So sad… Sloppy Jo’s is closed. Some friends and I went to have lunch there and there is a ‘for rent’ sign in the window and a note from Sloppy Jo’s saying the location is ‘gone forever’ but may re-open elsewhere. May we all have a moment of silence…

Do you remember sitting in the lunchroom as a child as a kid or in your kitchen and home and getting Sloppy Joe’s or having your Mom make you a fluffernutter sandwich? Sloppy Jo’s brings back all the goodness of childhood. Sloppy Joe’s, Fluffernutter sandwiches, frito pie, sky bars, cupcakes, tootsie rolls. Too many old school choices to go over. The basic menu though, is the Sloppy Joe’s(without or without cheese), fluffernutters, hot dogs, frito pie, corndogs and for the health conscious, Tuna. Great old school kitsch with so many things to remind you of your childhood in whatever generation you grew up in. The only thing that was disapointing was the cookie dough, but their is plenty to chose from for dessert. The décor and extras were also great. If the seating fills up, radio flyers(with wood paneling on top of the wagons) are outside as benches to sit on. If the line is long they have etch-a-sketches and wireless while you wait.
