Full disclosure: I now live in Chicago where there are many superb sushi spots. For the high desert, this place was certainly decent. We came on Valentine’s Day and were told there’d be a 40 min wait. We waited maybe 15 and were seated at the bar. The rolls are huge compared to what I am used to. The wine selection sucks, but that’s probably because people don’t know wine in the high desert. The sushi guy gave us a shot of some citrus sake to try, so thumbs up to that! All-in-all we had a good date and the food was ok.

The food is normally very good except for they cannot handle a dinner rush on a friday night. you walk in there at 7:30, there are 15 seats available that hasn’t even been bussed yet and nobody’s being seated. This place can never handle a busy Friday dinner rush. During lunch hours it’s great but good luck on a Friday night. This place seriously needs to hire more staff or it won’t stay in business long!

Very impressed. Was not sure about sushi in the High Desert but left impressed with the service and the food quality. Presentation was a surprise also. Great job!!!

Went here for lunch, Food is always great, Plate Presentation is outstanding. The main chef who Is usually there during the afternoon is always very polite. Waitress today wasn’t so much. Took a long time to get drinks, and she didn’t seem to have a very good attitude. Probably won’t be back Here due to lack of customer service.

I’ve been coming here ever since I moved to the High Desert 7 months ago and me and my wife love it! Great quality food, the sushi is fresh, so delicious! The guys making the sushi are nice, funny, and very friendly but yet professional. Best place to sit is at the bar because you get you food quick! Prices are very good too! I’ve had they’re oysters, spicy seafood ramen, oyster shots, fried Oreo/Twinkie ice cream dessert EVERYTHING I’ve tried is good! It’s a must

Do not let the A on the window fool you. Waitresses have a less than clean appearance and bad attitudes, hair all over the place… Got our water from an uncovered bucket on the counter. The chef was wiping his nose, drinking beer, and making rolls with no gloves on completely disgusting and unprofessional. GOELSEWHERE

Decided to come to this place with my cousin and it wasn’t great, but not to bad. The waitress was in la-la land and had no idea of the items in the menu. I ordered ramen and politely asked her to not add onions or mushrooms, repeated myself twice since I’m a picky eater. The place wasn’t to busy but my ramen took about 40 mints to be served. And to my surprise, it had a ton(so it seemed to me) of onions and mushrooms. The ramen was good(not the best I had), that’s why I gave this place 3 stars. Their service is not too good, so if you are giving this place a try, have lots of patience! Because you will get frustrated. And your order might get screw up. But their aren’t that many ramen places out here, so for the meanwhile this place will do.

This is still the best sushi spot in the high desert! Great service and great sushi chefs. Try sitting at the bar for the best service.

I want to start off saying that the«hype» for this place doesn’t live up to the reality. As a Japanese raised for half of my life in Japan I know sushi and I can definitely tell this isn’t it. Neither was the food… it wasn’t Japanese at all, I’d say it was more Korean or Chinese Fusion with Japanese. For those who don’t know real sushi it might be good but not for me. I recently moved up here and decided to give Katsunori a try… WORSTMISTAKE… It was overpriced and the service was horrible. My co worker and I went to have dinner there Friday after work at about 7 pm together and after being ignored when we walked in for 10 minutes we were asked to wait even longer for a seat at the bar. We were helped by Jason, who might I add during our conversation was very rude, and hadn’t even gone to an actual Sushi Culinary School and was just the owners son. First of all an ‘actual sushi chef’ goes to school or trains as an apprentice under a sushi chef that went to school, so no Mr. Jason you are not a sushi chef in the least way, you didn’t even get the sashimi cut correctly or thinly enough even I could cut it that way, and I really did not appreciate your strong smell of your little smoking break, that was very off putting. The atmosphere of the place was okay I guess but I could distinctly hear the yells of some lady yelling profanity at some poor person in the back, that is definitely unprofessional. After a great sushi night out with my same coworker today at Yoshi’s Sushi, we were welcomed right away, given attention to at all times, the sushi chef was very funny and inviting and the quality of the food was so much better… As a 100% Japanese person I DONOTRECOMMEND this place if you want an authentic and real Japanese restaurant experience.

This is the BOMB place… I have tried many different places to try to get some good sushi… and this this the BEST!!! Not only is the Sushi the best around but so are the Chefs… and yes they have Much, Much more. They treat everyone like family… I have turned others on to this place, even people that never thought they would be found in a restaurant of this type… But now these friends call me to meet them here… lol… I used to travel to Las Vegas for the sushi… But now I travel right here, close to home! Love it !!! Thank you for opening this Great place close to home…

Food is great, but service is very slow. I ordered their house salad and crunch roll. I asked the waitress to bring my salad before my meal and it literally took 20 minutes to get my salad. I wanted it before my meal, but ended up getting both at the same time. I am new in the area. This was my third time eating there with the same slow service. Will probably look for another sushi place in the area.

We love this sushi restaurant. The staff is friendly and the sushi rolls are awesome! It is a little expensive, but most sushi places are. We always get miso soup, California roll, Hesperia roll, and crunch roll. There’s a cool bar connected with it also. We even call ahead to pick up orders to eat at home as well.

How is it that I live in Florida, surrounded by beaches, yet the sushi in water deprived California is cheaper, fresher tasting, and a bigger variety?!? I make it a point to come here each time I visit. Great food, reasonably prices and good service. The ramen is also 5 stars hands down.

Just ok for the price. For $ 30, I got the dinner special with a large sake and mochi. The bento box dinner came with teriyaki salmon, rice, a small salad, a california roll, and tuna sashimi. The sushi roll was alright, but the sashimi was surprisingly disappointing. Usually sashimi would be the highlight of my meal, a buttery melt-in-your-mouth, tender, glistening jewel of flesh. What I got was a dry, flavorless slice of fish. Even a lengthy dip in soy sauce didn’t seem to penetrate the parched piscine portion. Rocky was my chef, he was very nice and entertaining. He plans to take over the world also.

Food was amazing. Went there for my birthday. Had premium lobster roll, Dragon roll, ½ dozen oysters, oyster shooters, calimari tempura appetizer, ono sashimi, hamachi sashimi, salmon sashimi, and the best fish I have ever tried was the blue fin tuna! I never knew tuna could be good, until I tried the blue fin here. Also their salmon is amazing as well both a must try! The service here was great, very friendly and attentive. Also they have draft beer. I had their Johnny Apple seed hard cider on tap. With no doubt about it I will be back!!! I’m so happy I came here for my birthday!!!
