I tried this place for the first time last night after finding out that my previous go-to place had closed(RIP Aangan…). I ordered paneer makhani, my favorite dish and therefore what I always order the first time I try a new place. As another reviewer said, the sauce was REALLY orange, but it was also delicious, so I can live with it. There was a good amount of paneer in the sauce(some places give you lots of sauce and very little of anything else). I got a huge bowl of rice – so much that I couldn’t come close to finishing it. Naan was very good and seemed freshly made. I got in just before a large party(seriously, a busload that took up the entire rest of the place). I was a little concerned about service when that happened, but they had their own buffet setup, so the kitchen was still able to accommodate someone not in the large group. No complaints. I’ll definitely be back – I like their version of my favorite Indian dish, and there were several other menu items that looked good.

DELICIOUS! I went there for samosa chaat, the crust was perfect with chick peas and yogurt in a tamarind and mint sauce and its all I can think about! Great staff and service, I had them cater my last two events. Their Spinach and onion fritters are the best!

I ate in here, the service was great, the food… I love Indian food and have found several outstanding restaurants in the NoVa area, this is not one of them. My sister’s murgh makni looked like it was based in tomato soup and my palek paneer lacked a hearty amount of spinach and also could have been based in a soup(cream of mushroom?) the food came out so fast that they clearly have shortcuts to making their food. Not impressed.

Good durka food. Been going here for a couple years. Always used to think it was some sort of after-hours jihadi training center since it’s always empty. How else can they afford that quality realestate? I must be lucky and always go when it’s off-peak. I’m a gweilo so I have no real bearing on the quality, but I did bring a Pakistani friend in there and she said it’s pretty good. So that has to mean something. Anyway, good service. I get the Thali most of the time. All those random dishes, its pretty cool. It’s different almost every time. I bring friends there a lot. Everyone digs it.

Let me start with the positives — 1) The place has a nice décor and the waiting staff does speak clearly though a bit pushy(esp. the lady). 2) The veg appetizers, the hara bhara kabab and the aloo tuk are pretty decent. Alas, that’s where it ends! After 2 – 3 trips of just trying the appetizers we thought we’d stay longer and have dinner. BIGMISTAKE! Indian cooking is about intricate prep and textures but at this place it is nothing more than un-marinated cubes of meat/vegetable dumped in sauces. Yes, sauces — texture-less, simple and boring uni-flavored dishes that were so uninspiring that we we were extremely put off that they even claimed this to be an Indian restaurant. We literally had to get the stuff packed and we re-did them I our kitchen to make them edible. Sorry, it’s a all show and no substance place with an assembly line approach to Indian cooking. Very very disappointed!

Craving some classic butter chicken, my mother and I decided to go out for Indian food this Saturday evening. We found a Groupon for a restaurant just a few miles from our house with a $ 30 for $ 15 deal, which brought us to Supper Club of India. Supper Club of India is labeled as «Harvest of India» on the outside – I’m not sure if that’s because they recently moved and have yet to change the sign or merged with the restaurant that used to be there. Either way, we walked in and were seated immediately. It wasn’t empty, but about half the tables were full. I noticed some other parties had the printed out groupon with them as well. Not knowing a whole lot about Indian food, we ordered the murg makhani(butter chicken) and the murg vindaloo. The waiter had warned us that the murg vindaloo would be «a little spicy.» Enjoying spicy foods, we said it would be ok. Unfortunately, for dinner, this restaurant doesn’t give free naan to start – it costs extra. Being the carb addicts my mom and I are, we were pretty disappointed. Our dishes came out in two metal pots with a large side of rice – easy for sharing. The pots looked deceptively small, but we ended up only finishing half of what we ordered and took the rest home. The butter chicken was delicious and completely satisfied my butter chicken craving. Tomato-y, creamy, and buttery with a nice crunch from the almonds in it as well. However, I’ve never seen a butter chicken that color before and it was shockingly orange. The murg vindaloo was good, but really, really spicy – and I’ve always thought that I could handle heat in food. My favorite part of the vindaloo were the creamy and soft potato chunks. The rice was nice and fluffy, with each grain perfectly separated from each other. Surprisingly, it was all white rice though – no yellow grains of saffron rice. Each dish was $ 15. The service was extremely attentive and our food came out pretty fast as well. While I was satisfied by my meal, with small aspects like no free naan or no saffron rice, I thought that $ 15 was pretty pricy. The groupon deal, however, can’t be beat and I know I’ll be back in the future to try more things on the menu but only with the groupon.

I tried this place place for lunch because I was home sick and they deliver, I never should have strayed from Angeethi(which is just down the steet). I got the murg vindaloo, which is generally pretty standard but this was a strange technicolor red, smelled like ketchup and missed the lovely traditional indian spices. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of one is tat they actually made it spicy enough to mask some of their sins. Better options in Herndon, I’ll skip this place from now on!

Great week day lunch buffet. Loved that they had lamb, many places leave lamb for weekends. The place had a facelift recently – looks good, the place needed a boost. Bar area was reworked, doesn’t feel dingy anymore. Good job! The food is still very tasty and service is superb. The staff are so welcoming and attentive – thank you Lily and Ali!

Excellent as always! We always get that butter chicken, tandoori chicken, a vegetarian dish with paneer, cucumber salad, and garlic naan. Also my daughter and fiancé love the mango lassi and I love to try new Indian beers. The owner is always working there and greets us with a warm smile. Food and service is always excellent.

Foods was ok but everything boiled down to «meat [chicken, lamb, beef] and sauce [brown, white]». For example the raita was supposed to have tomato. … NOT. Hard to miss a red vegetable, ok fruit, in a white sauce. The lamb gosht was supposed to be «finished with nuts and raisins». No nuts or raisins in sight. … Just lamb and Brown sauce. Tasted ok but not what the menu described.

I’ve been to Supper Club of India several times over the years, but this was my first time going to the new location in the K-Mart shopping center. As others have mentioned, the signage says«Harvest of India»(the other half of this dual-Indian restaurant partnership). I ordered the Gosht(lamb) Kolhapuri and garlic naan for takeout. Ready in twenty minutes, the curry was a nice spicy alternative to the standard vindaloo and probably about equal in terms of heat. The blend of spices in the dish linger beautifully as the heat builds and subsides. The garlic naan was thick and soft, easily teared and dipped in the curry. The garlic itself was simply chopped into chunks and baked into the bread. Great for people who don’t mind eating chunks of garlic(like myself), but just a heads up for those who are expecting the mince instead. It’s a little pricey for ~$ 23, though I found it worth it as the leftover curry and naan made up more than half of my lunch the following day. I’ll also mention that they don’t offer takeout for the super spicy Lamb Phaal(my original choice). I’m sure I’ll be back to try that in person sometime soon!
