Just a short lesson on what a refill is at Starbucks: I think this is valuable information for many people! If you order a Starbucks tall latte, and then want Pike Place Roast as a refill, the answer is «yes.» I should clarify, the answer is «yes» only if you have stayed inside the store. Once you leave the store, when you return, you will be paying full price for your beverage again. The refill price is available only for same store visits. The refill only becomes free if you are paying for your beverage with a registered Starbucks Card, at the green level of benefits. And there is no refill price for any handcrafted beverages. Iced tea, iced coffee, and hot brewed coffee all have a refill price available to them. In other words, if I drink a grande Frappuccino, stay in the store, and want grande iced passion tea as a refill, then I should be charged the refill price for the passion tea, not the the full price of the iced passion tea. However, there is no way to order a Frappuccino as a refill. I bring this up because I noticed(thanks to a comment in another blog article!) that Starbucks has finally updated their website to truly clarify the refill policy. This had been in an area, where in the past, the website had had ambiguous language. Thank you Starbucks for this! Here’s the official Starbucks page on the refill benefit: In previous articles, I have talked about the theories behind the refill policy. As many people know, iced coffee, iced tea, and brewed coffee are beverages that are low cost to the business. Furthermore, those who stay inside the store are more likely to linger and purchase food or other items as well. Also, it makes no sense to tell customers, you must only purchase the lowest cost beverages to be able to receive the refill price. In other words, there’s no logic to saying that a customer who spends a premium for a handcrafted drink may not receive a refill because he or she didn’t start out with a cheaper beverage. And of course, there is never a refill price for drive-thru customers. And you really do have to stay in the store to get a refill. If you have left the store, and you return later in the day with your cup, the baristas should tell you there is no refill price available. Hope that my readers find this helpful!

I’ve stopped at this Starbucks(drive thru) several times and never thought to write a review until today. Joy took my order– and what a joy she is! So bubbly and happy. Made my experience extra special. Manager– give this lady a raise! ;)

An above-averagely friendly Starbucks… that is open until 11pm! 11pm! Nothing around here is open that late, so this is awesome for people who like or need to work at night. Please never change! Medium-sized, bright space with ample plugs and a variety of seating. Popular with high schoolers studying in the evenings — you will know if a big test is coming up at school… but hey, when was the last time you reviewed material from AP Bio?

Nice place, but loud… I wanted earplugs the last time I was there. It’s partly the music and partly the way the baristas use the equipment. For example, they’ll slam down the cover to the blender very loudly. Maybe it’s the same guy doing it each time I’ve been in there — I’ve visited several times. I’ve been to many Starbucks and I expect a certain amount of noise because making coffee drinks can be loud(e.g., using the blender, emptying a used puck of espresso, etc.). That’s not a problem. But I’ve never heard it like this. At least one person over there is being way too aggressive with the equipment. Sometimes, the only seats are at the bar, but I can’t sit there due to the noise.

Been here many times and this is the only location that gets it right each time. All other locations could learn something from them.

A Starbucks is a Starbucks? Right? Not so. Really happy this location opened with a drive thru option off of 41. The main reason for my 5 star review is Joy — she is by far the friendliest and happiest Barista I’ve ever encountered and that is saying a lot as I am a loyal Starbucks customer. She goes above and beyond.

New and improved customer service alert! What the heck happened here? I mean in a good way? After my experience in January, there was no way in heck I was going to ever frequent this place again… ever! I mean no way no how! The customer service was beyond bad. My hubby went back to this location the other day for a meeting and came home in shock at how beyond friendly everyone was. I didn’t believe him and still had no plans of going back. But, today he convinced me, and you know what? Holy cow! An entire new staff. I mean not one familiar face from the last time. Somebody at Starbucks did their job and transitioned the zombie team out of there. Great call! Under new management, they brought the guy over from Northbrook Court who actually remembers my husband’s order every time. He knows just how to make his Americano. Today there was chatty friendly service behind the register and smiling faces and thank yous. Note: Outdoor seating section for when the weather takes shape. Count me in!

This starbucks gets 5 stars because of one reason and one reason only. There is an employee there named Joy who is amazing. She makes the experience for my wife and I as well as our dog. She always gives our dog doggie lattes, and makes us feel so welcome every time we arrive.

This is clearly the Starbucks I choose to go to. The staff is outgoing and friendly. They make you feel like you are welcome from the moment you walk through the door. The location has lots of space. They have extended hours and close at 11pm, 10pm on Sundays. My kids love Starbucks but this location is a real treat and their managers run extremely well!!!

Yesterday, I would have given this Starbucks 5 stars… But I had an offensive experience today that has left a bad taste in my mouth. I was not greeted, just simply asked what I wanted. I thought this was strange since this Starbucks always has the friendliest warmest staff, but hey, we all have off days. I bought 3 gift cards and they were handed to me in a pile with a separate pile of 3 envelopes. I was so busy putting them into their envelopes that I didn’t even realize I was not offered a receipt. I also noted that the employee did not offer any pleasantries after the transaction, also weird for this location. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I realized I didn’t have a receipt and went back in to get one(company expense). Another very polite employee asked the one who had helped me to print my receipt. He loudly sighed as if I were a bother, sauntered over, printed & handed me my receipt. Again, no pleasantries or apologies. Not even eye contact or a smile. It’s a shame that one employee(his name is Louis) can ruin an otherwise great reputation. Starbucks, I hope you read this and do some customer service training with Louis as I love and frequent this location often but I don’t have the patience for the lackadaisical apathetic Louis.
