I have eaten here a few times in the last year. The owner always speaks and makes recommendations, We have always enjoyed the food especially the stuffed artichokes which we once ordered and took to a family gathering and they were a big hit.

Great food, wonderful personable service. Small, intimate. Amazing fresh ingredients. Everytime I come home I make sure to eat here with my family. Perfection.

Salt! All dishes were loaded with it. I ordered the Ossobucco with risotto special and all I tasted was salt. The«house made» mozzarella and ricotta app was good, but the jar roasted peppers killed it. The zuppa di pesce linguini was pretty good. Fresh seafood but salty. No liquor license, which is fine. But they advertise a «wine list». There was none. Just the house red, which apparently costs $ 35 per bottle for a blended italian table wine. Being a neighborhood place, I badly wanted to love this place. Unfortunately for me and them, I can’t in good conscience give them another dollar.

Delicious home cooked Italian food. I love their fillet of sole and the black linguini pasta. Their home made desserts are yummy. Especially the Italian cheesecake. It’s a great cosy local restaurant.

What a great neighborhood place to have. The food is always good and the blackboard specials keep things interesting. Freddy & Dina are such friendly people. With enough notice they will make a recipe even if its not on the menu. It’s no wonder that we are there at least once a week. It’s our go to place.

Contrary to what previous reviewers have said, Ciao Bella is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Freddy and his wife are wonderful hosts. The first time I went there we used a Groupon, and they honored it without a problem. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so reservations are needed on the weekend. If it takes a little longer to seat, it is completely worth the wait. The food is delicious. Everything is made to order and the pasta is homemade. One of the best pasta dishes I have ever had — coming from someone who grew up in an Italian household. We went back for a second time, and definitely will return again soon. The veal and eggplant was spectacular. If you have never been here, you are truly missing out! Plus they have homemade ricotta cheesecake and gelato for dessert.

It took us forever to get seated here — we had a reservation for 7:30 and, after arguing with Freddy the owner and his wife, we were finally seated at 8:25. And to top it off, they didn’t accept our gift certificates that we had bought there! The terrible, negative attitudes we received from the owner and his wife will ensure that we never even try to go back to this hole-in-the-wall!

I ate a Ciao bella last night with my grandmother and family members… the food was delicious!!! The atmosphere is great being from Queens I generally go to Manhattan for dinner and drinks but this place it so good it makes me want to come to the south shore more often. In fact I love the food so much i’m having my rehearsal dinner there because i know everyone will LOVE it!!!
