I drive between Syracuse and Albany a few times a year to see family, and I hate stopping for edibles on the Thruway. So I looked for someplace to eat in Herkimer and found the Pizza Truck. I called before hitting the road and he said they were at the New Hartford Shopping Center. Well, it was well worth the extra miles off the Thruway. My daughter and I got a Napoli pizza, the side salad and some focaccia. It was fast, fresh, and really delicious. Add a couple cans of seltzer and it came under $ 20. The guys in the truck could not have been any nicer. If you plan to check them out, call ahead to find out where the truck is — they move around the area. This will be a regular stop on our CNY trips!

I had the Margarita pizza and added onions and mushrooms. The ingredients were very fresh. I also had the antipasto skewer. I would say the pizza is 4 stars but skewer was 1 star. The pepperoni, cheese, and artichokes used in the skewer was just supermarket items. The cheese is not home made. Artichoke hearts were canned. Pepperoni — I assume no pizza place makes their own sausages so that’s OK. Overall, I think Tony’s one block away is better food but this was decent considering it’s a food truck.

Awesome Pizza. We were staying up the road at the Motel, popped down and 5 mins later came back with the best wood fire pizza ever. Very friendly staff, will be back again :-)

Fantastic fresh, locally sourced food from a cool food truck! We had a selection of the daily pizza offerings with delicious thin crust brushed with olive oil. And arugula/mixed greens salads to die for. All made to order within minutes. The last place we would have expected along a stretch of NY interstate mostly known for being a food desert… what a pleasant surprise. DEFINITELY worth the stop — and only a quarter mile off the highway.

Great pizza, fair prices, nice owners. What more could you ask from Herkimer– total surprise in this town. Family was on vacation at Howe cavern then mining and the local pizza joint was scary looking– hate to ruin a nice trip with food poisoning– so glad we found this gem!

We were just driving through and stopped here based on these Unilocal reviews. Turns out it is all true: this place is absolutely amazing and you should make every effort to stop by and try it. Friendly staff, reasonable cost, delicious pizza, incredible salads. And don’t forget the fire roasted peppers dish! I just can’t say enough great things about Mangia Macrina. Sure wish I lived around here!

Owners were awesome, pizza was even better! Didn’t expect to get such wonderful food so close to the highway! Try the Utica greens pizza!

What an oasis from the Extortion Stations of the thruway. For $ 5 you get a massive plate of greens with REAL balsamic vinegar, olive oil and prosciutto, then you can add any pizza toppings. I recommend roasted red peppers($ 1) and buffalo mozzarella($ 3) and if watching the wood-fire grill gives you pizza envy, rest assured the salad comes with a full fresh baked flatbread(akin to garlic rosemary naan). We also tried the fire roasted peppers, which were sweet and complex, with the same olive oil and a balsamic reduction. Will be stopping here any time I’m passing between Syracuse and Albany.

Fabulous stop on our way west on 90. Easy to find, delicious pizza and great owners. Would stop again without hesitation. Had the margherita pizza and an artichoke pizza. Both delish. Had an order of baby sweet peppers too, that I would definitely get again. $ 2 and tasty! A great stop.

It’s difficult to write a review of their food because I have yet to have it – I’ve stopped by twice now and they do not honor the hours posted on their website!

The most amazing pizza I’ve ever had! To have real Neapolitan pizza is very refreshing. No imitators here. Down to the last detail this place is really authentic. And those antipasto on a stick, and fire roasted baby peppers TODIEFOR. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks for bringing some classy authentic pizza to the valley guys.

Stop the bus! We found this food truck in the parking lot do the Tractor Supply in Herkimer New York. You have to have a pizza and the roasted peppers. The wood fired pizza was 10 stars. A must stop if you are traveling on route 90. The owner Chris is in the truck firing up the best pizza north of New York City.
