Thanks to Scott at Salsa Brava for responding. I’m happy you’re willing to look at the issues we had. We are also happy to have non-chain restaurants in our neighborhood.

Food is good not great. They are understaffed. Manager Curt is nice. We found several moldy chips. They replaced the basket instantly. Looks like a bad process in the kitchen. If it weren’t for the fact my grand daughter is seliac, and loves the pancakes on the other side, we probably would not go back. Hopefully the chef will get it together with his staff.

Although the food was decent it wasn’t as good as I had hoped, and all is this was preceded by sub par margaritas. Personally I think for the price, Hacienda is a better option. On top of the food, which was decent overall, I felt as though the staff was a bit pushy for us to leave. We may have had another round of margaritas(we had a gift card), but it wasn’t offered and she immediately brought the check. I do have to give kudos to the management who came around and ensured we had everything we needed. Edit: The business manager messaged me with an apology and assured me that the problems would be addressed. He was very polite and handled the situation professionally.

I still love this place but the invisible single female syndrome struck again. There for an hour. Bartender was busy with a big table. I waited and was hopeful when the female manager asked the gentleman next to me if he wanted more coffee. She took his empty plate away and left. I got up and thought I should just be seated. I knew what I wanted before I walked in so it was frustrating to wait, then be seated and wait. Cocktail came minutes before the entrée and the kicker… A margarita made with organic vodka. I thought it tasted sweet but figured they added more agave than usual. The second fancy screwdriver came well after my meal was finished, just seemed like it took forever and at that point I was ready and not really interested in the second one.(Would have saved me $ 6 and at least 15 minutes of time). I handed her my card and when she brought it back I noticed the up charge for the special organic vodka I consumed. This special screwdriver/margarita was $ 1.50 extra for the organic vodka. There was no tequila so it wasn’t like a double. Tequila and vodka typically don’t mix well which is why it’s weird I ended up with this new type of vodka mock margarita. What I was served dressed like margarita but cost $ 7.50! They took off $ 1.50 off one«marg“and that took awhile, then I asked why they didn’t take off the other &1.50 for the second vodka margarita. I couldn’t find this type of margarita on the menu while I waited. The manager went and took off the other one too which also took awhile. So if you order the organic margarita, make sure you say the organic morning margarita, which is on the menu and described as having tequila in it. Still love the Tatum toast, I will wait at the bar again as long as it takes me to get noticed. I wish they had nutritional info on their food like calories, etc. This was my second visit this week. Not a typical experience by far so I truly hope a girl can get a quick bite next time.

Had lunch here this week. While the tortilla soup was not what I was hoping for, the salad was amazing! The honey line vinaigrette was just the right amount of sweet and tart. Loved the mango and pumpkin seeds too.

This place is incredible. Great food, great drinks, great service. Cool bar atmosphere. Get there early on the weekends-busy. Christian is awesome at the bar.

Guacamole made fresh at your table. Yummy chips and salsa. Enchilladas are too notch. Fresh Mexican food. Not just mexican food that has been microwaved served on a hot plate. Good Mexican food is hard to find in Denver! You wont be sorry if you eat here.

We ate out on the Patio on a Saturday evening. Nice patio area. Wonderful chips, salsa and queso! We shared an order of steak & chicken fajitas — tasty! A half order of the sopapillas were the perfect finish. This will become a regular stop when we crave the Tex-Mex.

Craving Mexican food and wanting to find a unique place close to AMC24, the boyfriend and I set of for an impromptu day date, and stumbled upon Salsa Brava! We were mad impressed with the following: THESTAFF = amazing, friendly and genuine. we were seated at a booth close to the bar and greeted by Riley, a super bubbly young one that was full of energy and great suggestions. She got our drinks fast, and our food was out in no time. I was very impressed with the manager — who approached us with a trio of guac, salsa and queso — because she heard it was our first visit! so sweet! THEFOOD = super fresh, delicious, and filling! portions are huge, and definitely worth the price! Bf ordered the chicken enchiladas while I opted for the crispy shrimp tacos! everything was so flavorful and yummy! another plus = they offer a gluten free menu! :) They offer happy hour almost all day on the weekends and have some great options for appetizers and drinks. we had the happy hour house margs and they weren’t anything special but hit the spot! THEATMOSPEHRE/LOCATION= open concept, warm tones and decorations on walls and very welcoming. In the mood for breakfast? Right next door, is Urban Egg — same owners, varying food, with great reviews! Next time, i’ll check out their patio! Their location is super close AMC theaters, tucked in the corner of highlands ranch. THEPRICES = very reasonable for what you get! can’t beat happy hour either! I was very impressed with this whole place — to be honest. I have never been to a place with such down to earth people. I will definitely return :)

So we went last week after wanting to try this place for a long time. The food is typical highlands ranch fare in that it’s fresh and unique. But lacks flavor. I like my food to slap me in the face so don’t treat this review as a bad one. I don’t eat too spicy food either. I just don’t like to salt my food. For the price($ 70 with tip for 4 meals and only two sodas) I expected more. My favorite by far in Denver is still La Fogata off of I-225.

My only advice: just don’t go. The service was terrible and the food was even worse. There are plenty of other options for Mexican food in the area that are a better choice.

What can I say? This place had incredibly warm and inviting staff members and their salsa is amazing! We had their queso, fresh guacamole, warm salsa, and delicious warm tortilla chips for the starters. They were all gluten and soy free and all delicious! I had the chicken fiesta salad but subbed the chicken for black beans and it was incredibly balanced and I didn’t miss the meat at all. We also had the bananas foster, which I recorded and it became a hit at the store that night. The girl was so gracious and excited to make it, she really created a fun memorable moment. The waitress, Julie, was so sweet and personable. She was just great! I will return!

Let me start out by saying that I have enjoyed several lunches at Salsa Brava over the past year. So, I talked my wife into going here for dinner… even though she wanted to go to La Sandia in Lone Tree instead. We were seated by the hostess in a booth in the bar area. Big mistake. Service(due to the fact that the bartender was responsible for our booth in addition to his overwhelming demand for drinks from the entire restaurant) was slow. I would recommend, that if you go to this restaurant for dinner, ask to be seated in the main dining area. Once we were able to order, we started out with the queso dip + chorizo. First disappointment of the night. We paid an extra $ 1 for the chorizo, which amounted to about a thumb-sized dollup sprinkled in the middle of a small a bowl of what seamed like seasoned velveeta. I believe that cost us about $ 9. We also had drinks. I ordered the Perfect Patron Grande maragarita. It was great. My wife ordered the sangria… not so great. It tasted like it was straight out of the store bought bottle, with hardly any fruit, or added ingredients. For our main course, we both ordered the All Natural Chicken Stuffed Poblano. Description: «Roasted Poblano /Mesquite Grilled Chicken /Mixed Cheeses /Chipotle Crema Fresca /Black Beans». What it actually was… a roasted poblano stuffed with cubes of under-seasoned chicken, no cheese at all on either of ours, and sprinkled with a minute amount of the crema fresca(couldn’t taste it at all). The best thing on the plate was the rice. Everything lacked seasoning, and I’m not sure why they do not put anything other than chicken in the poblano? Corn, some pico… heck anything would make it better. Sadly underwhelming. Finally, the big kicker… the price for 2 entrees, 1 appetizer, 1 grande margarita, and 1 sangria — $ 80(which included our standard tip of 20%)… way over priced for what we received. My wife kindly reminded me that La Sandia has a $ 1 Taco Tuesdays, with happy hour on their drinks. Last time we went there on a Tuesday, we had plenty of better quality food, and each had two high quality cocktails each for under $ 60. All in all, I’m afraid we won’t be going back to Salsa Brava for dinner. Perhaps for happy hour to enjoy a margarita, but certainly not for the food.

I hadn’t been here is a long time. I used to live close to the one in Colorado Springs so I would eat at that one all the time. Well… then I moved to Denver and forgot about Salsa Brava. I had lunch here and Alex served me at the bar and he was great. He made sure that I never ran out of anything and he was extremely friendly. The food was good, just like it always was. I will have to agree with a review that I saw someplace that said their pico salsa was not as good as the Springs. They don’t cut their tomatoes up as much and it affects the flavor as well as makes it harder to eat.

Just here for Happy Hour ! Awesome I will be back for sure. They have $ 2.50 domestic and $ 3.50 craft and imports. Or a tall craft for $ 6 They carry most of the Breckenridge line they have one grist and then of course your Dis Equis ians Coors light Bud Light. I had the tall Breckenridge Vanilla Porter and it was just awesome. Free chips and salsa and the sauce is warm and really good ! I will be back plenty of times for sure. Neal was my attentive bartender. The service was great.

Salsa Brava is a fresh take on Mexican down here in the El Rancho de Highlands. Located in a strip mall off South Broadway, the restaurant sports busy bar area, ample seating, and an outdoor patio for the warmer months. At the bar, the Margaritas are excellent. At a table, sometimes less so. The bar also has a nice assortment of beers, including the local Grist Brewery’s Staple IPA. Chips are served promptly, with a tasty salsa that’s not too hot, but has a great little kick. Appys and mains are fresh, with not too much of the smothered approach the traditional Mexican restaurants office. I’ve had their burritos, quesadillas, and even their Chipotle Ribs. All excellent. Service sometimes is spotty, otherwise a solid 4 star rating would be offered.

Nooooo… seriously? Could not tell that this is a part of the wonderful 5 star Salsa Brava in CSprings! One of the great things about Salsa Brava(SB) is the pico and this my daughter called«lazy pico» because it was not chopped up and mixed together to enjoy the flavors like they do in the Springs. These were big chunks and NO flavor. I would never have been served this in CSprings SB. Secondly, water glasses were not filled and we had to flag the server down for more chips. We ordered the trio sampler for our appetizer and the guacamole also did not taste like SB guacamole. Not much flavor at all. Server also did not check to see how our meal was part way through and we went to eat at 1:45 pm. They definitely were not busy then. I reviewed this SB location in September 2011 and gave it four stars however unfortunately I cannot do that today. I see that SB is smaller than it was three years ago and the other part although still owned by the same company is called Urban Egg. I’ve not been there but maybe that’s where the focus is now. Because it certainly is not on SB. Not a fan anymore. :-(

A friend took me here last night and I had the chipotle ribs. They were REALLY good — nicely char grilled with a delicious barbeque sauce. The accompanying rice and grilled zucchini were not great. Go, get the ribs, but try to get them to substitute something for the rice and vegetables. My friends liked their chicken quesadilla, veggie burrito and fajitas.

Usually go here for lunch during the work week after 1pm. Place is usually pretty empty and quiet. Good for a quick lunch. I love the fish tacos here. They are very satisfying. The Chipotle salsa that comes with the chips is pretty good too. I can’t really fault this restaurant for their limes, since every Mexican restaurant seems to only have really shitty limes. But here they sometimes give you the tiniest sliver, which when they are dry enough as is, makes it a waste of time to try to extract any juice at all. You end up with rinds all through your taco! So I always ask for more and it seems to be fine.

This evening had its ups and downs, so it was hard to arrive on a star rating. I bounced around between three and four stars, and finally settled on three. Here’s why: The complementary chips and salsa appetizer is super good! I’ve never been to a restaurant where they serve the salsa hot(in temperature) before, and I was surprised at how good it was. The chips tasted fresh and they came out warm. We had a party of eight people, and the wait staff handled it very well. We all trickled in over the course of an hour; the last two members of our party were late and we had to wait a while before ordering, so the waitress did a great job of getting us drinks and making sure the chips and salsa stayed full. Sadly, the drinks were weak. I ordered two gin-and-tonics on an empty stomach, but didn’t even get a buzz. This is unacceptable when they cost like $ 9 each. When the entrees came, I was a little disappointed. I had ordered the fish tacos, and was surprised that the tartar sauce was very sweet. It kind of ruined the dish for me. I powered through one of the two tacos even though I didn’t like it, but I couldn’t finish the second one. I definitely wouldn’t order that again. I don’t recall the waitress ever asking how our food was; if she had, I probably would have sent my dish back. My companions all seemed very happy with their food, though, so I’m sure that other menu items are good. Honestly, mine would have been fine if it weren’t for that stupid tartar sauce! All the other ingredients were very fresh and had great potential to be delicious. We shared some fried ice cream and flan for dessert. The fried ice cream was kind of bland — no more special than ice cream anywhere else. I wondered if it was just so cold we couldn’t taste it, or if they really hadn’t added any cinnamon, sugar, or other spices to the crispy coating. The flan, though, was very flavorful and came smothered in a delightful caramel sauce. So other than my food and the drinks, the overall restaurant experience was quite good. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio and hearing the fountain trickle. Wish we had been at one of the tables by the fireplace, though, because it definitely got cold once the sun went down. The service was excellent. We’ll probably come back at some point, but we won’t get mixed drinks or order fish tacos! And we’ll pass on the fried ice cream for flan instead.
