Food was absolutely delicious from our appetizers all the way to dessert. I had a request to have my salmon«lite» without any dressing or butter, etc. the restaurant is very accommodating.

The restaurant is located on the corner of Woodbury Road and South Oyster Bay Road. The décor is simple with comfortable seating along with a small bar by the entrance of the restaurant. This is a restaurant with personal touch from everyone, especially the owner Luigi. We have been here many times whether for lunch or dinner. Some of our previous favorites are the Soft-shell crabs, Tuna and the Chicken specials which are all superb. We were just recently over for a business lunch and ordered some good bottle of wine to go with the crab cakes and the bronzini. They were both superb. Pricey, but worth it.

I will never go to Luigi Q again. Do not go if you are not a regular or you enjoy being looked down upon. As other’s have stated the owner is rude and condescending. I was spoken down to because I was wearing a neat and clean pair of Ralph Lauren Polo jeans(new and blue) and a Polo golf shirt. I assume I received the wrath of the owner because I was wearing all black sneakers. The food is good but over-priced. It is too easy to find better establishments to spend your hard-earned money in.

This review is long overdue. Eaten here many times, and each time the service and food is always top shelf. Ok, what’s wrong with a little arrogance from your host, and dressing up to eat? It feels good, fits the atmosphere, the décor, the quality of the food, and the service. Menu? There is one but you don’t need it. Your waiter will rattle off the specials, and recommend courses based on your taste and they will prepare your beef, chicken, veal or fish anyway you want. Who doesn’t love that! The fresh fish entrees are to die for, including my scallops, the cod, sea bass, etc. Fresh pasta, you name it they have it. You want to start off with some olives, cheese, and cold cuts, you get it. Maybe some hot peppers in olive oil and roasted garlic cloves, done. My only weakness was the just ok veal Marsala. Then you end your meal with a double espresso, some biscotti cookies, and in my case, the decadent Napoleon. So make a reservation, be respectful, and get ready for some of the best Italian on Long Island.

Was a little worried due to prior reviews and was hesitant to keep our reservation. BUT — experienced an awesome evening of relaxation and excellent food with friends. Owners /Staff could not have been more receptive to our every need. All were very helpful and gracious, executing our dishes to specific dietary needs. Crab Cakes, linguine w/clam sauce, Caesar Salad and Pork Chop all AMAZING! Don’t understand how others had a less than enjoyable experience. Although we live less than a mile away, we’ve never been and went due to curiosity… we will definitely be back — often.

My wife and I were in the neighborhood and were in the mood for Italian food. We launched Unilocal and looked what was close. Great pick food was top notch. Service was good

Lungi, the owner, is by far the most arrogant, non welcoming owner I have ever seen. If you are not one of his regulars and dressed formally you will basically be glared at(as if to say what are you doing here?) With so many restaurants on Long Island does anyone really need this arrogant prick?

Dinner here was good and satisfying. The service was spectacular. The owner came by to greet us and the server went out of his way to cater to us. It’s slightly pricey for what you are getting.

After making reservations a week in advance had to call to cancel due to inclement weather and wanted to reschedule for 2 weeks later the owner was rude and said call the day before, which mostly likely would be too late to get the reservation. He wasn’t happy that we cancelled due to the fact that others probably cancelled as well due to bad snow.

Eat there last night. Luigi ordered for us and it was all delicious. WE had just returned from Italy last month(the same region Luigi is from) and I must say Luigi’s food was a good match for what we ate in Italy. we changed the number of people and time 2 times before we got there and it was not a problem. Let Luigi order for you .You will not be disappointed.

First time at this restaurant, it was just our party of 6 and one other table(Tuesday night in August)…The food was excellent, everything we ordered was great(duck, chicken scarp, oysters, fresh vegetable soup, etc.). Our waiter Tony and owner Luigi could not have been anymore friendly and attentive. We plan on going back, perhaps on a Saturday evening, so we will see how the service is then.

Luigi greeted us at the door and graciously led my family to a spacious round table. The service was patient, attentive, and prompt. The antipasti, seafood, pasta and steak was all cooked to perfection and was very delicious. Also, one person had a gluten free pasta dish that was surprisingly as good as the the regular. This place is a local institution.

I went to buy take-out for my family solely because Unilocal says they offer take-out. The owner himself said«We do not do take-out.» Do they or don’t they!?!

Reserved a table for 12 for the family for a birthday dinner. We arrived early and then was rudely told by the owner that we only reserved for 4 and was told to leave. Don’t know how 12 sounds anything like like 4 or why the owner made it sound like it ‘we’ were the ones at fault. but we know one thing for sure… not attempting to eat there again.

The food and the service is better than anyone. Luigi is a bit nutty for sure, but really is a good guy that oversees everything and that’s why it is always good, food and drink. And really who really wants to eat with kids at a joint like this with kids… Leave them at home…

Business Man’s Lunch place… fantastic service, great food, luckily I didn’t have to pay the bill! Owner was present and personally reviewed all of the dishes, excellent! My Tuna dish was wonderful, and my colleagues ordered chops and lobster ravioli which were both equally awesome Definately go back here, parking is in back and in front of restaurant. Don’t bring kids here and dress appropriately, and enjoy.

Luigi Q is one of those places where you go for superb cooking. It is not rushed, and although the menu may seem a bit limited sometimes, the specials are simply superb. The service is personal and unhurried. The martini’s are fabulous. The only thing I never understand about this place is why it is not always packed solid. Prices are high but well worth it.

I have been going here for several years when I get the chance. Luigi personally supervises all the entrees. and they are all good. From fresh salads, seafood or pastas he will accommodate whatever you want. Good wine list and nice inside too. This place is a winner.

Owner is manner-less & rude. Not welcomed, but snubbed by owner for surprise dress code. in fairness it happened when they first opened. The owner a very serious proprietor, wearing a suit– thought we weren’t dressed to his formal standards. My friend had a polo shirt, dockers, and beige summer shorts…(this is what scared Luigi Q). I have no idea what I was wearing but likely it was him not me :) hehe. It was cute what he said … real cute … «Excuse me can I help you.» deterring our further progression… A table for two for lunch please… «Dressed like that. I am sorry.» !? –That’s FINE, come on let’s head over to LAPARMA, he gave the biggest second look I’ve ever seen. That’s right Luigi. you only wish you had their volume… change your attitude my friend… There is no formal dress code for Long Island’s north shore boating community(this is south of that). But there is a conduct code for restaurateurs. I just read the filtered reviews, obviously an irrate reviewer… and new. so the two of them got filtered… but… they sound like they were treated the same way!!! worse perhaps. LOL this Luigi is quite the firecracker apparently.

Luigi Q was chosen for a business lunch with one of our clients. We had a group of five and the place is old world spotless with superb service and the smell of good food hits you when you walk through the door. You can tell that they cater to regulars and that those people come for the food and the treatment they receive. They have a long list of specials and all the Italian staples one would look for. Portion size is reasonable and not overblown. Sauce is heavy on flavor and doesn’t disappoint a Manhattan-raised snob who was spoiled by Patsy’s. I’d go back again in a heartbeat and have more lobster ravioli OR try something else.
