Wild Sage has closed. I will really miss this place. The sandwiches were out of this world good. Story is that Big John’s owns the location and no longer wants the competition for their newly expanded deli and prepared food operation. Hope that’s not true. This summer Big John’s will really get competition when Oliver’s opens in Windsor. RIP Wild Sage OR, please find another location and re-open!

big fan. the ny style tuna sandwich is amazing. nothing like tuna salad, which i dislike. tuna in oil preserve, with thin slices of lemon and red onion. it’s delicious. my husband is a big fan of the carrot empanadas. we get lunch here regularly. do yourself a favor and stop here instead of dry creek general store. you’ll save yourself the crazy crowds.

For sandwiches in Healdsburg, I go straight here first. Unfortunately I can’t give a great review of any other sandwiches since I only order the Politico which is their version of a cuban sandwich. I order it so much they know me by my order before I can say Hello. Politico extra messy!!! I love their aioli that comes with their sandwich that I ask for more! When I extra hungry I order soup and their empanadas and you can’t go wrong with those either. Service is great for a deli. If you’re heading north or South on 101 it’s just off the freeway. If you need something great to eat stop by.

Fabulous sandwiches, I had the hot pastrami and spouse had the lamb sandwich on a hard roll, very filling. The staff are so friendly and helpful. A nice relaxed unpretentious deli in the wine country, what’s not to love.

I love to see people have passion and love what they do. This stop on our way from Oregon to Southern California was great! The menu is amazing and the friendliness is off the charts. I witnessed the team working there acknowledge regulars by name and tease about everything from being best dressed to who was paying that day. Our sandwiches were great. Made on crusty rolls. I had the beef and clue, Which was too large for me to finish. The sweet slice of fresh tomato cut through the creamy blue cheese. My husband had the BBQ lamb sandwich with chimichirri which was unique and equally delicious. Please stop by and enjoy the hospitality. The food is great and they make you feel like a local!

I just love this charming, quaint deli. I wanted a delicious looking sandwich but knew it would be too much food for me. So I opted for the daily soup special — curried carrot with coconut lime. It was perfectly seasoned and very fulfilling. I also had a saltena empanada, also very tasty — a little dough pillow filled with seasoned meat, onions and spices. It reminded me of my time in Douth America. I also indulged in a glass of red wine, which was also perfect. They carry Hook and Ladder, one of my favorite boutique wines. Nice job!

Blew away already high expectations. One sandwich better than the other and the empanadas are to die for. Politico 10 stars Irish Bookie 9 stars Ruben 9 stars Singapore Lamb Empanadas 8 stars. Just freaking awesome. Also, fast and great service. And inexpensive. And amazing ambience. Perfect.

The Wild Sage offers excellent sandwiches and really nice people who go out of their way to help their customers. This is the first deli that had really made it happen at this very convenient location. The menu is creative and large, but they also list the choices everyone expects. The large variety of canned, bottled, and plastic beverages are cold; they also have a self serve soda machine. It’s an all around great lunch and breakfast spot.

This place is in a slightly unusual location on the north side of town, so it’s probably getting less business and attention than it deserves. Parking is ample. The place is much larger than it looks from the main road(Dry Creek). The primary menu items seem to be sandwiches, empanadas, coffee, and wine. The sandwiches are all numbered like in a New York deli, and I guess you’re not really encouraged to deviate too much(I elaborate on that below.) But they are substantial and delicious, and they do not skimp on the fresh ingredients. The last time I was there, I had #11, the vegetarian. I asked them to add cheese, olives, and jalapeños to the order and they did, generously. It was a pretty freaking amazing sandwich. Empanadas are also delicious, and they usually have a variety to choose from. Coffee bar looks good, though I don’t drink coffee so I can’t speak to its quality. I was a little disappointed to see that they don’t serve tea as well. Prices are very standard for the area. My vegetarian sandwich was $ 7 even. Service was good and I didn’t have to wait long, though the guy behind the counter(who seemed to be in charge– maybe the manager?) seemed a little put out when I made the special requests for my sandwich. Kind of made me feel like maybe I was being unreasonable for not just sticking to the menu. Hoping that was a miscommunication or case of oversensitivity on my part because it’s close to my house and I do like the food. I’ll be back.

Great, cute little place. They have delicious sandwiches and empanadas. The price is very reasonable and the ambiance is nice, especially in the back patio if weather permits. I would eat here again and recommend it to others. The hot pastrami was my favorite sandwich. The tuna ny Italian was good, though the tuna was slightly dry. Other than that, everything was delicious.

A solid little sammy in Healdsburg. Very simple eats. I was expecting more with all these five star reviews, not gonna lie, but for the prices, not bad. I opted for the chicken salad sandwich on wheat. A thin smear of tender, delicious chicken salad topped with lettuce, tomato and I added on sprouts. Perfect. Not a beast, but a nice lil’ lunch perfect for the winery picnic I was on all for about $ 7. Other highlights: that BLT. I wasn’t that big of a fan of the Italian veggie. It was mostly roll, light on the veggies. I am always a fan of the other way around on a sammy: more filling, less bread. You can pick up chips, cookies, pasta salad, empanadas on site and they serve up draft beer and wine. I’d suggest more of a pick up vs destination.

It’s a good sandwich shop. Fancier takes on well know sandwiches. You place your order and they bring the food to you(outside or inside) on real plates with silverware. I had the California Club and it was a decent sandwich. I wish I bought a better side dish, like potato salad. But, the staff was friendly and the ingredients were local and fresh. Had a small bowl of Italian vegetable soup, which was just okay, needed seasoning. Lunch for 4, indulging beers and chips, was around $ 60. Parking was limited and the building is located on a tough corner, but it is right off the freeway.

Good service. Place is big. Got to enjoy our sandwiches outside the patio. I got the sandwich with olives. I like olives but this one was a little salty. I wish they could’ve used olives that are less salty or maybe less olives.

How can I call myself a Healdsburger and somehow not have visited Wild Sage until late last year? I’m truly ashamed. Wild Sage makes AMAZING sandwiches. I am a huge fan of their BLTA, and I substitute the mayo for their infamous ginger fire aioli. So, so, so good. Not to mention their soups — they have at least two home made soups every day that change several times a week, and pretty much every single soup I’ve tried has been mind-blowingly delicious. I’m eating their split pea soup with ham, bacon and prosciutto right now and I wish I had another bowl of it. Their breakfast empanadas are also fantastic. The office staff at my work orders lunch to-go here at least a couple times a week. They are friendly people that make some really good food. GOHERE!

A delicatessen that matches the expectations of the name ‘delicatessen’. Had a great ruben with house-made corned beef. Went halvsies with my dad who had a lamb hoagie with chimichurri that he adored(‘if i was back in England and ordered a lamb sandwich’, he declares ‘this is what i would get’). Stole bites from my mom’s surprisingly refreshing vegetarian sprout filled sandwich. Bonus points for having a room that is seemingly built in honor of the massive drink cooler that dominates the space(I’ve never found bottles of root beer so intriguing).

In Healdsburg and want a good sandwich? Look no further. This place had been on my radar for sometime now, since my roommate who works down the street from this place told me that its pretty good. So I decided to give it a try. Their menu is a good size with quite a few options. I choose the turkey club with bacon, and avocado. It was a very delicious sandwich! They have a lot of drink options including sodas, juice, tea, mineral water, and micro brews. I like this place because its off the beaten path, the prices are good, and the atmosphere is nice. They have a huge covered patio, with lots of nice greenery. I would give this place a go again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good sandwich!

Walked here from the hotel at 6am to grab coffee and breakfast for us and the rest of the crew still knocked out from winery hopping. The older couple seemed a bit confused and maybe needed coffee but the young cook took over and seem to be on top of things once they left. There were quite a few locals popping in and out so they must be good. Their coffee was nice and strong and my friends said the chorizo and bacon empanadas were bomb especially with the garlic aioli which I had with my Italian veggie sando it was quite good.

Stopped by yesterday afternoon to pick up some sandwiches for the Windsor Concert that evening. Large assortment of sandwiches, some specials and a variety of empanadas. Both sanwiches were very good. The Cal Club had turkey, bacon, mayo, avocado, lettuce and tomato on whole wheat. Also had the Beef and Blue which had roast beef, bacon, mayo, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato on a hard roll. Shared both of them. We have had better sandwiches but having them watching the show with a couple glasses of rose on a beautiful evening was just about perfect :). Could not resist picking up an empanada, the beef one was packed with meat, potato and other ingredients. Came with a very spicy aioli. This was delicious and we will return to try the other varieties, chorizo, bacon etc.
