This is our FAVORITE Mexican restaurant! The salsa is delicious, and that is a deal-breaker for me. We come here about once a week, and they are very friendly. They seat us right away and know our drink order. Great flavor in all the food I have tried, but my favorite is still the cheese enchiladas. Great buffet too on Sundays and Monday nights. Our kids love the food too. Great place!

I have lived in the desert for about 8 years and have not set foot in this place until yesterday. This is truly the definition of a hidden gem. The service was bar none the best i have ever seen of a mom and pop restaurant. They truly understand customer service and dont even get me started on the food woooo i can right a book. The food was amazing probably the best your going to get for your money aside having your old mexican grandmother make it for you. It was reasonably priced but still 100 times worth it. The quality and presentation of the food was fantastic and i will definitly recommend this place and will return over and over and over!!! if i could give 6 stars i would.!!

By far the best Mexican restaurant in the HD. I’ve been coming here for years and I still haven’t wrapped my head around how amazing it is. Haven’t been able to find a close second yet!

My husband and I went in based on the reviews. We have been looking for a good taco spot so we decided to try it. Well, not knowing it was Taco Tuesday Special. Score!!! I decided on 3 Asada tacos and 1 chicken taco dorado. Everything was delicious! Good service! Good tacos! Definitely going back.

Great service with authentic food. The atmosphere is a little dated but everything else makes up for it.

We chose Don Garcia’s based on the sheer amount of great reviews of course. Saturday night, 2nd day of January and clientele is a bit scarce, which is great for us. We were seated promtly and given a basket of tortillia chips, small bowl of red salsa and a small bowl of(I assume) coleslaw. We order 2 taquito kids plates, carnitas for the hubby and Asada chimichanga for me. Now this is hard for me. I want to give 5 stars just for the service. But I also want to give 2 stars for the food. The salsa had zero heat and not much flavor. The chips seemed fresh and made on site, but needed salt. Hubby said the carnitas were«alright». The kids liked their taquitos. My chimichanga was pretty bland. Maybe we’ll come back and give Don Garcia’s another chance. But it’s not looking good. Sorry guys. Service lived up to the Unilocal hype. The food did not.

Great food! loooove their taco tuesdays and sunday champagne brunch. we moved up to the area 5 months ago and was went to don garcias because it was close to our new home. We were shocked at how good the food is and now it is our«go to» restaurant. Make sure you ask for their spicy green salsa and mexican coleslaw for your chips, soooo good!

This place was real good brought the whole family and it didn’t kill the wallet. The enchiladas were on point. The street tacos must have been good my daughter ate both her tacos. Wife always eats the Milanesa torta and tell me it’s real good.

Stopped here on our way back to Los Angeles from Las Vegas… Delicious and very authentic!!! We ordered enchiladas suizas, verde burrito, street tacos, refried beans and fried ice cream. All yummy! The service was great too! Next time we are in the area this will definitely be one of our stops!

This is one of the best Mexican spots in this forsaken desert. It’s like pancho villas but less expensive. The chips and salsa is really good. Don’t forget to ask for the habanero sauce on the side.

I was in town for a night(it does not seem that many people actually would have a reason to sleep in Victorville or Hesperia for a night), and I was looking for a local non-chain restaurant for dinner. I looked on Unilocal and found several restaurants, but most were chains or serving burgers, which I wasn’t in the mood for, particularly because I wanted to find a place that had margaritas. The Unilocal reviews were generally favorable for Don Garcias, so I showed up around 5:30 or 5:45 on a Wednesday night. The place was empty, so the service was quick. I ordered a regular margarita on the rocks, and while the waiter was getting the drink, I noticed a sign saying margaritas were $ 6.50. Happy Hour margaritas in the DC area are $ 5.00, so $ 6.50 seemed reasonable. I was very surprised when the waiter delivered a large margarita that was twice as much as I would get in DC. It also was strong(two of them and I had to turn down the third to make sure I could drive back to the hotel). For dinner, I asked for the green chili burrito(around $ 10-$ 11) with whole pinto beans(instead of refried beans) and extra green chili sauce. The burrito was large, but even more impressive was the fact that there was more meat(pork) in the burrito than beans. Everything tasted great, and by the time I left at 6:45, the place was filled with at least 15 – 20 other patrons. I would post pictures, but I didn’t take any because they wouldn’t look any different than the pictures already on Unilocal

This place is okay if your a caucasian and you love the idea of Mexican food… Everything is tasteless it’s like the food was toned down for the delicate stomachs of everyone other than(Latinos) I almost feel like I should have told the waiter hey I’m the real deal you can use grease and real Jalepenos In my salsa… Over all the service was great and cheap but not authentic Mexican food at all oh and salsa for my tacos was so fuckin weak taste weird like lime and tomato sauce come on Don Garcia step your shit up bro

Myself and the SO decided to try this place based on the reviews from Unilocal. With that said our experience was as follows: Upon entering the establishment we were greeted warmly by all of the staff and settled into a booth right away. They offered drinks as soon as we sat down and I ordered a Mango Patron Margarita on the rocks and the SO ordered Tamarindo. My drink was delicious and they did not skimp on tequila. The tamarindo was a little watered down is what I was told. We ordered the cheese fries with Carne Asada as an appetizer and honestly thought they were delicious and filling. Enough for a meal. We also had the two soups offered and both were delicious. I ordered the Steak Acapulco which is Shrimp and Salsa wrapped in Steak wrapped in Bacon. Enough meat? It was yummy, as were the rice and beans. SO had a steak with Green chile and rice and beans. I had a small taste. The chile was delicious but I thought the steak could have been more tender. After the meal I ordered a Banana margarita. I tasted more tequila than banana but it was still delicious. Aside from the food, the wonderful friendly atmosphere was great. It sounded like they had a lot of regulars and called some people by name. Our server told us to sit as long as we liked and made our dining experience fantastic. All in all I recommend this place for a nice down home Mexican dinner.
