Good country cooking for a great price. Delicious veggies and fried chicken and salads. Just like I remember from childhood.

Well I was hoping for a nice surprise as I have found after nine days of being here in the fall 9 days in the summer that there is no good food in Hiwassee. Unfortunately I found the same thing here. I did the buffet and while the food appeared to be fresh, as the gentleman kept bringing it out. everything was unseasoned and flavorless the peas the macaroni and cheese the fried chicken. all cooked without salt and tasteless the fried shrimp which obviously was frozen out of the bag was pretty good. the woman at the convenience store told me about Daniels and she said it was the best place in town .well from my experience so far haha that’s not saying much and this place was no different maybe I should try the food off the menu. I don’t know when I looked at the bill it was very cheap and I’m seeing a trend here. while you would think there was a lot of money in Hiwassee maybe there is, but people don’t want to spend it .even the movie theater is very cheap. but I did enjoy the movie i know i will never be back here is a vender at the festival because that seems to be the case people wouldn’t pay $ 0.50 to rescue their mother from a burning building. I’m sorry to rant but that’s just been my experience here beautiful area. But that’s where it ends. Maybe I will start a restaurant here because this town really needs someone who puts love into the preparation of their food. Daniels is a nice environment and I think I will try one time a menu item to make sure I haven’t made a mistake but based on the buffet I would say go to McDonalds or huddle house before you come here

We had a group of 18 as it turned out. We started out about 10 miles down 76 handing out delicious junk food and sodas as Trail Angels to about 50AT hikers. We then moved here with our group… I was the lead guy and everyone here(Hi, Amy!) was immediately on it to put together a space for our unannounced and large group. Most opted for the delicious buffet and several ordered off the menu. No one left hungry or dissatisfied. Every one of us would be happy to come back anytime we are in the area. Awesome place!

Average at best. But cheap for the kids. Under 10 was $ 5.00. So if you just need some food and want to save a buck it’s ok.

I’ve been to eat here a few times and the food is your typical buffett style food. Nothing fantastic at all. Not sure but I have a feeling the place was a funeral home at one time just by the layout and design. Tried to book a family reunion here and was flat out told«no because it would be a holiday weekend.» The holiday would be a Monday and I was trying to book the place at 5pm on a Saturday. So instead of booking a sure thing of 50 customers they would rather risk it and hope to be busy. Basically they lost my business and I will go else where. The Gone with the Wind theme is tacky anyway.

Ive eaten here since it opened. moved away though and it is as good as always. Nice décor. Super friendly staff! Buffett was decent. Very good selection and well cooked but some of it was plain. Main dishes were very good. Menu items are very good. Place was clean. Kids loved the food! I don’t think of it a steakhouse but a good all around place.

Bugs! I have been to this restaurant in the past when I was in Hiawassee. I thought it had decent home cooked food. Went this time and had the buffet. Food seemed good, it was getting closer to closing so some things could have been a tad fresher. When I went up for dessert, that’s when I saw it… SEVERAL bugs crawling on the buffet station. These weren’t roaches, but they were in the food. I was done, and this place needs to call an exterminator.
