Just moved in the area and figured I’d give it a shot. Worst Chinese food I ever had, honestly

Not for me. In my opinion, the food tasted less-​than-​fresh, and there was an unpleasant after-​taste that grossed me out. Have been in dozens of Americanized «Hunan-​style» Chinese take-​outs, and I won’t go back to this one. Two stars because the service was friendly enough.

I’m not quite sure how this place get anything but one star. I’m not sure who else in here that gave it a four star review. I will tell you it is probably adequate as take-​out Chinese for anyone who does not know what good Chinese food taste like. This place is in a dying strip mall. I had wonton soup and shrimp and lobster sauce. The wontons were hard and I have no idea what kind of meat was inside. there was excessive use of pepper on the shrimp and lobster sauce to give this tasteless dish some flavor. No fortune cookie with the meal. This was my first time I’ve ever been to a Chinese restaurant where I wasn’t given a fortune cookie.

I typically order from this place, one time I decided to get take out. When I got there the place was pretty much a hole in the wall. After watching them prepare my food and leaving with it, I could not even eat it when I got home.
Everything looked like a huge blob of processed, not fresh, unhealthy food in their kitchen. There was no smell at all. Btw, you could see right in the kitchen. The chicken didn’t even look like chicken, it was pre fried, in a huge basin, and unidentifiable.
I stood there amazed and vowed never to return or order.

Go to Chinese Restaurant in town. Owner smiles when I walk in and the order is always right. Food wise, the food hits the spot. Standard Chinese take out food so not much variety. Food tastes good.

I’ve traved all over the country and hands down New Star is the best Chinese carry out or eat in place ! My favorite is their house special fried rice. I even ask for special order and it’s never a problem! Thanks New Star your the best! Cindy E.

Late night at work and craving Chinese food… I was feeling boring and ordered beef and broccoli. I also added an order of steamed dumplings. The beef and broccoli was pretty good, but I took one bite of the dumpling and had to spit it out. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten rotten meat before, but I’m pretty sure I did that night. Between the smell and the taste, I don’t think anyone would be able to stomach it. Absolutely horrifying. I don’t know if I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Small take out place but great food, always fresh and great flavors. The owners and help are very nice. For a strip mall take out joint, they are suprisingly excellent.

New Star is without a doubt above average carry out Chinese. They prepare most of the food from scratch. Most places open a bag and throw it in the wok. Not here, I recommend New Star highly if you enjoy Chinese food.
