Lisa, the owner, is now opening from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday for brunch. I got the«Papa’s Favorite» Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and capers. It was excellent. My wife got the Steak and Biscuits. If you’re a long time Nashvillian and remember Ireland’s Steak and Biscuits, it’ll bring back memories of how good they were. The biscuits aren’t quite the same as Ireland’s(although just as good), but oooohh, that steak! In a day where it seems good steak on a biscuit so hard to find, these cuts just melted in your mouth. We also had a raspberry and an apple pastry that were absolutely some of the most delicately delicious we’d tasted. We went at 10:30 and were drinking coffee. You know, coffee drinkers are finicky about coffee. We like the cup full. Tristan, our server, did an excellent job with the coffee and the rest of the meal as well. The Donelson/Hermitage/Mt. Juliet area really needs another brunch spot on Sundays to give some choices. I can tell you, Lisa has a winner here, and it will be our brunch spot of choice!

This place was a great find! After touring The Hermitage, we were looking for a good steak. This fit the bill The atmosphere inside was very nice with a nice little bar/lounge area that wasn’t too dark or too light, but just right. The hostess was very pleasant and seated us right away. The food was very good! Starting with the 40 item salad bar. It kinda seemed out of place in a nice steakhouse, but allowed my salad to be carefully handcrafted just for me! The ribeye steak was perfectly marbled and cooked exactly as requested. The grilled shrimp were very large and tasty. The loaded baked potatoes were large and excellent, as was the mushroom appetizer. The only thing that knocked it down to 4 ½ stars for me was the server we had. She was very efficient and fairly attentive. Her only issue was she seemed a little stiff and formal, especially for this setting. However, the manager or owner stopped by our table and engaged us in a pleasant conversation as she inquired about our meal and experience. If I lived in Nashville, I would make this a regular place to eat. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

the best steak house around. i love the food and the salad bar in incredible! i want so badly to go the wonderful place five stars but the last few times i have gone the servers have been very moody and not very attentive. i feel like i am bothering them when i ask for a drink refill or some extra butter for my baked potato. they have forgotten how to smile, and i don’t know why because this is an amazing restaurant and as a former server i would have loved to have worked here!!! over all i highly recommend the Hermitage Steak house very much!!! try the rib eye for sure!!!

Food is pretty good, but the salad bar is overpriced for its limited options. There is live music on Fridays(I believe), and he sounds great but is a touch loud for the size of the venue. If you’re in the front dining area, the volume is too much for casual conversation with your dinner companions. Cute atmosphere and definitely not a bad place for a meal, though there is some room for improvement.

Their small ribeye is $ 18 with potato & salad bar. For the price, it’s outstanding. Get the bananas foster!

Service was great but the food was just okay for the price. I won’t be back but I definitely recommend sticking with steak if you decide to go. The lobster in the $ 76 lobster and steak entrée was gigantic but it was over cooked. For that price, I expect my food to be cooked properly … And not sure what made me sick but I’m guessing it was the smoked oyster from the salad bar; I thought it was smoked oyster but it was way too fishy tasting so I’m not sure what it was. Or maybe the overcooked lobster did it?(probably)… No clue. … I just know that something that I ate from here made me sick so don’t venture too far from the steak and potatoes here.. Other than that, it is an interesting little atmosphere and we had great service. Just know that, that is what you are paying for — not quality food. Like another review said, you could go to Ruby Tuesday if you are just wanting a good salad bar.

The best steakhouse in Hermitage by far. Service was excellent and our steaks were grilled to perfection. The salad bar was fresh and the choices were plentiful. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the nearby area.

The Good: FM Steak with grilled shrimp was excellent. Steak was very tender and tasteful. Salad bar was just right and oysters n anchovies in salad bar were an added delight. Super good value for the price. The Bad: Gray Goose martinis were weak. The Rest: A great stop overall. Our server was pleasant, timely, and professional. Had mussels, mushrooms, and fried pickles for appetizers and all were good. I wouldn’t call it fancy/stuffy but a cross between fancy and casual. The place had a comfortable feel. I will be back.

If it wasnt for the salad bar being better than average and the escargot being decent this place would have definitely got less. How do you screw up a ribeye… well get a tough cut thats dry. the flavor wasnt bad but a ribeye is a tender piece of meat and this was tough. The brussel sprouts were good. My son said his chicken wasnt bad. the whole point is the price should indicate or match the taste. it doesnt here and they were under staffed.

I’ve lived in Hermitage 4 years and this was the first time I stopped into Hermitage Steakhouse. I can’t believe I waited so long. Best filet ever! Lovely staff. Cozy atmosphere. I won’t wait another 4 years to return.

Do not see how the famous salad bar is so famous. May be because it so expensive for what is available on it. At $ 6.99 it would be acceptable, not acceptable at $ 10.99. The filet was cooked perfectly per my companion, but companion felt that salad bar was miserable. By the way there were only two OFUS and I only had the salad bar and a sweet tea, companion had filet and a soda. The bill was a whopping $ 51.00, with tip $ 60.00. If we had divided it in half, it would have cost me $ 30.00 for a lousy salad and sweet tea. As it was, it costs me still costs me $ 17.00 with tip, and I only had one trip to salad bar. Rethink the salad bar folks. My companion said she would go back but would be at lunch not dinner, if they open for lunch. I used to eat here all the time, but that was four or five years ago, it was much better then than now. I will probably not go back.

Went here recently for our anniversary and both my wife and I were very pleased. Not long of a wait and the food was fantastic. They have a very large salad bar and plenty to choose from.

Hmm, where to start. We decided to go here once and have been back three times since! The food is great and the salad bar is spectacular. The only thing I didn’t like was the hostess. She’s not the friendliest at times. Definitely will return though. :)

Great customer service!!! I felt like I was being well taken care of by staff. The salad bar is small, but full of really eclectic and delicious picks. My steak was cooked to perfection. I recommend this restaurant if you want to be treated like you are part of the family.

We had been looking for a great steak and we definitely found it here. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. The salad bar has everything you could want on it and anytime my husband can get a well done steak that is as juicy as this was that’s a plus. Neither steak needed sauce which made them even better. Prices are reasonable and you definitely get your money’s worth. If you’re looking for a great steak this place is a must. We will be going back.

Came in from Denver and met local friends here. I bucket list steakhouses around the country. Reasonable prices found here. Order your ribeye blackened(Pittsburgh). It was quite good. Salad bar was clean and quite wonderful. Very high quality ingredients as well. Only complaint– bad scotch selection and a very cranky and very indifferent bartender with a beard. He cheered up a bit when I tipped him $ 5 and put a lime in my Scotch and soda… Don’t dress up to come here. Nobody else does. Most of the clientele here wears ball caps and flannel shirts to the dinner table. Not a place for a quiet dinner either. But the steak was a B+. The price was great. Step up the bar. The bar experience is a D-. Hire a bartender with manners and a decent Scotch list that understands its sacrilegious to put a lime in Scotch.

Never have a bad meal when I come here. We had steak and lobster and shrimp with the salad bar. Everything was excellent. Only problem was I couldn’t order desert because I was too full. The waiter was very attentive as well. Seen a few comments about the décor and Yes it is very seventies, but given that the building is an old Peddler steakhouse building I’m not surprised. It may be old but it is clean and the look doesn’t effect the taste of the food.
