Not a great experience! We didn’t even taste the wine because the customer service turned us off. My husband and I will not be returning to this place.

One of the best wine tastings I have been to. Everything was delicious and smooth. Brooke was very nice, informative and fun. Will be back again!

The wine and cheese is absolutely amazing. The customer service is by far the worst I’ve ever had. Every time I go in there even as a member– I am now canceling membership– the lady’s are terribly rude. Last time I went to pick up a club purchase that I had already paid for and the lady working didn’t know how to print a receipt. For an hour she held me and my friend captive refusing to hand me my already paid for wine while she complained and bitched about how she couldn’t print a receipt and it was soooo important she print it even though I said over and over I don’t want a receipt. Even other guests were staring at her while she ignored us all bitching about her computer. Oh and the best part is when I went to take a sip of wine she poured and she screeched at me «don’t taste it until I’m done explaining it!» Seriously?! Who does that?! I am a member at several wineries in Sonoma County and I’ve have never gotten such terrible service at any winery. I’m actually thinking this could be the worst customer service experience I’ve had its by far the worst wine tasting experience I have had.

What an amazing find! Was just walking down the street and they had a sign out that outlined their tastings($ 10/per person) and it came with a cheese pairing.(Did someone say cheese?) On top of that, if you purchase a bottle of wine the tasting fee is waived.(Score!) 90% of their wines are reds and they have some real standouts.(So much so I ended up joining their wine club — Club members get an additional 25% off of all wine.) The ones I fell in love with were: 1 — ’12 Zinfandel — Dry Creek Valley 2 — ’13 Cabernet Sauvignon — Oak Knoll — Only 86 cases made 3 — ’14 Pinot Noir — Russian River Valley Mary helped our group through each taste explaining where the wine came from and how they decided upon the cheese pairing. It was extremely relaxing and the wines all were good. Since they are such a small production you cannot find their wines at Total Wine or Bevmo.(So if you love anything you taste you better grab it while your here.)

Our last stop of the day for wine tasting ends in downtown Healdsburg. We got our reserved table in the front by the window and door which is great and not so great. As we were getting situated I noticed many awards for their wines displayed in a cabinet which made me feel more excited for the tastings. Our host was really pleasant and explained everything well. So the tasting began with a variety of cheeses to go with the amazing white and ended with many reds, Pinot that is. Apparently Sonoma has really great Pinot’s and today I have found another fav. After our delicious flights, we were lucky to be poured some dessert wines. 2 Ports and a Muscat. And all three was exceptionally balanced and the way it washed around my mouth, I could’ve had a couple glasses. During our excitement and indulgence of sugary grapes, we played some Cards Against Humanity and boy did it liven up the table or what. This place has great wines and staff that left us happy. The owner was even there to greet us and thanked us for stopping by.

Big groups get preferential treatment which is understandable. Kind of frustrating when the host presents wine to the large group, then tends to me with«you heard what I told them right?» Wine is delicious. Cheese pairing is delightful. Service is meh.

Always a delightful tasting — wonderful cult wines. Posy Rose, Pinot’s, Patrona, Sauvignon Blanc and Zins… Just to name a few of our favorites. Strongly suggest that you swing by for a tasting and purchase!

I adore being a member. It is just one of those places where there is no bad wine. Super friendly gals. Breadsticks are to die for, especially after your 3rd or 4th tasting. They have expanded to doing a cheese tasting that goes with it. If you become a member, one of my favorite parts of the membership is the magnum bottle you get in November. It is etched in glass and just gorgeous not to mention… Taaaaaaaasty! My loyalty is forever strong.

This is my favorite winery in the whole world! I love coming here with friends and having Ms. Mary pour for us. She’s always smiling and very welcoming. My favorites are their Patrona, Botrytis(chardonnay) and my new fave Portentous. I think I turned my friends to drinking dessert wine now :) ALL of their wines of course are very very good. You’ll love all of it whether you’re a white or red wine fan. Say hi to Ms. Mary when you go to Healdsburg!

What a surprise! Mary was a wizard at picking wines that I would like and then something a bit different for my husband. So our take-home was tailor-made for us both. Their winemaker is very talented. Everything is delicious. Stop in here for sure.

We came here for the«Wine & Food Affair 2015» event last weekend. This tasting room is located in Healdsburg near the square. The first thing that drew us in was the live music that was playing. They were great! They were really busy that day, but they handled the crowd well! We noticed that their wines won a lot of awards. I’m not a big Pinot Noir fan, but that seemed to be the star of the show. I really enjoyed their Petite Syrah though. I would come back again.

Kinda agree with all the previous raving reviews!!! I think our«pourer» was Debbie? She was wonderful … gracious, friendly, helpful and genuinely invested! We thoroughly enjoyed our tastings, and thank you soooo much for introducing us to truffle salt!!! Also, thank you for calling the hotel and getting us a reduced rate for our stay!!!

Our group has very different wine preferences(oaky chards to dry pinots) but we all agreed that the rose was amazing and when you put truffle salt on cheese it turns into magical happiness in your mouth. Very good stop and everyone enjoyed all of the things!

A wine created by a woman with a staff of friendly women pouring with wine that was made for women. These are distinct wines that are made with hints of chocolate, flower and citrus notes. Enough said? We are part of their wine club and although it would be nice to offer these to our guests, I have to say that they’ll just have to go themselves to try all of them. We just really like them. Their tasting room is in a good spot in Healdsburg too to pop in when you’re in town. We just went to their members only tasting to pick up our wines that are typically shipped to us and it was nice to pair them with their tasty bites they provided too. These wines are symbolic of the freedoms that wine makers have here in Sonoma where anything goes. Just love it!

Go here! This is a must! I had honestly never heard of Stephen & Walker before finding this tasting room on Unilocal. They had a check-in special for a free tasting and cheese sampler, which brought us in, and I’m sure glad it did, because the tasting was fantastic! The pourer was super friendly and knowledgable about all of the wines and the story behind the winery. Stephen & Walker has a female winemaker, which is apparently very rare for the industry. We started with a lovely Sauv Blanc, followed by a rose of pinot noir. The rose only comes in magnums, because«it’s a party wine» according to them! Next, we were served a little plate of four types of cheeses to pair with our next four wines, and we were given instructions on what to eat with each wine. All four were lovely, and paired perfectly with the cheeses. I especially enjoyed comparing the Russian River and Dry Creek Zinfandels. Same vintage, different vineyards. We ended up buying a bottle of the Russian River Zin because it was so unique. Great wines, friendly people, what more do you need?

We found this place by chance, after stopping into another tasting room in Healdsburg and asking if they make a zinfandel, and then being directed to Stephen & Walker. After trying their zins(they have two: Russian River and Dry Creek), we joined the wine club. The tasting room is mellow and the cheese plates are awesome. But back to the wine: their zinfandels are the best we’ve had. With the wine club discount they’re about $ 30 a bottle so we save them for special occasions. I think we have tried every«old vine zin» out there, or pretty nearly every one; nothing has been as good. So we happily stop into the tasting room at least each time a wine club shipment is ready, and otherwise anytime we are in the neighborhood. Mary has been there each time and she’s delightful.

Absolutely speechless, this place is phenomenal! Jordann in the tasting room was absolutely outstanding and I highly recommend you go and see her, she will show you the best of the best! Jordann deserves a massive raise, seriously! The wine is fantastic, and very well priced! I’ve never seen a Howell mountain cab so good, or at less than $ 100 per bottle! I highly recommend this place, you will love your visit and absolutely relish their beautiful wines! Go say hello, try some great wine, and join their very easy wine club! We joined and couldn’t be happier! Happy drinking!

Thanks again to Unilocal! While finishing up brunch at nearby Parish, Kevin P. and I began looking at nearby wineries and tasting rooms. We were headed out of town and had limited time, so we were hoping to find a place where we didn’t need to drive far. Just our luck, we found Stephen & Walker right next to our parking spot. I spotted a review by Abby S. Knowing how cool she is, and how highly she reviewed this place, we had to check it out! It was still early on a Saturday, just before noon, and most wineries were beginning to open. We walked in to find only one other couple finishing up at the bar with the lone hostess. The tasting room appeared to be new. Everything was tastefully decorated with plenty of spots to sit. Before we even walked in we were greeted and invited to sit at the bar. We were provided the greatest attention from our pourer. She provided just enough attention to make us feel welcome, but also let us have our space. The wine tasting included a small cheese platter which is just enough to heighten some of the wine’s flavors and aromas. Since they produce very small amounts of wines they were out of a few, including their cabernet. Their Zinfandel and Pinot Noir were quite tasty, and we ended up leaving with both. One of the most interesting aspects of this visit was the fact that our hostess/wine pourer was born in Bakersfield, Oildale to be exact! Small world! We reminisced about Trouts and the good old Bakersfield Sound. This is a great tasting room with wonderful personalized attention. It’s close to nearly everything in downtown Healdsburg, so it’s a win-win wine destination.

Unless you’re from the area, I suspect you might not know Stephen & Walker wines. But if you’re visiting wine country, make a point to visit this tasting room. The wines are really unique. I love the pinot noir and the petit verdot. A real hidden treasure in Healdsburg. I can almost guarantee you’ll take a few bottles with you.
