I know that this may be petty but the last two times I’ve been here and dined in, I’ve had no napkins. None on any of the tables and none given to me. This is a pizza place with greasy (but very good) pizza… Let’s get your tables on board with the rest of the pizza places and be more napkin friendly! PS, don’t let napkingate deter you, the food is pretty good!

I always get a single slice with my favorite toppings. Great place for a quick lunch and fair pricing! Never had an issue.

Wasn t happy today ordered wings asked for all flats said they couldn t do that what ever happened to pleasing the customer one time i ordered it they sent out all drumetes i think just to piss me off wel it did i am actully pissed this time i may not come back i wouldn t recamend coming here if you want something made a certain way i suppose its their way or no way

My friend grew up in Hickory and her first job was at Dante’s. When we visit Hickory we will usually go to Dante’s for lunch. I have gotten the turkey sub and the buffalo chicken sub before. Both were decent sandwiches. They come with a bag of chips. This place isn’t my favorite but is totally comfort food for my friend who grew up here and worked here.

The absolute best, hands down pizza in Hickory! The service is always superior, prompt and friendly. Don’t even get me started on their crispy crusted sandwich bread… devine devine, albeit whole wheat or white bread. The prices are low, and the food quality and quantity are an excellent value!

Totally not impressed! Lived in Buffalo NY and traveled to NYC often and this is a terrible excuse for NY style pizza. I would highly suggest that the owners /​chefs visit NYC to find out what a true NYC pizza tastes like! Oh, and real Buffalo wings are deep fried, NOT BAKED — I lived for years down the street from the Anchor Bar, home to the Buffalo Wing! And I can tell you, for any true wing lover, it’s an insult to bake a Buffalo Wing!!!

Great Pizza and Sandwiches. Consistently good. My picky eater kids favor this place over anywhere else in hickory. Nice staff. Hometown feel but you don’t have to be a local to enjoy. When out of town family comes to visit they ask to go to dantes.

This is my new favorite pizza place! I love the buffalo wing pizza here! I love they have a drive through, makes bringing home the pizza even easier :)

Dante’s has the BEST pizza in Hickory. Try the pepperoni and bacon… thin crust or regular crust, both are delicious! To top things off, if you happen to have your dog with you at the drive through, they’ll give you a dog biscuit! My dogs absolutely LOVE Dante’s!

Dante’s is my favorite pizza and sandwich place in Hickory. The people are extremely friendly, I always get smiles and great service. If you sit in and eat they’ll bring the food to you.

I took a chance and asked for delivery again after a while. They found me easily and I’ve asked for delivery many more times with no repeat of the previous problem. I feel completely comfortable asking them to delivery to my house now. If I could give them six stars, I would!

Cons:
Can get pricey (~$ 6 for half a sub, $ 10 for a whole)
The building is small, so it’s iffy to get seating inside during prime times

I’ve never eaten here before, and I don’t even live close by; but I had to call in a delivery order for a co-​worker who was in a meeting last week. The girl on the phone taking my order was really pretty rude and kept interrupting me when i was placing the order. At the end of the convo she asked if I wanted to add a tip to the order on the credit card and I said yes. I estimated in my head that $ 2.50 was MORE than a 20% tip and should be sufficient for the delivery of 2 sandwiches for lunch. She said «I’m sorry ma’am, we have a $ 3 minumum for our tips».
I get that if it was more than 6 people ordering, or maybe they have delivery fees, but its not very nice to tell a patron that you have a minimum amount you will receive as a tip, generally that would be my decision and is not mandatory. Hmm. if I’m ever in the area I will probably skip this place.

We ordered a kids pizza, an Italian sub, and a tuna salad sub. All in all, it was fairly average. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, because I didn’t see or eat anything that warranted a 5-​star rating. It wasn’t bad, I just wasn’t really impressed.

At Dante’s you order at the counter and the food is brought out to your table. The pizza was tasty, and the service was friendly. I was there near closing time, and you will feel akward if you are the last group in the restaurant, so make sure to get there early.

If you want a good local place to go to in Hickory this is the place. Great Staff and good food.
I have been coming here for a while and I love it. Their meatball sub is off the charts and the pizza is yummy. They have a lot of variety from wings, sandwiches, pizza by the slice and salads.
Now to be clear, they don’t make the best pizza or subs in the world. They just do everything well with a great attitude. The owner is also helpful and the staff is one of the best I know. So if you or your family want some good pizza with a smile, go to Dante’s.
