Great Italian food at a reasonable price. The zucchini chips are delicious and no matter what I order I always leave happy.

I was really convinced that this would be our family’s new place(because the food is great) until I saw the way that the owner treats his staff! At first, I assumed the man who the table over from us identified as the manager was the owner, but I was sadly mistaken. The owner was screaming at a young man(couldn’t have even been 20) and the look on his face was very upsetting. I talked to a few other mothers I know in the area and this seems to be a pattern. As soon as I hear that this issue is worked out I will be more than happy to go back because the food was really great, but I cannot condone(especially as a mother) the treatment of employees like that.

This is a take out review. Delicious meatballs in marinara topped with fresh ricotta and amazing pizza! Had the food delivered and it was great!

Love this place– the food is delicious! We are slowly making our way through the entire menu and so far nothing has disappointed! The staff are also all very nice and accommodating. The Bruschetta Trio(who knew honey works on this!!) is fab, the Italian Wedding soup really hits the spot and the Ravioli Pertuso(Short rib ravi’s) has been our fav entre so far. Lots of italian places have come and gone from this spot– please go there so they never leave!

This place has the most delicious arugula and proscuitto pizzette! You MUST try this. Byob option is also a plus! Other recommended items: fried calamari, and the pappardelle bolognese. Service is always friendly, and overall good ambience.

I worked in a restaurant for many years so I know Unilocal is a very dangerous thing. I understand that servers, managers, even owners have ‘off nights’. I’ve had them as a server and also as a manager and I know my owners have as well. When it comes to remarking on this site about anything that isn’t related to food(it’s look/presentation, taste, preparation time) I feel it is unfair in many instances. It’s unfair unless it is something that has happened more than once, which is tough to measure because many people wont give another chance to a restaurant. I feel strongly that you shouldn’t judge something or someone based on one instance. When it comes to the way a restaurant does their business though, well that’s a different situation. That is how the restaurant is run and I feel that is more than fair to comment on based on one instance. My mother and her friends dined at the restaurant tonight and were told that they had a time limit to their meal. Upon getting sat, a man told them that they had to be finished and out by 7:45 to make room for a larger party. It’s not the worst thing in the world to tell a table to quiet down if other tables are inconvenienced or that their children should please remain seated if they are running around, but you never tell customers they have to enjoy their experience within a certain time frame. A meal is much more than food on a plate, it’s an experience. As a waiter I’ve sat in back rooms playing games on my phone for hours while waiting for tables to finish up and as a manager I’ve had to offer apologies and comped meals to customers who had to wait over their scheduled reservation times. Never have I told a table that they have to be out at a certain time… you just don’t do that. What happened at the restaurant tonight is the mark of an unprofessionally ran restaurant. If they want to stay in business in a word where most restaurants fail, they should learn how to properly deal with customers and understand every table is just as important as the next. There are MANY ways to have handled a situation like this that even the dullest of minds would realize are better than just ‘you have to be out by 7:45′. I hope the owners read this and learn this is not the way to operate. It’s rude as a human to another human, yet alone as a host/owner to a customer. If that’s not ‘business as usual’ you should speak with the host and show him the error of his way. It’s not the worst thing in the world, and I know this seems really drawn out but in the restaurant business it is a really big ‘no-no’, which can have very serious repercussions from word of mouth if this is business as usual.

Nice Italian restaurant located at downtown in Hillsdale, NJ. Very inviting, romantic atmosphere. I visited during lunch and a few times at dinner. Both relaxing and romantic. Nice Italian place to enjoy relaxing meal. When I visited lunch time, it wasn’t crowded. But this place gets packed at dinner during weekdays. I enjoy their food but service is somewhat off at times. When they open our wine and pour on the glass, I noticed my wine glass was dirty. They changed it to new one. But these events happened again when I re-visited. My husband ordered big bowl of soup to start, they served without spoon. When we asked, they gave us small dessert spoon. It took a while for my husband to finish that soup with small dessert spoon. But it took him faster to finish that soup than looking for the server to get us bigger spoon. Good food and BYOB, ample parking. If they can improve their service consistency, this place will be a perfect 5 stars.

Rounding up my 3.5 stars. I really love the food here but I get a weird vibe from the service. Don’t get me wrong the right orders come out, the waters are constantly filled and the wine opened with no problem. But that’s it. I feel like the servers are there just to play the role but they have no love for the food or restaurant. I guess the best word to describe the service would be robotic. Every pizza I have had has been good. Apps are tasty. Pastas are good too. Cooked al dente and has nice flavor. Restaurant is beautiful with a dim romantic ambiance. So a definite date place for dinner.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant! The service was great, very attentive. We had almost every appetizer. The meatballs with ricotta, arancini, and bake clams were a great start. For a salad we had the Alfonso salad and was a great break between the appetizer and the main course. For entrees we had the pasta mandara! Which is my absolute favorite… ordered an extra to take home! Others had the hay pasta which was fantastic as well, and some of the specials, including the pork Chop. Great restaurant, it’s a BYOB, has great food, great service and a fantastic atmosphere! 100% recommend trying it! You will be a return customer.

One of my Favorite lunch spots. Always consistent… Staff very friendly. LOVELOVE the Contadino salad(no walnuts Allergy*) and the Veruda Pizzetti I work in saddle river at Eric Alt but live in saddle brook… even on my days off I pick up lunch from there to meet my girl friend with. The home made dressing is amazing I need the recipe to make at home. Everything there is great. Sometimes take out doesn’t have the same quality as if you would eat it there but not this case .I think it’s fabulous both ways. NO Complaints.

Della Cucina is an amazing addition to the area. I’ve done both take-out and delivery, and the service has always been brisk and friendly. All around the food has been consistently delicious. My personal favorites are their antipasto, chicken parm(both entrée and sandwich), spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant rollatini, and their good, old-fashioned plain pizza is so good. Glad to have these guys in town!

The food here is outstanding! I’ve been here twice, dinner and lunch with my Italian mother, now when my mother says wow this gravy(marinara sauce) is so close to mine you know it’s a home run. For dinner I had the veal piccata which was not on the menu but the made it for me with no hesitation. The veal was so tender no knife was needed. My mama had the rigatoni bolognese, all I can say is unbelievable, from someone in the business you can tell they use extremely fine and fresh ingredients. Now onto lunch, my son had there pizza, no topping just the original, it was perfect. I had linguini with clams, very fresh and pasta cooked to point. Also the service is superb, very knowledgable of the menu and extremely friendly. We will be back REALSOON!!!

So completely overpriced! $ 45 for 2 pies with 1 topping and when we complained the manager was busy and never called back! I do not recommend!

What a wonderful casual atmosphere BYOB, but quality food restaurant. Everything was top rated. The eggplant rollatini app was one of the best I’ve ever had. Fettuccini with shrimp and veggies was wonderful. The apple tart with cinnamon ice cream is the dessert of choice. A fine place for a casual Italian meal. I’ll be back.

Excellent pizza! While there have been many delicious pizza places in Bergen County over the years, I’ve found that a lot have declined in quality. It’s nice to find a newer place that hits all the right marks! We ordered a large cheese pie with half pepperoni and half mushroom, and a large white pie with spinach. The ingredients were so fresh, which makes a huge difference especially with a white pizza. Also the spinach was cooked before not just put on the pizza and warmed up, which I appreciated, because it tastes 100x better when it’s fully cooked. I really enjoyed it and everything reheated well the next day. We only ordered the pizzas for pick up but they have a nice restaurant set up in the back. It was pretty crowded and the décor and dim lighting made it feel like a more upscale restaurant. This would be a great date spot! I will definitely be ordering from here again.

We ordered for delivery a couple weeks ago. I’m Italian, I can pronounce things in an Italian accent, and I know how to read an Italian menu. when I ordered rabi& salsiccia, I said it clearly and correctly. The girl on the phone taking the order pretended that she couldn’t hear me when in reality she just didn’t know the menu items. I had to repeat it 4 times before she found it on the menu I guess. I know this because when she read the order back to me she said«rabi & Salsiatta» which isn’t a thing. They should at least know the menu if they’re going to take phone orders. There were a couple things wrong with our order and the delivery girl apparently was in fast and furious because our food was all over the place. The food was pretty good I can’t deny, but I most likely won’t order again.

We were excited for this place to open because there are no decent pizza delivery places in the area. Unfortunately their delivery guy wasn’t there the night that we ordered, however, we decided to pick up and were glad we did. The pizza was great and the house salad was a really fresh mix of ‘real’ lettuce not the garden variety iceberg and unripe tomato most places in the area offer. The pizza was cooked perfectly, crust and sauce were tasty. Looking forward to delivery once they find a reliable person!

I agree with the other reviews about décor and inviting space. Busy even on a weeknight. Food was not just superb, but very authentic Italian. Having lived in Naples for 3+ years, I can honestly say that they got it right. Good value for the money, portions were very generous but not ridiculous. Mostly, the taste was really what separated it. Ingredients freshly and carefully prepared, and the food was all tasty, but not over spiced. Wait staff and management very friendly and accommodating. Excellent for kids. Probably good for groups. Very highly recommended!

Della Cucina is a great new Italian restaurant in Hillsdale with an adjacent pizza shop. The space is completely renovated with a fresh décor and inviting ambiance. Wait staff was attentive, accommodative and friendly. I went to Della Cucina with my family(including 4 kids under 8 years old) for an early dinner Sunday afternoon. I had the Ceasar salad to start and veal saltimbocca as an entrée. Both were delicious, with generous portions and a pleasing presentation. Someone else at my table ordered off the menu, which the kitchen accommodated beautifully. The kids all ordered pizza and chicken strips and really e them, which is a testament since they are very finicky eaters. One of my daughters eats gluten free, so we were thrilled to see that the restaurant offers gluten free pizza and pastas. I also«sampled» the kids’ meals and would have been happy to have them as my own meal. They were very tasty! Desert was scrumptious. I ordered the tiramisu and had a scoop of salted caramel gelato on the side… excellent. My mouth is literally watering as I write this review. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. The restaurant is also BYOB, which I always appreciate in keeping costs down. We all had a great experience at Della Cucina and will DEFINITELY be back again sometime soon.
