Just had a wonderful massage with JC on a Sunday morning, celebrating the completion of a milestone. JC is very personable, attentive to individual needs, and skilled in her profession. Her studio is cozy and tucked away on a quiet street just off the hustle bustle of downtown Healdsburg. Highly recommended.

I have been to two of the spas and two other masseuses here in Healdsburg. (I get regular massages all over the world) After disappointing massages elsewhere in Healdsburg, I found J.C. On Unilocal.She proved to be everything and more than the reviews said. She communicates with you as to what your body needs at each massage. (Takes notes!). She is one of those unique masseuses who doesn’t just massage in a routine way the way so many masseuses do, but is able to tell what areas are tight and need more work. She can do deep massages which I love, and doesn’t get offended when you ask for more or less. She has a cute little room behind the French bakery. She is a kind and generous spirit. Get an hour and a half!

I had a wonderful massage yesterday with JC Cardwell. She made sure to understand how much pressure I liked. She used light lotions and oils that weren’t greasy or heavy and smelled nice. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and some IT band tightness. I felt so much better afterwards. Her studio is very comfortable with warm covers and a lovely trickling water fountain. She’s been at this for 18 years so she knows what she’s doing! Would definitely return.

Jc is great for both relaxation or injury recovery massage. After knee replacement I have her working on my thigh and knee to reduce swelling. Much better this morning. Looking forward to being able to receive a full body treatment once I am healed.

JC always gives an excellent massage. She’s been my therapist for over 10 years. I simply stopped trying others because no one could top her deep tissue therapy.

We were staying in Healdsburg had an issue with my upper back, & in need of massage. The hotel had spa services, but from past experience the massages there are relaxing, but not therapeutic. So glad I found JC on Unilocal,she’s such a nice woman, caring,& professional. It was not your typical massage she paid attention to what my body needed, zeroed in on problem areas, used warm pads to relax the muscles, also had small fan on that kept me comfortable. I think it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had from my head to my toes, really helped my upper back, left feeling so relaxed! If I lived in Healdsburg I would go to her every month that’s for sure… so until next time…

I am updating my review because it has been a while, and I need to say that I still think JC is the best in town. I have tried a few other therapists in Healdsburg (when JC was out of town), but I always come back to JC!
In a nutshell, her massages will leave you not only feeling relaxed and pampered, but she’ll fix whatever was ailing you on the way in. I walk out of there in a blissful post-​massage haze!

My husband and I were in Healdsburg on vacation and saw J.C.‘s reviews and we decided to give her a try. Her studio is right off the main square, but once you’re in, it’s very serene and cozy. She uses heated pads to let the muscles relax and then the massage begins. She does a great job and is very reasonable. We got a 1.5 hr massage for the price of a 50 min massage at a spa and a better massage. J.C. really cares about her clients. When we’re back in Healdsburg, we’ll see J.C. again!

I must have seen half the masseuse’s in Sonoma County and beyond. I’ve had massages in Ritz Carltons, Four Seasons, Sonoma Mission Inn, Osmossis, and even in Istanbul, Turkey but J.C. is the bomb, hands down. She actually pays attention to one’s body. (What a concept!) If you live near or in Healdsburg get in there!

JC gives the the most wonderful massage. She is nurturing, loving and has an intuitive sense of exactly what areas of my body needs deeper or lighter work — without me having to point it out. I always feel completely renewed, energized, relaxed, cared for and nurtured after having been worked on by JC.
The experience includes hot stones to help relax the muscles initially, heated buck-​wheat pads, foot massage (1.5 hr massages), complete wipe down at the end, to avoid any oiliness from massage oils on your cloths — all of these extras makes you feel like a queen!
JC can do deep work, as well as nurturing, relaxing work. She is very professional, and very reasonable given all that is included in her sessions. I agree with other reviewer — if we could all go see JC on a regular basis the world would be a better place!

JC is special. She not only gives the most wonderful massage but she intuitively knows what your body needs. I’ve been going to her for years and I am never disappointed. If we were all lucky enough to get a massage by her on a regular basis, this world would be a better place!

JC is wonderful! She has given me wonderful treatments both pre and post natal. She’s got a great awareness of how deep to go and how to really work out the stiffness and soreness. She is completely professional, on time, and has a nice little no frills studio. She will also come onsite if you have more than a couple of people that want to get massage.

I was in Healdsburg last weekend to cycle and buy wine. I was really, really sore from riding a very long distance, totally unprepared. I called JC Cardwell after checking Unilocal reviews. She accommodated me on a Sunday morning. I get several massages/​month in the bay area from really good deep tissue massage therapists. JC was GREAT! She was strong, able to go as deep as I wanted, checked in with me to ask if the pressure was deep enough or too deep. She found the tight places and effectively worked them (it hurt so good if you know what i mean). In addition, she does all kinds of nice things like putting hot buckwheat bags on areas she’s not working on to warm up the muscles, and wipes you down so you don’t get your clothes all oily when you are finished. Lots of attention to detail to make it special.
If you are a local or in the Healdsburg area for a get-​away, I strongly suggest you include a massage with JC in your plans. I plan to do so every time I’m up there! It’s well worth it.
