.

So thank god my brother recommended this place! We stopped in after a good afternoon of tastings and we had worked up quite the appetite. This place is filled with character, amazing food and smiling faces! The store has a very unique old feel to it and I certainly enjoyed that very much. Food and sandwich selections are plenty and honestly I left wanting to go back for more of the delicious sandwiches. Plenty of food options, nice seating on benches that face vineyards and the sun set right across the street. There is also a bar attached on the side, looks like a really cool local hang out bar. All in all the store is great, the selection is plentiful, the food and sandwiches are freshly made and absolutely outrageous! They had some home made potato chips in a bag by the register and those were even out of this world. Can’t wait to visit Napa again so we can make our way up the Dry Creek store! Thanks for the hospitality and great lunch!

The sandwiches are good, not GREAT. You go here because of the location so close to all the wineries. If you have time go to downtown Healdsburg a lot of great restaurants there.

Sucked. If someone asks you to TOAST your nasty tasting gluten free bread for a BLT and to put the avocado on the side, do so. A complete waste of $ 12. Why did it take 15 minutes to make this? Unfortunately, I didn’t know the screw up until 2 hours later when it was time to have lunch. The sandwich was soggy and disintegrated. Save your money and avoid this deli that appears to be the only deli for miles and miles.

Love the vibe and selection. It is a MUST stop if you are wine tasting in Sonoma County along with all the Dry Creek wineries

Whether you’re taking a pit stop while wine tasting through Dry Creek, catching a sunset after a hard day of harvest, or any other plausible reason you can think of, the General Store is the place to go. The best way I can describe the general store is that Its a grown up and sonoma-fied version of a Cracker Barrel. The general serves soups, salads, and all types of sandwiches and antipasti that can make just about any stomach happy.(Totally build your own sandwich for 6 bucks, they’re the same size as the menu sandwiches and run for three or four bucks cheaper) The store also sells little gifts and wine from the local wineries. However, what makes this place awesome is that they have a pretty food selection of rotating beers. On a warm sunny day, there’s nothing better for me than a nice pilsner, and they always seem to have trumer or scrimshaw on tap :) Awesome place to visit, avoid the crowds and come during off hours! On the weekends, that means never

This place is a hidden gem and a true find! The deli counter here is the best I have ever encountered, everything tastes gourmet. I have sampled a few of their sandwiches(Reuben, Chicken pesto, Veggie, Salami… etc) and they are all incredible! I cannot get through this area of CA without stopping by for a delicious sandwich. They also have a wide variety of side dishes, cheese, drinks and little trinkets. The bar next door serves really ice cold refreshing beers as well. I love the ambiance of this place because it has been around since 1880. The floor boards creek, the counters are chipped and the whole place makes you feel like you stepped back in time. Can’t wait for my next trip by :)

Such a cute store! Definitely exceeded expectations. A little over priced(had a great time looking at all the knick knacks but don’t think I could actually buy anything) but if was fun to look around nonetheless! We got sandwiches to take for a picnic at a winery and even though the line was long and the store was very crowded, the staff moved pretty quickly and were accommodating. All the food was good. Would definitely recommend stopping by before heading to wine taste!

I work here in the area and it is extremely hard to find a place to grab a quick bite during my lunch hour since the next closest place in downtown Healdsburg. The food here is pretty good but extremely overpriced… But more power to them because they can pretty much make the prices whatever they want and still have a good turnout of customers due to it’s location as well as the heavy draw of tourists. If I were from out of town and doing some wine tasting and did not want to go out of my way for a quick bite then this place is for you. They also have a bunch of really cute knick-knacks that always tempt me when I go. But If you are a local and looking for a good sandwich and have a bit of time… there are much better options available. Also good to note that the service here is hit or miss… probably because the workers there have to deal with a wide range of customers on a daily basis and I am pretty sure the attitudes of some of their customers can be a bit taxing on the soul.

Context: stopped on a bike ride for lunch on a Monday Atmosphere: country store with a big crowd. Lots of communal picnic tables and old fashioned chairs and outdoor seating. Very little inside. Sandwiches are the big draw though there are breakfast choices and some ready made salads. A few cookies are for sale, chips and beverages ranging from Pepsi to coffee to specialty sodas. We ordered a pastrami Reuben on wheat bread, heated, a Rice Krispie treat and a chocolate chip oatmeal walnut cookie. Everything was good. The Rueben was covered with dressing and coleslaw and lots of met, Ed cheese. One sandwich was big enough for us both. Rice krsie treat was fresh and original recipe. Chocolate chip cookie is chewy and chock full of stuff.

Dry Creek General Store is perhaps the best place to stop by for a quick lunch, snack, or picnic goods if you are wine tasting in the area. They have a good selection of tasty sandwiches, prepared salads, cheese, bread, alcohol, and other beverages. There are also interesting books and home décor items to peruse. Lines are daunting during the weekend lunch hour, and prices run high. For example, kale and quinoa salad cost $ 15-$ 20/lb, which is about $ 4-$ 6 for a small plastic tub that isn’t even packed tightly.

My coworkers were telling me about this place so we decided to check it out. This was pretty much all by itself where cellphone reception was scarce. If you care about checking in on Unilocal then you’ll need to check in before you reach this place. I had Verizon and had no reception and same with my Sprint work cellphone. The parking lot was small and filled up quick. We had to park across the street on the road in front of the Dry Creek General Store. There were picnic tables outside where we later sat to eat the food from the deli. Inside was a little cozy with the deli on the right side of the building when you entered. There were a lot of people waiting to order at the deli that they told everybody to wrap the line away from the entrance, because that was causing people not going to the deli to just stand at the entrance. There were a lot of things on the menu like a Panini section and Hot Sandwiches section. There were other things on the menu but I can’t remember them. The small board near the counter had the daily specials and the day we were here(Wednesday) had the Tri Tip sandwich(that wasn’t the exact name but close enough) which sounded good to me. Instead, I ordered the French Dip($ 9.95) and they gave me the receipt stub to pay at the register in the front of the store. I walked around to buy a drink and they had everything a grocery store would have in terms of beverages ranging from water to soda to beer. I paid for my drink and sandwich then waited a while before my French Dip was ready. The au jus container was pretty hot and my fingers were burning as I took it outside to the picnic table. The French Dip was delicious, but I couldn’t dip the sandwich in au jus until I had a bite or two for it to fit in the container. If I was in the area, then I would be back to try other food from their deli.

Only in the middle of wine country on Dry Creek Road can you stop mid-wine tasting, pick up a deli sandwich and more beer or wine before continuing on through your wine travels. This store is a necessary evil in Dry Creek. If you want to be a champion taster the best way to hang for the day is to fuel your body and this store has it all; water, beer, wine, snacks, cheese, charcuterie, deli case salads, chips, candy, cookies, crackers, etc. It really is ingenious, its just a shame you pay a pretty penny for such genius. I often run on Lambert Bridge Road which is adjacent to the store and a HUGE bonus is the store is open early in the morning for fishermen heading out to Lake Sonoma, which in turn also means the connected bar and bathrooms are open to the public. It’s a nice option if you need the quick pit stop, you don’t have to buy anything, but then when you are ready coffee is available along with breakfast goods. I’ve never actually been to the bar when it is open, but I love the idea of the rustic country charm in the store and this great dive bar attached to the fancy little market. Quite the contradiction but they also work so well together. As I said earlier, a necessary evil. A star is knocked off only due to the outrageous price tags, otherwise a great gem in the middle of wine country. They know they have a captive audience. :)

This is a delicious semi-hidden gem. It’s on the side of the road as you drive through wine country, so it is kinda hard to miss, but I hadn’t heard about it before. Definitely the perfect place to grab something to eat in the middle of a long day of wine tasting. The sandwiches are on the pricier side, and even though we didn’t have to wait in a crazy long time, the place got PACKED right after we got our food. I had an Italian sandwich that had some salty(in a good way) meat and fresh veggies – planned on saving half for later but that did NOT happen. It’s even a nice place to do some tasting yourself since it has a wide selection of beers to enjoy with your lunch. I was there in January, and sitting in the sun outside was extremely pleasant – very limited indoor dining options anyways, but there are some under a covered roof.

I truly liked my True Italian sandwich. Its price(~ $ 9.95) was a little high by city standards but is arguably justified by the distance between the Store and its gourmet sources. When you’re visiting the area for more than a few hours, you’ll probably want to stop by for cheeses, snacks, tchotchkes, wines and other necessities. If you can check in here on Unilocal, you’re probably an AT&T customer. My phone got no signal. There’s a dcgs WiFi network here, but I saw no indication that it’s available to customers. The people who work here are *very nice*. Parking on premises is challenging, but you can leave your vehicle on the road away from the DCGS.
