LongHorn Steakhouse

I always go for the Seven-​Pepper Salad a/​k/​a Black & Blue Salad. They cook the filet pieces just perfectly and I love that blue cheese!

My wife and I got a call from her brother and wanted to get together for a steak, and brought up Outback not far from where I live; after the extremely mediocre experience I had at Outback not long ago, I really wanted to try something different, and so I counter-​suggested Longhorn, and I am very glad we chose it.
Everything I found was better overall. My waiter, Michael, was outstanding. He kept up with us, made sure we always had full drinks, quickly fulfilled our wishes, and made our experience really really good.
I got a blackberry iced tea, and that was really tasty. The bread was very good. Even the salad was decent, and I’m not a salad guy at all. Then we got our entrees, and my ribeye was excellent. Big, juicy, tender. Just outstanding.
My wife wanted a dessert, and so we got this Chocolate Stampede dish, and it was about the best dessert I’ve had in years. huge, rich, chocolatey, with this dreamy vanilla ice cream. Everything about it was un-​bee-​leeve-​a-​bull! Just outstanding.
This is one of the best steak experiences I’ve had in a long time. Very tasty. Great experience overall.

Yes I understand it’s a steakhouse, but I ordered chicken. Chicken tenders… like a little kid. Sometimes you just get the craving for them! And they were reallly good too… not that pre-​battered and fried crap either — hand battered to order!
If it weren’t for the slow service, terrible drinks and a few messed up orders… I would’ve given it a 4.

I go to Longhorn as often as I can afford. It’s not too expensive, depending on what you drink. I usually go alone, and sit at the bar so I can watch the news while I eat (always multitasking). I usually get the Outlaw Ribeye, bone in steak. Sometimes there is quite a bit of fat on the cut, but sometimes I get a really good piece. Also a favorite of mine is the sweet potato with cinnamon and butter.
They have a great bar, friendly staff, and they remember you if you come in often, and act like they remember you if you don’t. They make you feel at home, and will sometimes even sit at your table while you are ordering — my kids kinda like that.
It’s a nice place for a date, kinda low light inside, and it’s a good place if you wanna go alone and sit at the bar.
