Cagliero Ranch Nursery

I have lived near Cagliero’s for several years and although intrigued I had always avoided going in because I mistakenly assumed they would be expensive. Wrong! They have lovely plants and they are actually quite affordable. Each time I have gone there friendly staff members have gone out of their way to be helpful without overdoing it. One young lady even insisted on carrying my tray of plants out to my car. and she put plastic under it to protect my trunk. They also have a newsletter with tips about plants, and special sales.

Wonderful nursery! Wonderful staff! I found a beautiful rose for my grandma to plant at her home priced less than the nurseries I had been going to for my roses. I shopped local and it more than paid off! :)

Love this nursery! I had searched everywhere in Temecula, Murrieta, and Menifee for a particular plant (no one had it) –and these guys had several! Their prices were competitive, the entire nursery was clean and pretty, and all of the plants were healthy and well taken care of. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I will be back to support their business and highly recommend this nursery.

Unhelpful and disinterested at best. On my first and only visit to this place, I went in with a shopping list that included 20 flats of ice plant, 2 palm trees, and looking for some recommendations for additional low-​water landscape plants for my yard redesign project. It was a weekday, so there were no other customers in the place. Just me. When I pulled into the parking lot, there were 3 employee cars taking up all of the parking spaces directly in front of the store in the shade. I (as a potential paying customer) had to park on the backside of the lot in the full sun. Hmm, that should’ve been my first sign. Then I went into the building and told the gentleman behind the counter what I was looking for. He walked me outside the door, pointed in different directions of the yard, and told me where I could find various plants. Okay, I guess they were soooo busy they didnt have time to spend walking me over to the plants and talking to me. So then I asked the guy about the price per flat on the iceplant. He told me $ 12.99 per flat. I said I really would like to buy locally here because I live in Hemet and want to support local businesses, but the nursery in Moreno Valley charges $ 7 per flat, and is there any way they would be willing to work with me on price so I dont have to go to the other nursery. He said no, and if I can find plants that cheap I should go buy my stuff there. Then he walked away and left me standing there with my list in hand. Wow! I guess I’ll be buying my plants in Moreno Valley.

I took in a branch of unknown rose type vine that I picked from a neighbors plant. They knew what it was and showed me to the inventory stock they had on hand. They didn’t have the color I wanted but ordered it for me and I was able to pick them up the next week. Not one plant died so the plants must have been perfectly healthy and prepared for transplantation into the ground. They are growing like weeds in spite of August heat.
These guys are knowlegable, helpful and courteous — a fine example of old fashioned good business!

This nursery is a throwback to the good old days. It’s well-​stocked, the workers are friendly and knowledgeable, and the grounds are pretty. They have lots of walkways through their garden, decorated with old farm implements and antique yard art. Lots of giant shade trees and places to sit and admire the inventory or consider a purchase.
I’ve been going there for 5 years now, and it’s consistent. If I have a problem with my garden, I can take them a clipping and they’ll help me figure it out. Do yourself a favor and try Cagliero Ranch.

They’ve got a good selection of some hard to find plants. I was looking for Bhut Jolokia plants, for example and they had them. Good prices and fun to walk around with a very helpful staff.

They treated us well. They advised us on what types of plants would be good considering our needs. Their prices were good and they seemed to have a good selection. The plants looked like they were in good shape. Ours are still alive and well! I will stop here before going to Lowe’s next time.
